Flower on the ash

My heart was beating loudly in my chest. I went towards the bathing area and turned on the tap to fill the tub. Just now, Alex was looking so seductive. I stripped out my layers and stepped into the tub. I poured some body-wash on my hands and scrubbed it all over my body. It gave the same smell as Alex's. I washed my body and it took me a little longer cause I was too lost in the smell. Sometimes I feel like I am going insane and doing weird things in pregnancy.

I got out of the bath and dried my body as well as hair. Then I remembered that I forgot to bring my clothes inside in a hurry to run away from Alex. Ahh. Why am I like this? I don't want to call Alex and ask him to give me my clothes. I embarrass myself in front of him too much.

I paced inside the bathroom but at last I realized that I can't do anything except asking him for help, I took a long breath and called Alex's name. I waited for a moment but there was no reply. I again called his name, this time a little louder.

" Yes?" Alex's voice came after a couple of seconds.

" Why? If you forgot to bring your clothes you can walk till here and have it." he said and my eyes widened.

" W-What are you s-saying?" I stuttered horribly at his words.

" I was just kidding. I will bring your clothes. Wait for a second." he said and walked off. Alex always makes my heart go wild.

I waited for him to bring my clothes. After some time, I heard a knock on the door.

" Take this." Alex spoke. I opened the bathroom door and extended my hand. Alex handed me the clothes.

" Thanks." I said to him and closed the door. I put on the nightdress which Alex brought and walked out of the bathroom.

When I got out, I saw Alex laying on the bed with a book in his hand, his legs covered with a blanket. I also made my way towards the bed and slid inside the blanket.

" What are you reading?" I asked him.

" How to take care of a newborn baby." he said without diverting his gaze from the book. I didn't believe my ears. I looked down on the title of the book and found he was telling me the truth.

" What are going to do by reading that?" I asked him. He shut his book, putting the bookmark on the page he was reading.

" Take care of you and the baby." he said, leaning his head on the headboard and looking at me.

" But there's still time. It's not like the baby is coming tomorrow." I said to him.

" So what? We should be prepared." he said like a child.

" You are really eager to become a father." I said to him.

" Of course I am." he said. "Now sleep. It's getting late." he said and I nodded my head. I covered myself up with the blanket and closed my eyes. Soon I was drifted to sleep.

I opened my eyes when I felt my side empty. I sat up straight and rubbed my eyes. I saw that it was bright morning and I am alone in the bed. I stood up and slowly made my way downstairs to find Alex. On the way, I checked the time on the wall clock. My eyes went wide to see it was already 10 a.m.

As accepted, Alex was almost done making the breakfast. When I entered, Alex was keeping the dishes on the dining table. Alex saw me as I walked towards him.

" Good morning." he said with a bright smile.

" Good morning. I'm sorry that I didn't help you with breakfast." I said.

" It's okay." he said.

" Why didn't you wake me up?" I asked him.

" I was going to wake you up when I was done with the breakfast." he said and walked towards me.

" You were the one who turned off my alarm. Right?" I said to him.

" I like to watch you sleep peacefully, I didn't wanted to let your sleep being disturbed by the stupid alarm." he said.

" But~"

" You always add your 'but' in every conversation. Now go and freshen up or else the food will get cold." he said. I know that I can't win against him so I decided to freshen up first. I went back to the room and did my routine and came back downstairs after some time.

We both ate our breakfast. As expected of my husband, he made a delicious breakfast. After eating Alex went to the company. He gave me the house keys so that I can lock the house if I go out.
