Flower on the ash

( Anna's POV )

I woke up and saw Alex laying beside me. I moved myself to sit up on the bed when Alex opened his eyes slowly. He saw me sitting beside him and also got up.

" How are you feeling?" he asked me, slightly touching my face.

" I'm good." I said and smiled a little at him. I was feeling much better seeing Alex's love and care towards me. Last night I was too scared but when I was in Alex's arms I felt so secured.

" What time is it?" I asked him.

" 7.47" he said while checking his phone.

I was going to get up when Alex held my wrist. I turned around to look at him.

" You stay here. I have called a doctor. He will be here any minute now." Alex said and I nodded my head. I sat back, covering myself with the blanket. My hair was open so I thought to make a bun. I gathered my hair in my hand and was going to make a bun when I accidentally touched my swollen forehead. I winced at the pain.

" What happened?" I heard Alex asked me. My eyes got a little moist because of the pain.

" Nothing. I accidentally touched my forehead." I said, looking down.

" Let me see it." Alex said and came near me. He sat on the bed and held my chin so that I was looking straight into his eyes. He brought his other hand and touched my forehead. I flinched at the touch.

" Let me bring some ice for you." he said and stood up from the bed.

Alex came back after few a minutes with ice pack in his hands. He again sat next to me and dabbed the ice pack on my forehead, where it was swollen. It pained a little in the starting but gradually I was able to endure it.

I was observing Alex that how carefully he was applying the ice pack on me blowing a little time to time. He kept the ice pack down when we heard a knock on the door.

" Master, the doctor is here." said an elderly woman to Alex. I guessed that she was Aunt Zhao as he had told me earlier that there's a woman who is caretaker of this house.

Alex nodded his head and stood up from the bed when the doctor entered the room.

" Good morning Mr. and Mrs.Wilson." the doctor said as he entered the room. I blushed and looked at Alex when the doctor addressed me as Mrs.Wilson but he looked like it was the most common thing, nothing special.

" Let me give you a check-up." he said. Alex stood beside me all the time through the check-up. After the check-up the doctor smiled looking at me.

" You are a strong woman but you need to take care of yourself more. " he said.

" How's the baby?" I asked to him.

" These are some prescriptions and tonics for her. I have written the doses in it." he said and handed a paper to Alex.

" Thanks." Alex said and took the paper from the doctor's hand.

" Mrs.Wilson needs to take rest for a few days. It would be best if she doesn't work for some time." the doctor said and Alex nodded his head.

Both Alex and the doctor left the room. I was sitting alone there on the bed when I felt someone's eye on me. I looked towards the door and found something white at the entrance.

" Zeus!" I shouted and the creature came out from where he was peeking and ran towards me. He hopped on the bed and started licking my face. I laughed at him.

" I see you have made friends with him." came Alex's voice. I looked towards his direction and found him walking towards us.

" Zeus is such a good boy." I said smiling and Zeus wiggled his tail.

I played there with Zeus while Alex kept sitting there looking at us.

" You could take a walk with Zeus after your breakfast." Alex said.

" Ok." I replied and giggled at the same time when Zeus licked my feet.

" You should freshen up and come to the hall. Aunt Zhao will prepare the breakfast." Alex said lifting Zeus from my lap and I nodded my head. Alex exited the room with Zeus and I headed towards the bathroom. My toothbrush which I had used before when I came to Alex's house was still here. I picked it up and started to brush my teeth. I took a bath afterwards and wrapped a towel around my body. I got out of the bathroom and then I remembered that I don't have my clothes with me.
