During dinner at the Carter residence, Charles and Evelyn sat together, while Ethan and Gideon sat with their wives respectively.

Isaac naturally could only sit with Madison.

After taking a seat, Freya looked up at Rebecca emotionally.

They had not seen each other in almost three years. This meant she had not met him in three years either.

Isaac smiled and asked, “Freya, are you not used to this atmosphere?”

“It feels a little too serious and stifling.”

Freya could not help nodding on hearing this. “No wonder Ethan seems more serious. Do you mean Madison has an older brother complex?”

The man smiled. “I wouldn’t call it that. It is more like a Gideon complex. She only obsesses over him and not the rest of us.”

“What’s so good about Gideon? I would pick you any day.”

Despite her soft tone, Gideon caught it. He glanced at her coldly. “You are not allowed to speak while you dine in this household. Be quiet.”

Isaac smiled ambiguously, but his arm suddenly hurt as he smiled.

Madison had pinched Isaac where it hurt the most.

He could not help frowning. “What are you doing?”

Madison glared at him fiercely. “Serves you right for speaking ill of me. This is just a warning!”

Isaac went speechless.

Other than Charles and Evelyn, only Ethan and Rebecca were having dinner properly.

They were like the model couple in the household. Every now and then, Ethan would place food in Rebecca’s bowl over dinner, and Rebecca would smile and thank him.

In Freya’s opinion, there was hardly any expression on Rebecca’s face, so it seemed rather cold. In the past, Rebecca was warm and laughed a lot. She was completely different from the old Rebecca she used to know.
After dinner, Freya disregarded Gideon and openly pulled Isaac’s arm. “You promised to give me autographs.”

The man raised his brow and smiled. “That’s right. Where shall I sign it?”

Freya contemplated briefly. Then, she looked at herself and said, “Why don’t you sign it on my sleeve and on my pant leg, I will give one of them to my friend when I see her..”
