Flower on the ash

I want my Dad to come and see me as a bride. I wish that he could come and give me his blessings on the occasion of my and Alex's wedding. Even if I said that we won't be related on that day, but still I'm his daughter. He would at least love me because the blood flowing in my veins is also his. Mrs.Wilson looked at me and patted my shoulder. She wrote the name of my Dad on the list.

" It's prepared. I will give the orders for the cards today." she said and stood up. "Go and wake Alex up. The breakfast is almost ready." she said and I nodded my head. I walked upstairs, towards the room. I opened the door and saw Alex's sleeping face. I smiled and walked up to him. I leaned towards him.

" Wake up. The breakfast is ready." I said to him and he nodded. Before I could straighten my back, Alex grabbed my hand and pulled me on top of him so that I was trapped in his arms.

" What are you doing?" I asked him stunned.

" Stay like this for a moment." he said nuzzling his head in the crook of my neck.

" But Mom is waiting downstairs for us." I said to him.

" She can wait for a few more minutes." he said and held me tighter in his hug. I didn't say anything and took a long breath. The air was mixed with Alex's smell.

" Ok. But only for two minutes." I said to him for which he smiled. We were like that for quite a moment when I heard Alex's deep breathing and being quiet. I looked at him to see he was again asleep. Before I could wake him up again, suddenly Zeus jumped up on the bed and started to bark. Alex woke up from his sound and sat straight on the bed.

" This brat can't even wait for a little more time." Alex said rubbing his eyes with his palm. I giggled at him.

" Get ready fast. Mom is waiting downstairs." I said to him and got up from the bed. "Come Zeus." I said to my wolfy creature and walked out of the room, to downstairs.

Aunt Zhao and Mrs.Wilson were already in the dining room. I sat on the chair and Zeus went to Aunt Zhao to give him his breakfast.

" Where is Alex?" Mrs.Wilson asked me passing me the jug of juice.

" He is getting ready." I informed her.

" Are you going to work at the company today?" she asked.

" Yeah." I replied and put the omlet in my mouth.

" I will pack some snacks for you. A pregnant woman feels hungry after some time. And don't forget to stay hydrated." she said looking at me. I smiled at her and nodded. We were eating our breakfast when Alex joined in the middle. Mrs.Wilson bombarded Alex with lots of tips and facts about how to take care of a pregnant woman. We both left the house at 11 o'clock saying goodbye to Mom.

I was feeling energetic to go company after the break of these days. Seeing the familiar building, staff and cabin, I felt happy. After reaching our cabin, I was going to prepare a cup of coffee for Alex when he declined, saying that he has to meet a client after a few hours in a cafè so he won't be drinking coffee now. I nodded my head and walked up to my cabin to do my work.

I flipped the pages of the files kept in front of me and soon I emerged myself in the work. Few days of holiday doesn't made any difference in my work. As I thought that I would have to work extra to make up for the time I wasn't available, I wasn't like that. I guess Alex had done some of my files in my absence due to which, I don't have to work overtime and by the way, Alex wouldn't even have allowed me to work overtime now.

Alex kept on calling me from time to time within the hours of work, whether he is outside for some meeting or he is in his cabin to make sure I'm eating what Mom gave me to eat. Alex would have called me at least fifty times before it was time for lunch.

When lunchtime finally arrived, I went to Alex's cabin. He was sitting like he was waiting for me only.

" You look gorgeous when you are working." he said and walked up with me towards the couch.

" Mr.Wilson, were you peeking on me, leaving your work aside?" I asked him, teasing. Sure he would peek inside my cabin with all the one sided transparent glasses he had installed.

" I don't need to peep on something when I know it's already mine." he said and pecked on my lips.
