POV (Nick)

After looking through the whole medical tent I was finally able to find Shizuka-chan. She seems to be working very diligently, well at least she is interested in something. I kept watching her for a few minutes... Shizuka was humming some unknown song like she always does and kept arranging the stuff. I slowly reached from behind so that I could surprise her but she suddenly turned around with a pout on her face.

Shizuka: Mou~... Nick-chan, don't sneak on me...!!

She pouted trying to show that she is angry but that ain't working she is damn cute like this... wait... how did she even sense me? Did she awaken powers like Sakeo-chan? I guess asking won't hurt anyone.

Nick: Sorry sorry... how have you been Shizuka-chan?

Shizuka: So unfair~... I don't get anytime to spend with you~.

Nick: Don't worry... after this bug incident is over I will take you to a date like I took Saeko-chan. So what do you say about it?

Shizuka: Nope... I want to go on a picnic under the stars~

Nick: Sure... if that's what you want. So Shizuka-chan, how did you sense me?

Shizuka: Don't know~, I just knew it that it was you~.

Shizuka: Are you going out there again?

She asked me in a unusual tone, her tone didn't have any airheadedness which she usually haves. But her tone was sad and serious.

Nick: Yes, I have to...

Shizuka: Even if I you cannot be harmed but it doesn't stops me from worrying...

She places her hand on cheek and c.a.r.e.s.s it gently. I have only heard her once like this. The time when I first told her that I am not a human. It really makes me that she cares about me so much. This only makes to finish my work outside and return as soon as possible. I kissed her again and after promising her that I will return as soon as possible I left.

I entered the building and headed towards my room. Soon after a few moments I reached my room and opened the door. Saeko and Rika seemed to be watching some cliche romance movie on a laptop. Saya collected movies and tv shows for them to watch. Both of them noticed me and turned towards me.

Rika: We heard what happened?

Nick: Yeah... it was bad. We need to seal all the exits and entrances to the sewer before we try to do anything to those bugs.

Saeko: Can we come Danna-sama?

Rika: When she heard about c.o.c.kroaches she got drunk and went to sleep.

Nick: Oh... well, both of you don't need to force yourself if you don't want to come.

Saeko: No no... we will go.

Saeko and Rika didn't even gave me any chance to speak anymore and got ready in a blink of eye. I guess if a woman gets ready this fast then she really wants to go... or maybe get this over with as soon as possible. I went to next room to check on Saya-chan and found her sound asleep. I kissed her forehead which made a small smile appear on her face and covered her with the blanket and left the room along with Saeko and Rika.

Soon the three of us reached the ground floor and found about forty waiting for my orders. This is better than nothing at least. I went in front of them to give them order.

Nick: All of you must have heard what happened.

A loud chorus of 'yes' was heard.

Nick: Well our job is to seal the entrances and exits of the sewers. The fast we are the fast we can take care of this menace. Get all the welding equipment you can get hands. We leave in thirty minutes.

Another chorus of 'yes' was heard and they immediately went away to arrange the equipment and get the vehicles ready. I could Yuriko coming towards my direction, she also seems to be wanting to ask something.

Nick: What happened?

Yuriko: We so many people increasing our food stock will only last for two more weeks. They will be bringing their food stock but that will also only last for about one month.

Nick: So we only have food for one and a half month... right?

Yuriko: Yes... even we have started planting the crops, they will still take a couple of months and even if they were it won't be enough.

Nick: After this underground problem is over I will raid the train yard and the docks and get as much as food we can get.

Yuriko: Ok... that will work fine I guess.

Soon all the men gathered back in vehicles along with welding equipment. Two trucks and three APCs, I took out my own APC which was painted in the similar style my vtol was painted. I entered the APC followed by Alice, Saeko, and Rika. Saeko-chan took the driving seat like she usually likes. I have already ordered the men to follow my APC.

We left the base and went towards the nearest street which hasn't been sealed. I instructed one APC to stop at one end and another one at the other end of the street. We soon cleared the whole street after that and all of us exited the vehicle.

Nick: Ten of you guard that end and you ten guard the other end. The rest of you help the welding team.

After almost an hour the whole sewer system on the street was sealed. I asked Rika to inform Soichiro that this street is completely sealed, which she did. Soichiro also informed that Genma's men also sealed the sewers pipes outside the city. There were still some left but soon they will be also sealed.

Alice: How long do you think this will take to seal the whole city like this?

Nick: Maybe one week...??

Even I wasn't sure how long this will take to seal the whole city like this if only a small street like this took so much time. If the zombies weren't here we won't need to guard the streets.

~TIMESKIP 6 DAYS~

Six days passed in an blink of eye and everyone was busy with sealing the streets and who weren't here they were busy guarding the base or helping to increase the area of our base. Genma's team also worked really hard and finally we were sealing the last manhole. After this all of the manholes and pipes which the c.o.c.kroaches could use to exit the sewers.

Genma: So what now?

Nick: Fill the sewers with fuel and light it up.

Even if we sealed all the pipes and the manholes there were still vents which would allow the the fire to burn.

A man came in front and marked all the fuel pumps within the city. We aren't going to need all of those. Raiding only some of those fuel pumps will do the job.

Nick: Raid these 14 fuel pumps... I guess that will do the job. If we need more then will raid more... ok move out everyone...!!
