Heartless

My heart felt stifled the moment after I smiled, like it was skipping every other beat. I quickly teleported myself back to the bridge, the scene quickly clearing my head.

Police sirens were blasting loudly in my ears. They were scouging the town as if looking for someone, who knows how many have entered the forest by now. Perhaps my actions from before had opened the pandora's box, but for the first time in a long while, I felt annoyance.

Is it in humans nature to ignore the danger signs? The instinct telling you that it's dangerous to go into the forest?

"I found her!" one of them called, beaming a flashlight at my eyes, blinding me for a second. I let them shackle me as one of them said, "You are under arrest for murder, you have the right to remain silent." [1]

With the emotion of annoyance clouding her mind, she didn't even notice the lack of mischievous vampires.
