Flower on the ash

My cheeks turned into a deeper shade of pink. He kissed my cheeks after leaving my lips.

" I love you." he said.

" I love you too." I said, my cheeks still a little heated. "Let's order the food." I said after a moment.

" I have already ordered. It will be here in a minute." he said and just then there was a knock on the door. We both turned our gazes towards the door hoping to see Alex's driver with our food, but unexpectedly it was Graham. He was holding a big packet in his hands.

" What are you doing here?" Alex asked him when he made his way to drag the chair from the front of Alex's table to sit in front of us. He sat on the chair and kept the packet from his hands to the table in front of us.

" I came here to meet you guys when I saw your driver carrying this packet. I thought I should help him a little so I took this from his hand and came here." he said to Alex, smiling. Graham always has this charming smile on his face. But we both know very well that he has come here, which has something to do with Penelope.

" Don't beat around the bush. Just say what help you need from us." Alex said and Graham came straight to the topic.

" I think getting older hasn't made any problem with your mind till now." he said and I laughed at the joke he cracked which resulted in both of us receiving a glare from Alex. "Just kidding. I'm here to remind you of your promise." he said to me and I raised an eyebrow.

" That you will help me to get Penelope." he helped me to remind.

" Oh. Yeah, I remember it." I said to him.

" Then please go with Penelope to this address this weekend." he said and handed me a paper where an address was written. It was of a restaurant which had recently opened.

" Okay, I can do that." I assured him.

" Wait. What okay? You are pregnant." he said to me.

" It's okay Alex. Anyway, I can do some shopping for the wedding also." I said to him when Graham spoke.

" What wedding? Are you two getting married?" he asked surprised.

" Yeah. On 1st August. You will get the card soon." I answered him.

" Wow. Congratulations you two. Soon you will be my official sister-in-law then." he said and hugged me.

" It would be better if you maintain your distance." commented Alex when Graham pulled off.

" You keep getting jealous. I can't help you. Bye Anna." he said and left the cabin. I looked at Alex. He was looking grumpy.

" Alex, can you smell something burning?" I asked Alex. He understood my words and looked towards me.

" Why are you being jealous?" I asked him squeezing his cheeks. He looks so cute when he is jealous.

" I'm not jealous of that man. You are only mine." he said and captured my lips with his. I responded to his kiss. Then surprisingly he inserted his tongue into my mouth and started to kiss me as he wanted to devour me right at that moment. When he broke the kiss when I was out of breath.

" Let's eat lunch." he said as if nothing happened just now and I nodded. Alex's kiss will kill me someday.

Alex opened the packet which he had ordered for us and was brought up by Graham. It had rice, shrimps, meats, and veggies. My mouth watered seeing the food in front of me.

" Eat." He said and we both started to eat. After we eat these dishes, I will ask Alex where he orders these foods. Every time I eat, its taste enhances even more.

We both ate our lunch and my stomach was tight. Maybe I shouldn't have eaten this much, but I couldn't help myself as the food was really very delicious.

" You should take a nap here." he said to me after the table was cleared.

" No. It's okay. I will continue my work." I said to him.

" No. You should sleep. The doctor said that you should take proper rest. It will be good for you and the baby both." he said. I can't refuse him so I nodded my head.

" But remember to wake me up after half an hour." I said to him. I have to complete checking a very important file.

" Okay. Now rest." he said. I laid on the couch and Alex went to sit on his chair. He started to do his work and I was seeing him when I slowly drifted to sleep.

I slowly opened my eyes. I found myself covered with Alex's coat. I looked in his direction. He was emerged in work. My gaze fell on the scene behind him and my eyes went wide. I quickly stood up from the couch gaining Alex's attention.

" Why didn't you wake me up at 3 o'clock?" I asked him. I could see through the transparent glass of this cabin, that it was already evening. The sun had already set and the sky was covered in a purple blanket.
