Forever Destined To The Silver Shadow

Chapter 87 - Green Orc's Story

Celestia's POV:

The big green orc was scowling at me. I immediately moved away from the little orc and raised my hands. "We are not here to hurt any of you," I said.

Darius moved closer to me and looked up at the green orc, who was at least ten feet tall. She was wearing a ragged old brown cloth that covered her large body partially. Her brown hair was so long, and it extended up to her hips.

She eyed Darius and me warily. "Why did you two scare my child?"

"But…we did nothing," Darius said while he was still clutching the fire torch.

Soon more green orcs arrived at the spot, and one of the male green orcs lit up the fire torch that was on the cavern stone wall. The whole place got bright as the yellow light from the torch spread out everywhere.

There must be at least a hundred of them here. One big and old-looking orc came in front of us. "Let us imprison both of them here for trespassing in the cavern," he said.

"No!!!," Darius screamed out. "You can't do that because this lady over here is the Queen of the Lowlands."

The orcs gasped one after another. The old orc rolled his big hazel eyes at me in shock. "So you are the Dawn?"

"Yeah, she is the Dawn," Darius answered for me.

They all immediately got down on their knees and bowed to me just like everyone else did in this realm. I didn't know what to do! A moment ago, they were about to imprison both of us. Now they are showing respect to me.

"Dawn, thank you for arriving here. Please bless us all with your grace," the old orc mumbled.

"Everyone, please get up! This is completely unnecessary," I said to them.

They all obeyed my words immediately and got up from the ground.

"I knew that you were an Angel," the little green orc squealed while it was standing next to its mother.

Darius and I sat down on a big stony rock, and the rest of the orcs were seated on the surface below us. I almost forgot the actual reason why we're here.

Darius was the one to initiate a conversation with them. "Everyone in all three realms thinks that the green orc lineage has become extinct. So now tell me how you all got here?" he asked the old orc.

"Silver Shadow rescued us all from the Shadow Realm," the old orc responded and surprised me.

"Silver Shadow rescued you all?" I asked them doubtfully. I must have heard it wrong!

"Yes," the orc replied and shook me. "We were all front-line Demonic warriors in the past. The Demon Queen Lilith won so many battles against the light forces because of us. We were all living a happy life!"

"Then what happened?" I asked him eagerly.

The orc got sad by my question. Did I say something wrong?

"Since we were the front line warriors, Queen Lilith gave us a quest to retrieve something, and we failed in it," the orc continued. "She got furious at us, and she was about to trap us in the Doors of Damned*. That is when the Silver Shadow saved us."

I had a hard time believing what he said. Theo will never do something if it doesn't benefit him. I must find out why he saved these people!

"There must be a reason why Silver Shadow rescued you all. What is it?" I questioned them.

The orc got tensed. His enormous green scaly hands began to tremble. He then bowed his head a little and said, "I am sorry, Dawn. We orcs were on the quest to abduct you from the Celestial realm ten years ago. But we couldn't do it! We gave up as we didn't want to harm a little child."

So the Demon Queen has been scheming against me even when I was just a kid! I glanced at Darius immediately. Even he was dazed, just like me.

I turned back to the orc. "Ummm… you tried to abduct me, but you didn't do it! Thank you so much for not harming me!"

The orc raised his head again and looked at me. "But Queen Lilith didn't take it well when we said that we couldn't harm a child. So she was about to chastise us. We were all standing helplessly in front of the Doors of the Damned. That was when the Silver Shadow arrived," the orc paused for a while.

"He battled with the demonic forces and rescued us all from the Shadow Realm," the orc said.

"After that, Silver Shadow brought you all here to mine Emerald?" Darius interrupted.

"No, he didn't," the orc snapped at Darius. "Silver Shadow took us all to the Selene realm. But still, we green orcs were restless as we had no purpose in our lives. We felt guilty for everything we did to the Light Forces. So we prayed to the Moon Goddess to provide us salvation."

"And the Moon Goddess told you all to dig the surface?" Darius interrupted again.

I know why Darius is acting snarky now. He dislikes the Moon Goddess just like my father. I still don't understand why they both undervalue her.

"We are obligated to work in this emerald mine for the next hundred years as a penance for all the evil we did against the Light Forces. After that, the Moon Goddess promised us that she would turn us into creatures of light," the orc stated.

Darius didn't say anything after that. I was so impressed by Theo! He rescued these green orcs and gave them all a second chance.

And he got nothing in return from this! This revelation changes everything! Theo is not entirely evil! He is capable of goodness too.

"Dawn, you are the main reason why we all changed," the female orc next to him said. "Once we turn into Light creatures after a hundred years, we all would like to work for you."

My heart literally melted after that. These people are so kind!

"The Dawn needs a favor from you," Darius said out of the blue and startled me.
