Time passed and it was lunchtime. I looked at Sara, who had completely become one of the most popular girls in the class.

Well, she was pretty, so I was sure people would gather around her.

She seemed to be a little shy, though.

“Nii-San, let’s eat lunch.”

She came to my seat with a big smile on her face.

“Oh, let’s eat. Here, I’ve made one for you too.”

I handed the lunch box to Sara.

“Oh, thank you very much. You even made a lunch box for me, didn’t you?”

“Well, yeah. If it was just me, I’d rarely do it, but if it is for Sara…”

“I’m glad… .”

Sara’s eyes turned crescent and she smiled gently.

“Oh, you two are so in love.”

Rio came over to chill.

“It’s not like that. It’s normal for siblings to eat together.”

“We have never brought our own lunch before. We would always buy it.”

Rio and I had known each other for quite a while, and she was always getting in my business.

“It’s okay once in a while. Do you want to eat with me, Rio?”

“Oh, you don’t mind, do you? You don’t mind if I interrupt your siblings’ good time.”

“It’s fine with me. What about you, Sara?”

“I don’t mind either.”

“Okay, then, let’s go somewhere else. I can’t eat in peace here because I’m worried about being seen.”

“Right.”  They both replied in unison.

We took our lunches, left the classroom and headed upstairs.

“Where are you going to eat?”

“That’s the only place.”

“No way.”

At the top of the stairs was a classroom labeled [Calligraphy Room].

This was the room for the Calligraphy Club.

The door was always unlocked, and our advisor had given us permission to use it as we pleased.

“Oh, um, I’m not a member, is that okay?”

Sara asked me.

“It’s fine. I’ll allow it as the club president.”

If it was only Rio and I, the advisor would have no problem with it.

“Hey, that’s the club president and the vice president.”

When I entered the calligraphy room, a sweet voice reached my ears.

“Hey, Sakura. Are you eating here too?”

—Sakura Ichinose, a first-year member of the calligraphy club.

Due to her pretentious attitude, she was popular among boys from certain grade levels.

And her calligraphy skills were not too far off from mine.

“That’s right. I thought I’d organize my work while I eat.”

Sakura walked closer to me, as if she didn’t know she was doing it.

I sat down on a chair without being affected by the sweet girlish scent coming from her.

“You too, Sara, sit down. Let’s have some food.”

Sara sat across from me, Rio diagonally to my left, and for some reason Sakura sat next to me.

We all said “Itadakimasu”, and started eating our lunch.

“Wow, Haruki can really cook …”

‘My parents usually left the house unattended. So, I was able to do some housework.’

“It’s really good.”

“Oh, that’s good. I thought I did a good job.”

“I’ll make something for you next time.”

“Are you going to be okay?”

“What are you worried about? I can at least cook.”

Sara said proudly while puffing out her chest.
