Forever Destined To The Silver Shadow

Chapter 90 - What Is Sapphire's Truth?

Celestia's POV:

Tangerine somehow flew back to my room in the morning. I was so happy to have her back. I made her get inside the golden cage and locked up the little door of the cage immediately. I am not going to let her out for a long time!

Whatever Theo said to me the previous night kept reeling on my head. He said that he never pleaded with anyone even when he had nothing! What does that mean?

So Theo was in a state when he had nothing with him? But Queen Cynthia treats Theo like his son! He must have grown up in the Selene Kingdom like a prince.

That evil trickster must have lied to lure me back into his trap. What does he even think of me? I am not gullible anymore! I am not going to believe anything that comes out of his mouth.

I lied down on my bed and looked up at the unlit fire chandelier that was above me. He has imprisoned me in this room forever! At least I get to lie down in a warm and cozy bed.

My friends are locked up in the cold dungeon below! I don't know whose fault it is this time. I certainly didn't make them come here. It was all Darius's idea.

Now that I think of it, the idea of seizing the crown from Theo is ridiculous! I should have stopped Darius from carrying out his plan and sent him back to the Highland.

Theo is a freak of nature who has bizarre powers. He is always ten steps ahead of everyone else. One cannot just scheme against him and win.

I blame the almighty creator for this! He created Theo and provided him with these bizarre powers, and now he is disrupting the peace in the realm.

An hour after the sunrise, Amelia got into my room, and she brought me food on a golden plate. She also sprinkled some berries into Tangerine's cage even before I could stop her.

"Why did you give her berries?" I shouted at her.

Amelia turned to me in confusion. "I thought that birds liked to eat berries."

"Yeah, they do. But Tangerine won't eat anything that a stranger gives to her," I asserted.

But to my surprise, tangerine picked up the berries with her beak and began to nibble them. This is unusual! Amelia raised her eyebrow at me while I stared back at her in disbelief.

"She rarely accepts food from strangers," I mumbled. "How were you able to do it?"

Amelia smiled at my statement. She seemed very pretty to me. Well, Sirens are generally charming, but she appeared very graceful.

"Thank you for the compliment," Amelia responded and made me shudder. How was she able to read my mind?

"I am a gifted Siren! Even if you inject yourself with Unicorn's blood, I will be able to read your mind," she answered.

"But how is that possible? And what is meant by gifted Siren?" I almost cried out.

"Gifted Sirens are more potent than the normal Sirens. We can see through all the shields, and we can allure anyone if we want," she explained to me.

For a moment, I adored her sweet voice. Then I came back to my senses. She was able to feed Tangerine! My pet is intelligent, but even she wasn't able to suppress the alluring power of this gifted Siren.

"But we are also a rare kind. There are very few of us in the Selene kingdom," she continued.

I wondered if Ivory is a gifted Siren. She was Theo's lady love, so she must be gifted.

"No, Ivory isn't gifted," Amelia responded to me immediately. "But our Queen Cynthia is gifted."

That explains why she is the Queen of Sirens! But I still don't understand what Theo sees in Ivory. She is jealous and rude in nature. Only after Amelia laughed out loud, I realized that I was thinking too much. I forgot that she could overhear anything that I think in my mind.

"Don't worry! Your thoughts are safe with me," Amelia said. "None of the Siren girls like Ivory. And you should also know that Ivory is mean to everyone. You are not alone in this!"

"If I were the Queen, I would have kicked her out of my kingdom," I said out in excitement. My statement made Amelia laugh out even more.

She calmed herself down a little and said, "Celestia, you are the Queen of Lowlands now. You can kick out Ivory from the lowlands if you want. And Theo loves you more than his life, and he will probably agree with you if you decide to banish Ivory."

A sigh escaped from my throat, and I got gloomy again when she mentioned Theo. But Amelia is really gifted! She made me forget all of my misery, at least for a minute.

I expected that she would defend Theo and talk him up to me. But she said nothing! She quietly stared at me for a brief period and said, "Do you know who else a gifted Siren is? Sapphire was a gifted Siren!"

The name sounded so familiar to me. Where have I heard that name before? I struggled hard to remember who it was.

"She was Theo's mother," Amelia answered and helped me.

Then it hit me! Darius and my father told me the story of how Sapphire enchanted a Fae to fall in love with her, and she got pregnant with his child. Soon after she gave birth to Theo, she died because it is against nature for a Siren to procreate.

"Since Sapphire was a gifted Siren, she was able to enchant a Fae to fall in love with her?" I raised a question to her.

She got grim and shook her head after she heard my question. "What you Highlanders say about Sapphire is untrue! She was very sensible and kind-hearted, just like you."

"Like me?" I gasped.

"Yeah, I think that is why Theo loves you a lot, as you remind him of the women he never had in his life," Amelia said.

I didn't know how to respond to her after that. From what she says, Theo seems to have a heart after all!

"Okay," I breathed out. "If Highlanders are spreading false stories about Sapphire, then what is her truth?"
