I had written up all of the character designs to be used in the animation.

“All I have to do now is scan it and send it.”

I attached the data to an email and finished sending it to the editor in charge.

“It looks great as usual. Would it be possible for you to come to my office this Saturday at 14:00?”

Sasai-san replied.

“It’s this Saturday. That’s fine. I’ll come to you.”

After replying, I closed my computer.

“You must be tired.”

“Yeah, I’ve finally finished designing the characters for the anime.”

I said, rubbing my eyes.

“Do you want something to drink?

“No, I’m fine.”

After saying that, I slumped on the living room sofa.

“I’m going to the publishing house this Saturday.”

“Oh, really? You’re really busy.”

“Yeah, it’s important, so I’ll tell you about it when we meet.”

“Why don’t you go take a bath too, Nii-San?”

At Sara’s urging, I took a bath and decided to rest as soon as possible.

On Saturday, I left my house to go to the publishing house.

“I’m off.”

“Have a good day. Be careful.”

“I’ll be back in the evening.”

“Understood.”

I was seen off by Sara and headed for the station.

From there, after a twenty-minute train ride, I arrived at the station closest to the publishing company.

“I’m Tojo. I have an appointment with Sasai-san.”

After completing the procedures at the reception desk, I headed to the fourth floor where the editorial office was located.

“Tojo-sensei, we’ve been waiting for you. This way, please.”

“Hai.”

I was ushered into the conference room.

“Are you here to talk about the anime today?”

“No, I’m here to ask you to do something else for me.”

“Another job?”

“Yes. You are good at writing, aren’t you?”

As he said this, Sasai-san spread out his documents.

“Yes, well, I can write reasonably well.”

“Would you like to publish a light novel?”

“E~…”

I was approached with something I hadn’t expected.

“But I’m a calligrapher, remember?”

“So it’s okay, it’s okay. The professor who writes the title of Mahogak will write a novel. It will be very popular.”

“Are you in charge, Sasai-san?”

“As much as I’d like to, I’ve got my hands full. You’re  assigned to someone else. I’ll go get him.”

After saying that, Sasai-san left the conference room.

A few minutes later, he returned.

“I’m sorry to keep you waiting. This is Asakiri, who will be in charge of you.”

“Nice to meet you.”

The person Sasai-san brought in was a beautiful woman who appeared to be in her late twenties.

“Hi, nice to meet you.”

I also stood up and greeted her.

“I’m Yuka Asakiri.”

Then she handed me her business card.

“I’m Tojo Rei.”

The two shook hands with each other.
