I'm The Boss's Secretary?!

Chapter 170 - Mystic Dream-I

The intense gaze Jung Hwa directed toward Seoyeon had her to squeeze her fingers, somewhere she thought she had to be careful by that gaze Jung Hwa gave her and the man himself. It was as if she was sitting with a ticking bomb and had to take care before the bomb exploded in her hands. The explosion wouldn't kill her or hurt her but devour her.

Instead, she asked him, "Why did Halsteed run away?"

"The sky knows the answer. I gave him space. I told you how he didn't like me and I left him in the backyard. He was a smart cat, very different than a normal cat and I thought he wouldn't run but he did," Jung Hwa stared at her neck and his eye color dipped in a darker red. "You know somewhere I know he was going to run and if I don't hold on to him he would escape but I respect his wish. I don't want him to die out of stress."

Seoyeon felt his hands loosening from her waist and he let her to stand. When Seoyeon stared at him as if in worry, Jung Hwa grinned. It was never known to him that having Seoyeon worrying his condition would make him feels happy.

"I decide to respect their wish and bring them with me. If they run that couldn't be help. It become something like a rule to me. But only you that I don't want to use this rule to. I want to respect your wish and have you stay with me. If you run, I will have to chase you and I never really hate chasing." There was a glint Seoyeon didn't miss flicking over Jung Hwa's eyes that reduced when he smiled wide at her. "Don't forget to brush your teeth and sleep well. Take care and dream of me, good night, sweetheart."

Jung Hwa pulled his hand and settled it over the table. "Good night and don't chase me. I will be here because I'm your secretary."

Seeing Seoyeon left, Jung Hwa whispered, "But I want more." Not as secretary but even more than lovers.

Seoyeon who quickly make her run from Jung Hwa pushed the door open and held her cheeks she felt hot. Seoyeon had never seen that side of Jung Hwa before. Is it because of today's events or because she had entered his house?

In the story of Halsteed, Seoyeon wondered if more than he looked Jung Hwa was always lonely? It could be the reason why he would rather to stay With his grandfather then to live alone here.

Walking toward her bed, Seoyeon climbed to the bed when she saw the books placed on the table and she went down to take the book. It was the witches' book, thought Seoyeon. Her hand and eyes were curious to read the book but she hesitated. What if by reading the book, she would turn to something different?

Yet there was secrets lurks in behind her mind and Seoyeon could tell that they had got the end of the secret's tail. Opening the book, Seoyeon started to read the first few sentence. It was as Seoyeon had expected was not written in Korean but a different language.

It was odd and weird. Seoyeon had never seen writings like the one in the books but in one glance she could understand what was written in the book. "This must be witches' language," she mumbled to herself.

When Seoyeon flipped the pages reading the introduction it took her long to understand the book was the introductory to the witches' world.

Long ago there was a land of witches where only people who could use spells and make potions live at. The land was blessed with abundant trees and resources for their potions. As the land was far from others and covered with forest, no one know about the the land. Until one day a brigade that came from humans land came.

It didn't took long for the human's and witches to work for each other, and when the human's introduced the vampires to the witches, they become closer.

At this point before Seoyeon flipped the next page, she saw a small not stick on the pages, pulling it to read, Seoyeon knows whose handwriting it was. It was Jung Hwa's writings which was still smaller and compared to his handwritings now, it was much messier and untidy.

There was a few words of witches language which was translated to Korean and it questioned her if this was one trace of Jung Hwa trying to study the witches' language alone. How long had he been searching for Witches? Hunting them alone?

As Seoyeon continued to read the introductory, she found nothing wrong with the story. She cannot find any tragedy or twisted reason for the witches to betray humans or vampires when it was said that they lived together happily. It was after a few centuries when the witches turn against humans and vampires.

The book had written only the few detailed story but what Seoyeon noted to be important was only a few. Seoyeon felt the book was telling the truth but at the same time it wasn't completed. Even if witches was a 'vile' being as written in the book, she couldn't search for any reason that caused them to turn hostile.

"Is this really a book from the witches?" Why would the witches write a history about their own kin? If it was a book from the witches themselves, it made sense if they make their beings to look superior than the rest. But in the book witches were labeled as 'vile' and 'need to be destroyed'. In the end of the book, it was said soon after the witches disappeared from the land, leaving no trace. Suddenly.

Seoyeon shifted her eyes to the rest of two books and saw that the book she was holding held the title 'witches' and as for the other two were 'vampires' and 'hunters'.

Seoyeon wish to read more of the books, to quench her burning curiosity but it was three in the morning and tomorrow she had to woke up early. Climbing to her bed, Seoyeon took one last look at the book titled 'witches' from afar and sank in her questions.

In the room across her, Alfred knocked on the door of Jung Hwa's room. Receiving no answer, he opened the door to see beside Jung Hwa were blood packs sitting empty. There was about twenty blood packs he had drank cleanly and still a few more in his hand which he was yet to drink.

"Do you need more blood, Master Hwa?" asked Alfred who took note to take more blood packs.

"No, I will finish the entire batch for this week bring more of emergency supplies tomorrow, tch," Jung Hwa sat on his table, pushing his hand while he stared at the blood pack storage which was hanged on the wall. He remembered how Seoyeon tasted. He had only drank a drop of her blood but the taste was divine that he wanted more and more. The blood he drank had no taste as if he was drinking a plain water when that wasn't what he wanted.

Jung Hwa recalled Seoyeon's neck and the delectable expression she had. Right now she was possibly sleeping in her room defensively and he could easily enter there, take a bite from her neck and heal her. But he didn't want to scare her and treated her roughly that way.

"Did you use your blood power, master?" Alfred couldn't tell Jung Hwa's cause for drinking blood. It was unless the person was starved for month or two from blood that they had to drink this much. In Jung Hwa's cause, using his blood power would result him to feel thirst. It would grow worse if he use it over and over in one week but to save Seoyeon, he thought it was worthwhile.

"Only a little," replied Jung Hwa and Alfred doubt if it was truly a little that resulted him to continuously taking blood. "Do you know about that tellings Alfred where vampire who met their soulmate and drink their blood they would unable to taste any blood better than their soulmates'?"

"As far as I know that is only an old tellings without prove," replied the man as he didn't believe the sayings which came baseless. It was the same to tell human who ate foods that once they found the best food in the world other food would become tasteless to them.

"Well I will tell you that it is the truth," Jung Hwa hummed, finishing one blood pack he then added, "I need you to do something for me Alfred." There came his request and Jung Hwa's smile widened un a malicious thought. "What do you think could torture humans without doing it physically? There are humans who have been bugging my mind because they had crossed the line. Do you know how?"

"Considering the severeness of the mistake there are some ways but I prefer to do a psychical torture."

"Right?" agreed Jung Hwa but then to kill Seoyeon's uncle and aunt he couldn't do it without reason. The reason was only to justify his killing and to look better to Seoyeon's eyes.. "I could heightened their mistake," smiled Jung Hwa when a bright idea settled in his mind.
