Forever Destined To The Silver Shadow

Chapter 243 - I Don't Want Him

Celestia's POV:

It was still night when I arrived at the Highland castle. I went directly to my room without making eye contact with the Fae guards, who were patrolling around.

Edwin advised me not to talk about the happenings of tonight to anyone else—not even Daviana. But everyone will eventually come to know that the Silver Shadow has captured all the Fathomless warriors. At least he didn't imprison the younglings. They returned to the land safely.

I fell on my mattress without caring about changing my dirt-smudged torn clothes. My mind kept on thinking about the events that happened a while ago. I was fascinated when I pictured his piercing scarlet eyes and his fiery red flames with which he destroyed four of the Incubus.

He saved my dignity! If not for him, then I would have lost my honor and life. He really loves me! Or else he would not have gotten so mad that I was getting assaulted..

I sighed out and blinked at the fire chandelier above when I realized that I was falling back into the same pit as I did before. I reminded myself that he might love me—but he is not good for me.

He is a trickster, and he is trying to overthrow my father. He captured the Fae warriors, so he is my enemy even if he really loves me.

I should see him as my enemy! But why does my heart feel warm when I replay the moment when his lips touched mine. My pulse increased rapidly when the realization hit me. Maybe I am in love with him too!

This can't be good for me. Father Oberon has high expectations from me now. All of that will be shattered if I reunite with him.

But something in me always forces me to surrender to him. Only through him am I able to feel the solace. If a thousand people are in a room, I only thirst for his blood! What could be the reason for this? Why am I not able to stop myself from falling in love with my mortal enemy?!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I didn't know when exactly I fell asleep. But a bang on the door woke up my peaceful slumber.
"Celestia, open the door! They are back," Edwin shouted outside my door.
I immediately got down from my mattress and ran to the door. Edwin gasped when he saw me. "Celestia, why would you be still in yesterday's clothes? If someone sees you in this, they might find out about yesterday night—"
"But they would have to know about that eventually. Fae warriors are missing and-"
"No, Celestia! All of them are back. Apparently, that trickster had released all of them," he said.
"What?" I screamed. "They all are back?!"
He smiled and nodded. This is such a relief. I was anxious about explaining the event to Father Oberon. He would have been so furious with me that I led all the warriors into the traps of that trickster.
"So we should not say about that to anyone—"
"Exactly! Even though I feel guilty for hiding the truth from the King, this is for the best," he said.
"Yeah," I sighed and moved my gaze to the wall behind him. "But why would you release the warriors?"
"I have no idea! Maybe we can ask them. They are down in the garden now—"
"Then I will meet you down there," I said and shut the door of my room.
I ran to my closet and took out my warrior suit. While I was stripping down from the dusty clothes, it hit me that now I have one less reason to hate Silver Shadow. He had released the warriors!
Holy Aiden! This can't be happening. I don't want my heart to long for him. I don't want him!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Once I got dressed up in my neat warrior suit, I ran to the castle garden. All the warriors were fine. No one even had a scratch on their skin. So Silver Shadow didn't even hurt anyone. All he did was imprison them.

The only one who seemed to be hurt was Vivian. He had red rashes over his arm and face. I went to him and tried to touch his sturdy tanned hand—but I stopped myself when I realized that it was impossible for me to touch any other man. That was a close one! I could have hurt him more.

I glanced up at the tall man in front of me and said, "Vivian, are you alright now? And who did this to you?"

"It was Lilin. That Demon girl did this to me," he answered.

I was a little disappointed by his reply. If he had told me that Silver Shadow hurt him, then I would have gotten a reason to hate that trickster!

"I am really sorry about that, Vivian."

"It's okay, my friend," he smiled down at me. "I am just glad that Edwin was able to rescue you from the trickster."

Surprisingly, I wasn't able to feel happy I am free. My heart ached for some reason, and I was too afraid to admit the truth. I reminded myself that I didn't want him!

"All hail the hero Edwin," Laris shouted out to the crowd.

Then the others joined him and applauded Edwin, who seemed to be embarrassed by the praises. Well, he wasn't the one who rescued me; it was Ivory.

Once the shouting died, Edwin faced the gang and started giving out instructions to them on how everyone must act from now on. He told them that no one is supposed to talk about this event to others—to which they all agreed.

It was good to see Edwin acting out like a leader to our gang. Edwin has changed so much ever since I arrived here. He is warm to me, and he is more courageous than ever.

Usually, he always listens to Darius' orders. Only after I thought about Darius did I realize that he was missing in the crowd. Where is he?!
