8 chapter 8 | slime and tangents

Good, this implant is very helpful. Everything around me was well, Alien so what would be common sense to the general human population doesn't really apply with these people.

Thankfully the implant helped bridge the culture and technological barrier in a more linear way. The learning curve was flatten and without that I would have gotten a much harder time trying to understand the room I was given.

Even though I was hungry I also smelled rancid and I don't think that could make a good impression on my second encounter with these 'Sovereigns' so I did the most logical thing and decided to take a bath.....how do I do that?

When I woke up from my abduction  a while back my body seemed to not be dirty. A sign that made me wonder if there was anything that resembled a bathroom near me. Apparently the Lizards are fond of cleanliness and organization. In fact those 2 are a pivotal part of their culture.

Now it's time to ask the question of the century though. Where was the bath? Was there even a bath?

There was! Well, sort of. Thanks to the helpful implant I learned the Sovereigns use a special capsule that at a closer look had the shape of a human with bigger head space  and a slot for the tail to be inserted in.

Once the capsule was closed a black sticky paste would be sprayed around the 'person' inside. Subsequently after a few seconds of it covering the body and cleaning it the paste would be sucked out to be used again for up to 4 rotations continuously which as I learned through the implant was about 5 days counting by an earth standard day.

From the looks of it their home planet moved slightly different from ours therefore causing discrepancies in time counting. Well that was going to be a brainwreck.

Anyways, the result of all of the above was that I was cleaner than a babies' thoughts. Following through the morning routine I also learned how these Aliens did their version of number 1 and number 2…...don't get me started on that one. What I went through is going to bring me nightmares for days to come, I'm sure.

Anyways, they were kind enough to leave the swiss army knife in my possession. A knife I am currently equipping and for some stupid reason makes me feel more secure of myself. Stupid, I know.

At the moment there were guards all over the ship and a strict monitoring system that could sometimes even know what you were going to do before you did it due to it knowing common behavioral patterns and processing massive amounts of data every second.

Even though I'm fairly sure they don't have enough data to create a profile for my kind currently, the fact that such security existed meant that a swish army knife could be considered a children's toy in their eyes. They probably considered it very primitive and not worth their effort.

After checking myself out. Black pants, red shirt, black jacket and a numb face from showing so many expressions during my little study session I was ready to head out into the world. The dining are.

The ship I'm currently in is supposed to be a medium sized one but to me it looked as big as if you placed the world trade center building sideways and filled it with people and scificy stuff.

By the world trade center I mean the new one being built not the one that went kaput back in 2001.

Anyways I'm really loving going into tangents. I hope it doesn't become a bad habit.

Back to reality though I was being guided by an implant created HUD on top of my vision currently.  I set the route to the 'convenience room' as worded by the implant which I assumed was a word lost in translation meaning cafeteria.

While on my walk I was having a lot around the ship. The Sovereigns seemed to be crewing as previously mentioned around 300 people on this ship. While walking around I noticed not all Lizards looked the same. Most of all shared around the same proportions.

Some of them I labeled as Females due to their resemblance to their human counterparts. From my observation the lizard people had a population divided 50-50 between male and female and it looked like both shared the same rights and responsibilities.

I also notice a few lemur looking people. It was hard to not notice them too since they towered way above any of us.

Us being me and the Lizards. Unlike the Lizards who carried a thin layer of ceramic plating around their clothes that could be labeled as armor the Lemurs were wearing casual clothes and always seemed to be doing menial labor such as moving crates around or maintaining the ship clean.

The Lizards always looked to be on a hurry and every time I passed by one through the hallways they would give me a quick look as if showing interest in who I was but not once did any stop to give me anything close to a conversation.

After walking for a bit I noticed I still had a while to go so I decided to do something I hadn't done in a while. Not because I didn't want to but because I wasn't in the right mindset or had the time to do.

I pulled out my phone from my right jacket pocket and surprisingly it had 100 percent battery on it. As soon as I opened the phone the implant started talking in my head again.

[Your 'smartphone' has been scanned and the results show that while the technology level is low some components such as the tactile screen have been recognized as noteworthy and you've been credited 10,000 merits to your account]

I was not expecting that. Hopefully I can use those somehow. I have way too many questions now but thankfully we can set those aside now.  I'm almost reaching the cafeteria and I'm starving to get anything.

"Guess the phone has to wait for another time huh"

Like so, I entered the Alien cafeteria for the first time. I wonder what new experience I'll get?
