Kyomi's POV:
It was already midnight and a few of the guests were still here, fortunately for me there was no sign of Dante anywhere. I would know for my eyes were glued to the entrance the entire night so far and not a single person who resembled him walked through it tonight.
"I guess we came here for nothing." Alisha mumbled stuffing a piece of cake into her mouth.
"Yeah." Mandy agreed twirling the ice in her cup of water.
"Mhm." Bridgette added, her mouth full with pie.
"I would think each of you would have been a little more excited to the fact that I'm standing right next to you and that you got to spend time with your best friend." I pointed out rolling my eyes at them. " Besides, you should be happy that Dante didn't show up. If he did, things would have been really crazy up in here."
Mandy sighed. "She's right, anyway it's getting pretty late and my parents are going to start calling any minute now. " She said while giving me a hug, Bridgette and Alisha doing the same since they all came together.
"Thanks for coming, I'll see you all on Monday."I told them.
"Finally." My mother said as she approached me. "So many guests didn't get a proper conversation with you because you were so busy talking to your friends." She quickly added.
Before I could respond she started to speak again. "I would like to introduce you to this successful businessman and his very handsome son."
I followed her gaze and noticed that they were all looking at me. The man who seemed to be a little older than I was did happen to be good looking as my mother pointed out, yet he didn't leave the kind of effect Dante often left on me.
I did it again! I kept thinking about him even when he wasn't near me!
"Mom." I started. "I'm very tired, can I at least get a little time to myself in my room and come back to meet them afterwards? You can make up some excuse like I had to make an important call or went to use the washroom or something, anything so that I could get a little rest. Besides, I need to freshen up."
My mother studied me for a moment before nodding. " Alright. But make it quick or your father wouldn't be too happy about this."
"I will, I promise. Thanks mom."
Without another word I rushed out of there and straight up the stairs, not stopping until I was in my room.
As I shut the door behind me and switched the lights on, a figure on my bed sent my entire body into a shock.
Oh God no!
DANTE!
