Kyomi's POV:
I stared at myself in the mirror. I looked hideous, my parents always chose clothing that covered my entire body. Usually I didn't mind, for I never saw the need to impress anyone but ever since Dante started showing me attention I've started to be a lot more self conscious of what I wore around him.
My hair was in a neat bun and at least that looked pretty but the dress was just plain ugly.
I took a deep sigh, why was this even bothering me? I hated the fact that I now watched what I wore and there wasn't even anything I could do about it, my parents would never let me wear anything that they saw inappropriate, which for them was anything that showed even the slightest bit of skin on my legs, ċhėst or tummy.
There was even more serious matters at hand than what I wore however, for what if Dante really showed up and was seen by my father? Things could get really bad really quickly.
My anxiety skyrocketed at that thought, my father really hated the Clarkes' with a burning passion, nothing good would come out of a situation like that and surprisingly I think I was even concerned about Dante's well-being which really bothered me.
With a shake of my head I finally decided that sitting in my room and worrying about it wasn't going to fix anything. Instead, taking myself downstairs where guests were already entering was probably the better thing to do.
Besides, if I didn't get myself down there right now, very soon my mother would be knocking on my door complaining about how I was embarrassing the family by not showing up to my own family event on time and greeting the guests whom apparently only came to to see me.
Okay maybe that last line was a bit exaggerated, obviously no one came to see me alone but my parents always made it seem like if I weren't there everyone would have something to say.
My mother and my three sisters, Tiana, Rosetta and Angelina were already seated on one of the tables and they all were looking at me.
"You're late." My mother scolded. "We will talk about this later." She said as I took a seat next to her and forced a smile on my face.
As my eyes scanned my surroundings only to see that a lot of important guests whom my family would expect me to have conversations with by the end of the night were all here and looking at our table, I could already tell that tonight was going to be a very long one.
