I'm The Boss's Secretary?!
Chapter 220 - Sorting Out-I
"Was there a difference between a lucid dream and a pragmatic dream?" Seoyeon questioned, leaning slightly forward with both hands placed on the table across them.
"To use a simple term, it is a difference between the third point of view and the first point of view. The former being a pragmatic dream, and the latter is a lucid dream. What you dreamt is a lucid dream, although this cannot explain the reason for your feet to be wounded like it was in your dream."
Jung Hwa broke the silence by saying, "We could observe the dream at later times. First is to search for Seoyeon's origin."
On Jung Hwa's words, Seoyeon nodded her head to agree. She then took the fruit knife to her hands. Her eyes stared at the blade which was short but sharp enough to graze her skin if she rubbed the blade on her skin with less power. To Seoyeon, a knife was not the best house appliance as it was sharp and could even take lives.
She gulped, about to cut her hand when Jung Hwa whispered beside her ears, "Scared?" His words were like a challenge, and Seoyeon, who had never wanted to lose, didn't want to appear scared from being wounded.
"I'm not," She argued, taking the knife, the blade touch her skin to dig and create a cut. Seoyeon's eyes closed from the pain, and a small cry passed from her lips when she felt the burning feeling on her skin when the blade tear her skin. Bringing her hand above the bowl, Seoyeon directed her wounded hand to let the fresh blood drip inside the liquid.
When she was done, she felt her hand tugged. Taking her hand, she saw Jung Hwa's red tongue sneaked out from his mouth, and swiftly he licked the wound, dyeing his red tongue in a brighter red color. On coming in contact with his saliva, tears found their place to the rim of her eyes, and Seoyeon closed her right eye in reflex.
Seoyeon cannot keep her eyes away from his lips that were now smeared in her blood. With his hair falling over his eyes, she wasn't able to look at what expression he had until he lifted his chin for his red eyes to fix on her black ones.
"I am okay," she said, pulling her hand, feeling embarrassed and her cheeks reddened. She can't deny how her heart was quivering at his action, but then, Jung Hwa had kissed her, which made it impossible for her not to feel shaken by his gesture that had been bold to show his love for her.
"You are okay, but I am not," his eyes stared at the cut on her hand, "sometimes, it's not only you who had to be alright, but also me. Such a waste of my sweet blood, come closer."
Did Jung Hwa expect her to come closer than they were already? Their chair was close enough not to let a gap between them. To go closer would only mean for her legs to stay at his and she didn't want to do that here!
"This is a good distance," Seoyon darted her eyes around to see the white witch looking at them with a smile, and when their eyes met, the man quickly throws his gaze away. As if he had not seen the display of affection shown by the couple.
Her cheeks flushed redder when she remembered they were not alone, "We are not alone!" She yelled in a hushed voice, warning Jung Hwa as if he had forgotten Min Beomgyu, but Seoyeon could tell that he knows well Min Beomgyu was still in the room.
"I'm sorry I didn't notice your eagerness to be alone with me," Jung Hwa said with an apologetic face that Seoyeon could swear she didn't need now!
Who was eager?! Seoyeon retorted but knowing how Jung Hwa always has his ways with retorts, she kept her lips tight to not reply to his words. Raising her hand, she let Jung Hwa to continue taking her blood from her cut to heal her wound at the same time.
Jung Hwa twisted his lips. He can't say he wasn't behaving childishly now, but it was worth it as he could see Seoyeon's expression which was delicious to him.
As if in purpose, which was, Jung Hwa prolonged the process of healing her wound. She could feel the sensation of his tongue on her cut, and as he kept wiping the blood, the pain lessened, but the embarrassment didn't. Instead, as he kept licking her hand, Seoyeon could hear the ticking sound of a clock behind her that made her feel hurried.
When Jung Hwa released her hand, Seoyeon pulled her to the table, without forgetting to give Jung Hwa a warning look, which receives his chuckles.
"Uh," started Min Beomgyu to let them know of his presence that was yet to leave. Not knowing what to say, the white witch then thought to proceed as if he hadn't seen anything, "now that we have your blood, all we need is a simple spell."
Seoyeon turned her eyes away, not wanting to be conscious by the man beside her, and focus on Min Beomgyu's explanation. "I thought white witches cannot use spells."
"Not entirely. White witches could use spells but to make potions. As for attack spells, we fail to be weaker." Min Beomgyu then placed his hand above the bowl and muttered something faintly.
It was hard to understand what Min Beomgyu tried to say in whispers as it was incoherent to her ears. She then watched her blood in the bowl that should have mixed with the clear liquid stayed in the form of drops.
With Min Beomgyu's whispers of a spell, the blood shakes, and they saw the red color turned darker before it spread and mix with the clear liquid.
Min Beomgyu rested his hand down and opened his eyes as he had closed them to then stare at the reaction in the bowl. "This confirms it," the man hummed lowly, his voice sounding sure.
With the delay of speech Min Beomgyu did, Seoyeon's heartbeat thump loudly inside her chest.
"You are not a dark witchess, Miss Seoyeon." Seoyeon rejoiced at the news, and her smile widened. She looked at Jung Hwa, their eyes met, for her smile to widen in rejoice.
Jung Hwa didn't want to break her bubble of happiness, but he had to say what he needed. "This means that your parents are not dark witches either. But if they are one, we can safely conclude Yang Jiae and Yang Sunghoon are not your parents."
A cold feeling laced in Seoyeon's blood. She can't understand what Jung Hwa said in her mind, but her heart feels to her as if a click had sound. "I have been told that they are my parents..." she murmured because if they were not, then who are they? Who were her birth parents then?
Jung Hwa could sense her shaken feeling with her heartbeat that shook. He took her hand, taking her gaze away from the spot on the desk she had been staring to look at him. "There are yet records whether you are related by blood with them. To make it worse, you don't have memories of your parents. There is a silver chance that you are not their child, and someone else is your parents."
"They could be posing as your parents too," tutted Min Beomgyu from the side. "It would be great if we could know the details of your birth, Miss Seoyeon. I remembered to have been said that you came from an orphanage. At most times, the orphanage would hold the birth certificate for each baby sent to their place unless they were found after being abandoned. If your parents died out of an arson case, the orphanage should hold your birth certificate; and from there we could uncover which hospital you were born from."
"That's right," whispered Seoyeon to Jung Hwa and he nodded his head at her.
"I will go there tomorrow," Jung Hwa noted to hear Seoyeon speak.
"I will come with you."
"No, you should stay here. The orphanage is gone after what happened but the documents should be achieved somewhere. It would be enough for me to go. On that note," Jung Hwa raised his brow at Min Beomgyu, "Continue performing the ritual. We need to know what type of witch Seoyeon is and cultivate her power." The last thing Jung Hwa would want is for Seoyeon to have an outburst of power. If he goes by his instinct, the reason for Seoyeon's feet to be injured despite she was walking in her room was due to her power being overwhelming.
When one doesn't know how to control their power, it would make them the easiest target for their own power to detonate like a ticking bomb.
Jung Hwa had experienced it in the past, and he would not want to see it repeat to Seoyeon.
Min Beomgyu nodded, and along with Seoyeon, they perform another ritual using the wooden bowl and a different liquid that was denser than before.
At the same late night, a certain lady had rung a call to the Associates. After the fourth ring, the associate member whose work was to stay up until late to wait for any urgent call took the call.
"What can I help with?" questioned the associate member, who was lazy to answer a call. A minute ago, he was still napping until the phone rang to break his sleep.
"I-I have a report on an associate member," said the caller, and from the voice, the man could tell it was the voice of a woman.
"Please take a moment to calm down lady, may I know which associate member you are talking of and whether you remember the name of the person?" asked the man who had stood from his chair to take a small note to write the name, but upon hearing the name stated by the caller, the note became pointless.
"The name of the man i-is Jung Hwa and the felony the man did is...." The woman's voice fell to whispers as she continued the call, which would start a great uproar for the next day that would appear.
"To use a simple term, it is a difference between the third point of view and the first point of view. The former being a pragmatic dream, and the latter is a lucid dream.
