Heroine On Strike
CH 46
Magicians were flying around the never-ending bookshelves, books were hovering around, and magical powders fluttered here and there. While Ella was fascinated by what she saw, someone approached her. It was he, who Ella wanted to meet.
“Welcome, Lady Constance of the Blue Wind. May the Moonlight of the Wing guide your path,” said the young boy as he politely greeted her. He was about 5 feet tall with hair and eyes that were sky blue. This boy claimed that he loved greeting guests like her and was amazed by Luciella’s intelligence in the novel. He found conversations with her to be enjoyable. As such, he gave her permission to visit the tower whenever she wanted to. Luciella frequently visited the tower whenever she had problems. Sometimes, the boy came to her instead.
Since her arrival to this world, Ella looked forward to meeting him the most. Every solution to every problem in this world came from him. She had so many questions for him. If she wanted to avoid following the plot of the original story as much as she could, Ella would have visited him the day after she had first arrived in this world. None of that mattered anymore. What was important now was to give him a good first impression.
Ella made the most beautiful smile she could make, and watched him. She then casually coughed up her voice.
“Thank you for your warm welcome. I wish that the Moonlight’s blessing is always upon you.”
The boy seemed surprised by Ella’s polite greeting, then smiled brightly. “Wow. I’m surprised you know that greeting. Young ladies these days sure know a lot of things. Knowledge is a virtue, isn’t it?”
His words sounded more mature than he was supposed to be. It felt funny reading it in the novel, but seeing it in the real world looked very weird. Unknowingly, her smile slowly turned into a frown. Ella’s feelings of disgust were strong because she knew what his true form was. All she wanted to do was yell at him to stop that guise immediately. However, he and Ella were seeing each other for the first time. It was normal for her to not know why he was speaking in such a way in that look. In the story, Luciella treated him like a boy until he revealed his true form. Back then, he had introduced himself as a 14-year-old boy.
“Lady Constance, are you ill? Are you uncomfortable? Or, maybe you find the way I speak to be weird? I apologize, but I speak like this because I live around old people. Please understand. I am only 14 years old.”
‘Lies! Stop lying, you old man!’ thought Ella. She was starting to get tired of her fake smile. Because he was lying to her, she needed to do the same.
“I’m sorry. I came to visit the tower on behalf of my brother, but my headache caused me to make a disrespectful expression. I’m sorry to make you feel disturbed, sir.”
“No, no. Don’t be. It is the headache that is bad for disturbing such a beautiful lady. How long have you had it? Is it this part below the back of your head that hurts? I may look like this, but I know a lot about headaches…”
‘Aw, crap. I pressed the trigger.’ Ella became dark. She had pressed the trigger of his knowledge box. He wasn’t going to stop talking until he told her everything he knew about that specific topic. Luciella had ways of stopping him, but Ella couldn’t use any of them during their first meeting. The boy began to unleash every bit of knowledge he knew like an old man who didn’t know when to stop chattering. All the magicians around them moved away from them. She had no choice but to interrupt him while he was talking and took out Evan’s letter from her bag.
“Sir, I’m thankful that you’re sharing your knowledge with me, but I need to give this letter to the owner of this tower as soon as possible. Can you guide me to him?” asked Ella.
The boy suddenly stopped at once. His eyes immediately became cold. “Your brother has a letter for the Master of the Tower?”
“Yes, sir.”
“Interesting. But the Master doesn’t just take any letter.”
“I believe I can only give this letter to the Master.”
“Do you know the contents of this letter too?” asked the boy with a hint of irritation in his voice and flicked his finger.
It seemed he had forgotten he was under disguise. The letter was meant for the owner of the Tower and not the apprentice. Ella, who knew his true identity, gave the letter to him. For a second, he stared at her, then rudely ripped the envelope open and read it. When he was finished, he crumpled the letter and turned to her.
“This letter. Is it true?”
“If you are talking about the rain, yes.”
The boy glared at Ella for a while, then brushed his hair back annoyingly. At once, his body began to grow up.
