Forever Destined To The Silver Shadow

Chapter 57 - Victims Of The Valley Lands

Celestia's POV:

"Lord Magnus," Theo stressed out. "I am known as the greatest trickster in all three realms. And are you seriously trying to trick such a trickster like me with your lies?"

I turned back at the Northern Mage Lord, who was clutching his long green cape. I noticed that the upper part of the green robe had a design that was made of emerald stones.

Emerald stones are very rare, and the Northern Lord had them in his clothes! Well, the Mages of the Valley lands generally had more resources than the Southerners.

Magnus was silent for a long time before he began to speak again. "Why would I want to trick you, Silver Shadow? I decided to ignore you entirely, and I was peacefully ruling my region. But these Vampires are causing a catastrophe in our lands. And only you and the Dawn can stop them."

I still wasn't able to figure out how the Vampires could have gotten in the Valley regions! I looked at Theo again. I wasn't able to determine what was going on in his mind. He was neither shocked nor normal.

"The barrier is sealed, and my Demonic Warriors are guarding them. So it is not possible that Vampires could have gotten into your region," Theo answered back. "And even if the Vampires had crossed the barrier, I would have known about that. Because the Southern region is the edge of the barrier."

Magnus shrugged off uncomfortably. He then glanced at me and said, "The Vampires were able to create a portal directly to my region. And we were not able to defend ourselves because the Vampires arrived at the Valley at night time, and they had the moonstone with them."

Everything became clear to me. With the help of the moonstone, one can open a portal to anywhere in the three realms. But how did the Vampires get the moonstone? It was with the Demon Princess Lilin before!

I realized that Theo is the reason for this chaos too. He stole the moonstone and gave it to the Demon Princess Lilin. And with that moonstone, these Vampires are attacking the Valley regions.

"Fine! I will help you with this," Theo declared. "The Dawn and I will be in the Valley regions as soon as possible."

Lord Magnus bowed down to Theo and me before he left the courtroom. Then I turned to Theo, who was seated semi-naked in his throne.

Just by my glare, he understood that I was mad at him. He then raised his hand and ordered everyone to else leave the courtroom. Theo didn't say anything until everyone else left the room.

"Celestia, my love. You seem to have a lot to ask," he said to me.

"Exactly, " I yelled at him. "You are the reason for all this chaos. You gave the moonstone to the demons. Why would you even do something like that?"

Theo got up from his throne and came close to me. "Celestia, my sweetness. I had to give the moonstone to Demon Princess Lilin because she was my mentor and my final task was to retrieve the moonstone. You do know about the tradition of the learner repaying the mentor, don't you?"

I pressed my lips together after I heard his justification. "I do know about that tradition," I responded slowly.

When the mentor trains the learner completely, the learner is obligated to do anything that the mentor commands. This is considered as a deed of repaying to the mentor.

"So you didn't do this of your own will?" I questioned him again.

Theo shook his head immediately. "Why on the Aiden's name would I give the moonstone to the demons? And you know that I don't just give away powerful artifacts like that to my opponents."

Theo is right! He didn't give away the Icebreaker weapon to the Vampire King Ambrogio. Instead, he created a fake one and gave it to him. So it is evident that Lilin forced Theo into this.

"I understand you, Theo. You probably had no other way than that," I blurted out.

"Exactly, my sweetness. I knew that you would understand," Theo said and beamed at me.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have been to the Valley before, but this time this region looked so much pretty than before as it was the monsoon season. The stream was flowing with crystal clear water.
I felt a pang of sadness in my heart when I saw the greenish mountains of the highlands. I miss my home! I miss standing over the cliffs and viewing the sea.
Theo seemed to notice my distress. He clutched my hand and comforted me immediately. "One day, you will be able to go back there, Celestia," he said.
I smiled a little at him. I knew that he said it just to comfort me. He promised me that he would not interfere in the affairs of the Highlanders, and the same goes for me too.
Maybe it is better this way! The peace of this realm will sustain only if Father Oberon is the King.
Lord Magnus greeted us on the spot. I admired his attitude as he was so polite to us. He took us to a large tent that was on the banks of the stream.
I got even sadder when I stepped into the tent. Nine of the mage warriors were lying on the ground.
"These are the Mage warriors who got injured by the Vampires in yesterday's attack," Magnus asserted.
I took a step closer to the young mage warrior who was lying on the green grass. There were fang marks on his neck. His face was so pale and drained of any color.
"Holy Aiden," I gasped in horror. "His body has been drained of blood. He is probably going to turn into a Vampire soon."
"Exactly," Lord Magnus replied. "The Vampires bit these nine warriors. But the Dawn can be able to save them."
I was baffled by the revelation. "I can be able to save them?" I asked him again.
Lord Magnus nodded immediately. "The venom of the Vampire has not yet entirely spread into their bodies. So they still have a chance if they are given the antidote now."
"Antidote?" I said warily. "I don't know how to make it. You should have probably called a white witch instead of me."
"No….." Theo shouted out loud even before Magnus could reply to me.. "I won't let you do it, Celestia."
