HE/HEROINE AND MY VILLAINESS

(THE SOUND OF WAVES)

"Ei? Brother, why are you blushing? Are you embarrassed?" Clark asks with a grinning smile, teasing Jin.

"SHUT UP!" Jin barked at him while glaring. He then stormed outside the tent with an irritated feeling and a flushed face, from feeling embarrassment.

"Stop teasing him," Sir Arnold demanded with a caring smile. But Clark responds with a laugh.

"But my brother is fun to tease," Clark responds with a laugh.

'Aish… these brothers of mine,' Sir Arnold thought, sighing in relief as he felt warm seeing them teasing each other like a kid again.

Back at the Duke residence, Angela is inside Lady Cathlen's room, accompanying Alda as she lends her some books to read, but all the books she gives her are not to her liking.

"Aish! Angela, don't mind those books," Alda mentions, irritated because all the books Angela recommends to her are all straight, cheesy, and full of Clichy plot.

"Then what do you want us to do, Miss?" Angela asks, curious.

"How about you massage my arms and feet instead? Is that okay with you?" Alda answered

"Yes is okay, Miss," Angela answered with a grateful smile.

"Thank you, don't worry once I recover." She touched Angela's shoulder and continued talking.

"I will treat you to a night out in town with all the things you want," Alda promises her, and Angela's eyes light up with excitement.

"Are you sure, Miss?" Angela asks, standing up from the chair full of excitement.

Alda mentioned it with a daring smile, but then she remembered some things that made her smile freeze.

'Actually, I already lied countless times, jeje,' Alda thought, feeling uncomfortable.

"Thank you, Miss!" Angela exclaimed as she hugged Alda tighter without warning, making Alda startled for a second, then relaxed.

"Uh-hahaha, yes, yes." Her voice is filled with awkwardness.

"You're welcome," she awkwardly laughed within her words. She hugs her back and pats her head twice. They hug for a few seconds. Then Alda let go because she now felt uncomfortable and wrong about hugging another woman for a long time, other than Yerre.

"Let me get an ointment first, Miss," Angela mentions and Alda nods. Angela then goes to get the ointment from Lady Cathlen's drawer and goes back to where Alda is waiting.

"Okay, Miss, give me your right arm," Angela demanded, as Alda then rested her right arm on Angela.

"Here, be gentle. My body still felt weak, "Alda mentions, which sounds dirty inside her mind. Then a scene of Yerre saying dirty words to her flashed in her mind, making her gasp and scolding her mind in haste as she washed away all the nasty thoughts inside her mind.

'The fuck! Please halt! Stop, stop, stop! This instant! That is not right! Please halt! Stop being a bad person here, brain! I love Yerre. I cherish her, and I respect her. So, stop, stop! ' Alda complains inside her thoughts, pissed off as she felt very wrong about herself upon thinking dirty thoughts about her simple words every time she spoke a gentle reply to Angela.

"Don't worry, Miss. " Angela said.

"I'm an expert on massage," Her eyes showed delight and warmth, which made Alda relax and sigh in relief, then nod.

"Okay, I trust you to do it then, Angela," Alda replies, as Angela smiles at her.

"Okay, Miss," Angela responds as she then massages Alda's right arms first.

Alda called it "Angela."

"Yes, Miss?" Angela replies as she focuses on massaging her.

"You don't have errands to do today?" Alda asks Angela if she remembers anything.

Angela mentions that she didn't have any errands to run today, Miss, but she would meet Mia tomorrow, which made Alda curious.

"Oh, where are you two going to meet tomorrow?" Alda asks.

Angela saw Alda's shocked and concerned expression, so she reacted quickly.

"It's not what you think, Miss. We're going to meet at the inn. to make sure that no one is monitoring our every move, "Angela explains in a rush.

"Ahhh, so that's why I thought it was something, ahem!" Alda pretended to clear her throat as Angela reacted quickly to her words.

"We will never do such a thing, Miss," Angela answers while she continues massaging Lady Cathlen's arm.

"Why not?" Alda blurts out, which made Angela look at her with weird feelings and expressions.

"What do you mean, Miss?" Angela asks as she raises her right brows in confusion.

"Oh, is nothing. Don't mind it, haha, "Alda answered, without looking at her as she felt dumb by her words.

What the fuck? Stop, stop, stop! Stop this now, brain! Ha! What am I even saying? These two young women are straight! How could I think such a thing about them? I am such a bad person. Why am I even thinking dirty thoughts about their friendships? I should clean my mind from now on with holy water. Yes, that's right, holy water. I need holy water,' Alda, punching, slapping, and praying inside her thoughts.

"Angela, do we have holy watered?" Alda asks without even thinking as she gets caught up in her thoughts and feelings.

"Huh? Holy water? What did I miss? " Angela asks in confusion.

"Oh, to cleanse my soul and mind. Just kidding is nothing, is nothing, is nothing, is nothing, is nothing, is nothing, is nothing, is nothing, is nothing. Don't mind it, haha, " Angela feels uncertain about whether to let go of their strange topic, so she sighs and thinks about it for a second, then she comes up with the decision not to mind it anymore.

"Okay, Miss. Do you have something for me to get you tomorrow in town, Miss? I can buy it while I hang out with Mia, "Angela mentions with an innocent eye, making Alda feel guilty for thinking such a thing. Alda sighs in distress as she smiles at Angela and replies.

"No, I don't. "Enjoy your day with your childhood friend tomorrow," Alda responds with a gentle smile as she gazes at her.

"Em, I will. "Thank you, Miss," Angela replies, happy and excited.

"You are welcome." Alda gives out a wistful smile, then remembers something.

"Oh, Angela, can I ask you something?"

"What is it, Miss?" Angela asks.

"What month and date is it today?" Alda mentions

"Oh, it is already December thirteen, Miss," Angela answers as Alda nods in slow motion, thinking through the month and date that Angela mentions to her.

"Ahh, December," Alda mentions for a second as her face then shows disbelief and shock.

'What should I do? Yerre and I have been here for almost three months already? We died in September on the date of September twelve. Inside the book, the month and date are the same. So, that means, Yerre's twenty birthday is coming up!' Alda pondered. Alda's birthday is on July twenty-six, while Yerre's is on December nineteen.

"Oh, my god. I have to think of a surprise for her! I can't wait to see her and surprise her! Alda uttered in a whisper and squealed in silence from excitement as she sat up in bed without thinking, making her body react and vibrate from abrupt action.

"Aiya! Aiyoyoyo, aish…" Alda hisses from the pain as she touches her back with her left arm.

"Miss! Why did you sit up all of a sudden? " Angela scolded her as she got shocked and panicked upon seeing her in pain. Alda gazes at her with a pained expression, but she still forces a calm smile on her.

"Uh-hahaha, sorry," Alda apologized as Angela let out a deep sigh, then helped her lay back on the bed.

"Tell me first if you want to sit up, Miss, don't hurt yourself. The Duchess and the Duke will feel distressed if you get hurt any further, "Angela mentions Lady Cathlen's parents," which spoils Alda's mood and makes her feel irritated.

"Oh, they will? Where are they? Why haven't they visited me yet? " Alda asks, controlling her voice to sound annoyed.

"The Duke went to inform the King about the problem in the southern kingdom. And the Duchess is still arranging the mansion problem, Miss, don't worry. "Tonight they will visit you," Angela answers, giving her an assuring smile.

"Em," Alda responds. She doesn't care if Lady Cathlen visits her or not, because she feels like she's used to it already.

'Aiyo, this thing is not new to me. My actual parents are also always absent whenever they are most needed. 'So...'Alda thought as a memory of her actual parents flashed through her, with no warning, making her surprised and recognizing something.

'Haaa, I only realize now, Cathlen and I almost have the same parents. They always focus on their careers, work, and problems. That they forgot to look and check the thing they decided to create and raise. Whenever their child was longing for them and searching for warmth, they were always absent,' Alda thought as she heaved a sigh.

"Forget it! I don't need any of those anymore, "Alda whispers under her breath.

'I'm contented to have myself and the person I love beside me. Besides, they're not my actual parents. What's the use of longing for something that you don't even own in the first place? 'Alda thought in silence as she closed her eyes, calming herself, then opened them again, but this time her eyes showed despair and sadness.
