Forever Destined To The Silver Shadow

Chapter 317 - Convincing The Dawn

Soon the news about the Fae King and Silver Shadow reached the nook and corner of the Celestial realm. Darius himself did the deed of spreading the truth about his father to everyone in the realm. Edwin and his Fae warrior friends helped him in the task of spreading the truth.

People were shocked to know about the true face of their King. Some felt betrayed that they let an evil man rule them for this long. And some others sympathized the tragic and misunderstood hero Silver Shadow. He was considered as the Villain until yesterday. Now he was proven to be the savior of the light realm.

Cynthia and Ivory came out of the shock of losing Theo after two days. But Celestia was still in shock. Even after two days, she was seated on the barren land beside Theo's lifeless body. Sometimes she would take his body in her lap and caress his hair. And sometimes she would speak to him even though she got no reply from his side. And the other times she wept hysterically and begged him to wake up from the dead.

Darius and Edwin wanted to save Celestia from her misery. They both decided to cremate both of their bodies so that Celestia could move on. They managed to take away Oberon's body from the spot and they performed his cremation in a simple way without gathering the crowd.

But when they tried to drag Silver Shadow's body from the barren land, Celestia transformed into her Angelic form, and she attacked anyone who dared to touch his body. She even created an invisible shield around her and Silver Shadow so that no one would be able to disturb her while she was mourning for her lover.

Soon, people of the Celestial realm gathered to the spot to see their Dawn and Shadow. They all pitied Celestia who had gone insane. But Celestia didn't care about the people who watched her. She sat beside Theo's body and kept on staring at him as if that would give him life.

A week went by just that. Celestia didn't eat or drink anything for a week. She didn't care about changing her clothes or taking a bath. She remained seated inside her invisible shield repeatedly doing the same actions of staring at Theo and caressing his hair by placing him on her lap over and over again. People started to worry about her and they assumed that Dawn would die soon if this continued!

......…

Edwin and Darius gathered everyone who was close to Celestia in the castle gardens. Fae warriors Ember, Laris, Vivian, and the Siren girls Ivory and Amelia were the closest acquaintances of Celestia. They all were determined to rescue Celestia from her depression. If they don't rescue her now, then Celestia might probably die from starving to death.

"Listen, everyone," Darius began. "Celestia has created a shield around herself and she is refusing to let us cremate Theo's body. How long can we let this happen?! We should step in and take the corpse from her or else we will lose our Dawn too along with the Shadow—"

Everyone silently listened to his speech for a while. Ivory didn't like that Darius called Theo a corpse. She wanted to slap him hard for that. But she was also tired from all the non-stop crying for a week. She didn't have the strength to confront him. And what good will that yield anyway?!

"Maybe we all should try talking to her as her friend. She might listen to us," Amelia suggested.

"That could work," Darius agreed. "But we all can't gang up and speak with her. She would get blown off! I suggest that one of us should try speaking with speak her alone—"

"That's a good idea! Who is going to be the one to talk with the damsel in distress?!" Ivory asked and then she turned to Edwin. Not just her, the whole gang turned to Edwin as if suggesting that he should talk with her.

"Why me?!" Edwin sounded distressed. He was already heartbroken by seeing Celestia's condition. If he goes to speak to her, he would probably get even more hurt.

"The girl you loved is in misery, Edwin," Amelia spoke. "If you think that you will get hurt by speaking with her, then you are selfish. Cause Celestia is suffering a hundred times more than you right now. You were close to her than the rest of them so you should be the one speaking with her first—"

Edwin was a little embarrassed that Amelia revealed his thoughts to others just like that. Darius stared at him wide-eyed as he wasn't aware of the fact that Edwin was in love with Celestia. "Do you really love her?!" Darius asked him.

"It doesn't matter anymore," Edwin shook his head. "And I'll do my best in convincing her—"

......

It was a sunny afternoon in the barren land. But Celestia didn't feel the heat of the sun as she had herself and Theo concealed under her shield. Now she had Theo's head on her lap and she was speaking something to him even though he couldn't hear her.

The people who had gathered in barren land were heartbroken to see their Dawn in this condition. They all were sure that Celestia would die soon as she had been in the same spot for more than eight days. Some of the Faes bought her food and they requested Dawn to eat. But she acted as if she didn't hear them at all. And some of the Faes and Mages tried to break her shield, but they were not powerful enough for that.

Now the people had completely lost hope that they could save their Dawn. And people started to mentally prepare themselves to face the death of their Dawn. Some were scared that the force of light will get weaker if the Dawn dies. So the High Fae Lords decided that they should perform a ritual to the sun god and seek his help to save their Dawn.

And that is when Edwin portaled to the barren lands and went near the invisible shield. The ache in his heart got severe when he saw Celestia, yet he had to stay strong to convince her!
