We were strolling through the streets of Shinjuku.

It was late afternoon, and the number of people seemed to be increasing.

“I want to take a peek over there.”

Sara was pointing at a game center.

By the way, I didn’t think I had ever been to a game center in Shinjuku before.

“Okay. Let’s go check it out.”

I walked into the arcade with Sara.

“Oh, there’s a new one!”

Sara was looking at the prizes inside the claw machines.

Apparently, there was a different prize inside than the one we had seen before.

“Do you want it?”

I said, and inserted the coin.

“He~! Can you catch it?”

Sara had a surprised expression on her face.

“Ma~, leave it to me.”

I put in the coin and operated the crane of the claw machine.

Then, I didn’t know what happened, but the prize just fell into the prize slot.

“Yes, I got it.”

I handed the stuffed animal that fell into the prize slot to Sara.

“Really, you are amazing … !!”

Sara looked at me with a sparkling, impressed look in her eyes.

If you stare at me like that, Your Onii-Chan will get dizzy.

Leaving aside whether she was joking or serious, I got a bag from the clerk and put the stuffed animal in it.

From there, we enjoyed a series of video games and racing games.

“It was surprisingly tiring.”

“Yeah, I agree.”

Outside, it was getting dusk, and the flow of people was a mixture of those heading to the station and those who were going out to play.

“Well, should we go home too?”

“Yeah.”

After saying that, we followed the flow of people heading to the station.

From there, we passed through the ticket gate and boarded a train bound for Ikebukuro.

“It was fun today, wasn’t it?”

“Hai!”

Sara nodded strongly with a smile on her face.

I think it was a fulfilling holiday for me.

Ever since I started spending time with Sara, I had more opportunities to go out. By going out like this, I could experience different things.

This might be a good thing for me as a writer. In fact, I felt like I had grown a lot as a writer.

“Thank you.”

I muttered to myself.

“‘Hmm? For what?”

Sara tilted her head slightly, a confused expression on her face.

“No, for taking me out to so many places.”

“Hai!!”

Sara nodded strongly with a big smile on her face.

Maybe it was because of the sunset, but I thought Sara’s cheeks were a little flushed.

Illuminated by the light coming through the window of the train at dusk, Sara’s smile looked more beautiful than anything else.

I wanted to keep this smile with me forever. This smile that gave me light in my life, which I had been living without understanding, would remain beautiful forever.
