Chapter 142: Their own Halloween

Halloween is here.

It was still raining heavily outside the window, and the sky was as dark as ink, but the house was bright and cheerful.

The firelight illuminated countless soft armchairs. The young wizards from the four major colleges sat in the common rooms of their respective schools, reading, chatting, and doing homework, happily preparing to welcome the festival.

In the Ravenclaw common room, this year’s Halloween happened to be on a Sunday. Ivis and Hermione were rarely studying. They were playing wizard chess.

Before the chess game started, Hermione vowed that she would never lose to Ives.

Later, she found out that she was very wrong, and she was almost killed by Ives. Her chess piece was shouting:”Can you play or not! If not, get out of the way and find someone who can play chess!”

Ives looked at her with a smile and said nothing,”You know, my chess skills are good.” Comparable to the old man playing chess in the park!

The little girl Luna was sitting next to them watching the game. She curiously poked at the black king that was eaten and placed outside the chessboard.

The Black King suddenly pulled out the long sword hanging on his waist and stabbed Luna.

But Luna reacted quickly. She flicked the bow with her right hand, sending it flying several meters away.

Roger Davis, who was passing by and enjoying a glass of butterbeer, happened to bump into Black’s king’s flight path.

He jumped up with a yelp – he felt as if something had stabbed him in the butt – and spilled the butterbeer in his hand.

Roger looked at the empty cup in his hand with a pale face. This was the last thing he had in stock, and he hadn’t even taken a few sips!

He turned around and saw a black chess piece holding a long sword lying at his feet. He shouted angrily:”Who is it? Who attacked me!”

Luna sat upright as if answering the teacher’s answer. Raising his hands,”It’s me.”

Roger was caught off guard by Luna’s attitude. He was mentally prepared to not be able to find the murderer. He never expected that anyone would take the initiative to admit it.

He put the chess pieces in Luna’s hand and said helplessly:”Next time, don’t throw the chess pieces around in public.”

“Okay,” Luna replied with her eyes wide open and her tone erratic, not sure if she heard it or not.

……

In the Gryffindor common room, twin brothers Fred and George Weasley were studying the effects of giving a fire scorpion some hard-drawn fireworks.

Fred had”rescued” this bright orange-red scorpion from the Care of Magical Creatures class. At the moment, it was lying on a table burning sullenly, surrounded by a group of curious people.

The salamander that had eaten the fireworks jumped up into the air, spinning wildly in the room, crackling and releasing sparks, accompanied by some loud noises.

The salamander sprayed orange-red stars from its mouth, which was very beautiful and spectacular. It fled into the fire with a series of explosions.

“Oops!”The expressions of George and Fred changed. The sparks ejected from the salamander’s mouth hit Percy and almost set his hair on fire.

Before they could escape the scene of the crime, Percy caught them.

The twins hung their heads and were scolded severely by Percy in a hoarse voice.

A burst of lively cheers erupted in the common room. The twins were simply the pistachios of Gryffindor.

……

In the Hufflepuff common room,

Hannah and Neville were taking care of a pot of succu

lents. Not far away, Cedric was surrounded by a large group of wizards.

As the most handsome boy in Hufflepuff House, Cedric has always been very popular – especially young wizards of the same sex. It can only be said that our empire has its own national conditions.

Although some people would envy him for being so popular, Cedric, who was surrounded by a group of wizards, didn’t think so. At this moment, he wished that the college he was assigned to was Ravenclaw.

The strong smell of sweat and body odor mixed together almost made Cedric unable to breathe. Now he just wished that he was sitting next to Qiu.

And Qiu, whom he was thinking about, was with Penello, Ravenclaw’s prefect. She was listening to her best friend confide in her thoughts.

Percy had been writing to her tirelessly since the holidays last school year. Although Penello had clearly refused many times, he still insisted on himself.

Today, Percy wrote her another letter, which read:

Ah, Penello, you are like the candy I asked for on Halloween, a candy that sweetens my heart and makes me feel like you are there all the time. thinking of you.

She didn’t know where Percy had copied so many earthy love words. She originally had a good impression of Percy and might agree to his pursuit. But now, her thoughts gradually faded away.

After listening to Penello’s complaints, Qiu sighed.

Cedric, who is pursuing her, and Percy, both lack the nerve to deal with certain issues.

The two of them looked at each other, feeling like they were in the same boat.

……

In the Slytherin common room,

Pansy was stroking the medicine bottle in her arms and looking at Draco who was slumped in the chair.

She was thinking about when would be the right time for her to administer the drug.

A thoughtful smile appeared on Pansy’s face. She seemed to be imagining a sweet life between herself and Draco from now on, without that annoying Gryffindor Harry.

Draco felt an inexplicable chill, and his body couldn’t stop trembling.

……

The auditorium of Hogwarts was particularly ornately decorated, with many live bats hanging from the ceiling. Perhaps to match the festive atmosphere, the ceiling no longer displayed stars, but instead was covered with clouds, which looked very scary.

The pumpkins Hagrid planted a few days ago were carved into huge lanterns, big enough to accommodate three people sitting in them.

There are also some small pumpkins, made into the shape of classic Jack pumpkins, with special blue-flame candles placed inside. The professors cast a levitating spell on these jack-o-lanterns, and they floated in the air, decorating the atmosphere.

A few days ago, a rumor came from nowhere that Dumbledore had hired a dance troupe and would perform some”explicit” dances for everyone.

Ives’s roommates are looking forward to it.

Ivis took Hermione into the auditorium, and he felt weak at the thought of them attending Nick’s death anniversary party at seven o’clock.

The festive atmosphere in the auditorium is so strong, why go to the basement and feel uncomfortable. As soon as he thought about this, Ives kept urging in Hermione’s ear:”Hermione, why don’t we go to Nick’s death anniversary party and just celebrate the festival in the auditorium.”

Seeing the big ones who were all affected by the expansion spell, After seeing the amazing jack-o-lantern, Ives became less and less interested in attending a ghost party where no living person would go.
