Forever Destined To The Silver Shadow

Celestia's POV: 

"Sapphire was the epitome of beauty and kindness in our realm," Amelia began. "She was one of the best singers among us, and she was the Queen's favorite girl. Whenever she played the harp, even the Sirens got allured to her mellifluous music."

Now I see where Theo got his ability to allure everyone by playing his harp! 

"Exactly," she retorted after she heard my thoughts. "Theo has got all the charms that his mother had."

That is why he looks so attractive! Even the Demon princess Lilin fell to his charms miserably. 

"Sapphire was fine until the unfortunate event happened," Amelia sighed.

"What happened?" I asked her curiously. 

She paused and tugged her strawberry blonde hair behind her ears. Her hair was a mixture of gold and red. For a moment, I wished that I had some reddish hue in my plain blonde hair like her. 

"It is forbidden for any man to enter our kingdom," Amelia proceeded with her explanation. "A lot of men from all three realms have tried to get into our kingdom illegally, and our Queen reprimanded those fugitives. One such fugitive arrived at our island, and unfortunately, Sapphire was the first one to spot him."

Interesting! So that is how they met." But why did that fugitive Fae get into Selene illegally?" I raised a question. 

"Men generally get in our realm as they are fascinated by us," she sighed. "That is the reason why Queen Cynthia reprimands the trespassers. But Sapphire was so kind in nature, so she didn't take the fugitive to the Queen. Instead, she hid him in her house for a while."

"So that is when they both fell in love?" 

Amelia nodded. "Their love was mutual. But the Fae promised her that he would spend the rest of her life with her. Sapphire was so naive, and she believed everything that he said to her. He lied to her just to spend a night with her. And the very next morning, he was gone! He took her maidenhood, and he left the very next day without even bidding farewell to her."

"That is awful!" I cried out loud. "Why would someone do such a terrible thing to a woman? And I can't believe that a Fae would do such a thing!"

"Everyone is capable of evil, Celestia," Amelia stated. "Don't think that only shadow creatures are capable of doing evil."

I understand that now. "What happened to Sapphire seems to be unjustifiable," I blurted out. 

"Yeah, it is! Sapphire was devastated, and she never smiled at all after that. Things became even more… worse for her when she got pregnant. The Queen found out about her affair only after that. She got furious at Sapphire, and banished her from the Selene realm."

"But that seems to be even crueler," I blurted out. "Why would the Queen banish a pregnant woman?"

"She had no other choice than that. The Queen had to punish her for her wrongdoings, or else a lot of other Sirens would have made the same mistake like Sapphire," she justified. 

But still, I wasn't able to accept it. Abandoning someone when they need you the most is brutal! 

"After that, Sapphire had nowhere to go. She tried to sneak into the Highlands to reunite with her Fae lover, but he rejected her. Sapphire then went to King Oberon's court for justice. But Oberon is a shrewd man. He turned the tables and made everyone believe that Sapphire is an enchantress who seduced a Fae and got pregnant with his child on purpose."

"What?" I screamed and got up from my bed. "My Father really did that?"

"Yes," she responded and lowered her gaze down. "Poor Sapphire was labeled as a wicked enchantress in the Highlands. No one stood by her after that! Even the Mages refused to take aid for her. So she moved into the forest of light and lived there alone until she gave birth to Theo."

I felt very sorry for Sapphire! I can't imagine how much she would have suffered alone in the woods.

"Yeah, she suffered a lot," Amelia said. "And after she gave birth to Theo, she died immediately. She lost her life even before she could see or hold her infant child in her arms! After Sapphire died, Queen Cynthia decided to raise the newborn baby Theo in the Selene Kingdom."

A teardrop rolled down my cheeks after that. Sapphire didn't deserve this! She was an innocent woman who got tricked by a wicked Fae. He used her for one night and then just discarded her? 

And my father refused to provide her justice and sided with the Fae?!!! I didn't expect this from him. I thought he was a righteous man! 

"That is what Theo was trying to say to you, Celestia," Amelia said. "Your father provides justice only to Faes. He doesn't care if other entities in the realm live or die."

Now I understand everything. And that is why Theo hates Father Oberon so much! 

"Theo wants to overpower King Oberon because of this purpose," she added. "Ever since he was a kid, he desired to become the King and provide a fair rule to everyone. But now, his desire has changed."

I blinked at her skeptically. "But he still desires to be the King!"

She shook her head and said, "Not as much as he desires you! When I heard that he promised you not to invade the Highlands, I was stunned. Do you know how many times Queen Cynthia pleaded with Theo to give up his ambition? But he never listened to her!"

So are his feelings for me true?!!! 

"Trust me, Celestia! I am a gifted Siren, and I can comprehend his inner emotions. Theo loves you so much that he can't stand to see you hurt. He has never been in this much love with any of his lovers before."

I was so much impressed by everything that she said. I have always criticized Theo for his desire for the realm. I thought that he was power-thirsty! But I never knew he had his reasons! 

Suddenly, Theo got into the room and startled me. But his gaze was fixed on Amelia.. "Looks like you ladies are having a lovely time here," he said while he was looking at her.
