I'm The Boss's Secretary?!

Chapter 221 - Sorting Out-II

"You are not a white witch or a dark witch," concluded Min Beomgyu after their fifth trial. This time, Seoyeon didn't have to use her blood, as the method used in the trial require a different substance. "Try to repeat these few spells with your hand above the bowl."

Seoyeon followed what the white witch told her to. With her eyes on the book, she repeated the spells to fail at some. Until the moment she whispered of a spell that the liquid inside the bowl showed a reaction. The surface of the water rippled, and as if a bubble appeared inside, the bowl shakes lightly.

"I think I did it," whispered Seoyeon, and Jung Hwa at once stood beside her, as if he had used the power of his blood by teleporting beside her.

With Jung Hwa's body being tall, and wide with his shoulders, it took him less of an effort to drape his hand over her body.

Min Beomgyu, whose body leaned back on the headrest of the chair, quickly leaned forward, following Jung Hwa when he saw the pureblood standing close beside Seoyeon.

Jung Hwa stared at the water that had grown thinner inside the bowl and the bubbles that appeared above the surface of the water. The ripples continued as if it was simmering above the liquid. To test whether the water had turned hot, like how it looked, Jung Hwa unhesitatingly impelled his finger to the water, and a sizzling sound came to make Seoyeon's eyes widened.

Seoyeon pulled his finger away, and she snapped at him, "Hwa, y-your hand! What are you doing? You should not carelessly touch that liquid!" she said, and concern was contained in her voice that had Jung Hwa to smile despite the skin of his finger had scald from the boiling water.

Min Beomgyu also shared the same line of thought Seoyeon said, saying, "That was careless of you, Mister Jung..." to his reply, he saw Jung Hwa's eyes looking at him with an unimpressive look, and the man was quick to close his mouth. He coughed and changed their talk, "That liquid is made from holy water. It should not hurt a vampire generally, but the power of the holy water had been enhanced with this spell. Was the spell you used, the third one in the row, miss Seoyeon?"

Seoyeon shakes her head, pointing her hand that was not holding Jung Hwa's injured hand to point the spell she read, "I was reading the seventh one."

"The seventh one," whispered Min Beomgyu, his voice coming out to be amazed, "This spell is to make a healing potion."

"I think we had a different dictionary, white witch," Jung Hwa remarked casually that had Min Beomgyu to be in an awkward position. Jung Hwa raised his finger that had been burnt. The skin of his finger exfoliate from the heat, and the sizzling sound got Seoyeon to be worried. "This harmful thing to me cannot be called as hearing potion, can it?"

"This is the power of a red witch," explained Min Beomgyu, and like Jung Hwa, he shoved his finger to the bowl, but this time, unlike Jung Hwa, his hand was not burnt and there was no frizzle sound from his hand. Pulling his finger out, Min Beomgyu raised his finger that was not affected by the potion.

"Is a red witch's power is to create a double effect potion?" asked Seoyeon, she was awed by what she did. Seeing the potion work, makes her feel that the power inside her to be real. The power which told her to be a witch.

"Yes, but it is not a simple double effect potion. They could make any potion to work antithetical to different types of being. Like now, this potion will not affect a white witch which is me. I expected that Mister Jung would not get wounded as he is a first-generation pureblood. However, your power is far stronger than I thought, that it affected a pureblood."

Seoyeon, who heard the white witch's words then look at Jung Hwa. She wondered if Min Beomgyu knew Jung Hwa being a first-generation pureblood because he was the one who had informed him? To her eyes, Jung Hwa didn't seem to be surprised after Min Beomgyu's words, which confirm her question.

While Seoyen stared at his finger which had been burnt, Jung Hwa whose skin was peeled, casually move on with his question, "What else of power does a red witch hold?"

"They could draw magic from their surrounding. Simply saying, Miss Seoyeon could take other's source of power. But for this to work, we would have to search for ways to groom her hereditary magic. On that note, Miss Seoyeon, could you perform the last spell, the eight one?"

Seoyeon gave the white witch a nod, she raised her hand, repeating to whisper spells that were different. By the time she was done, Seoyeon opened her eyes to see the color of liquid turning bright red as if there was blood mixed with a larger scale of water to turn the color brighter.

"I did it too..." Seoyeon said, and a look of surprise with confusion settled on the lines of her brows, "I thought I could only use one type of spell, but I did two of them."

Min Beomgyu stepped forward and he took out a flask with a black substance inside that was murky. Seoyeon wondered what it was, and when the man poured the black substance into the bowl, a pitch black smoke came out.

"That is a dark witch's blood," said Jung Hwa to Seoyeon, "this blood comes from the witch that I apprehended with you."

Seoyeon recalled which witch he spoke of, and she noted with a nod, "I thought she had been killed."

"She had," Jung Hwa dully confirmed, and Seoyeon could tell the still ire inside him that were brimming in his eyes. "I would have fun to dissect and see what was inside their body if not for the white witch with us right now."

Min Beomgyu interrupted Seoyeon's thought before she could peg him as a person who would want to protect the dark witches, "That was my work. When it comes to witches, there is no one better than the witches themselves. Next time you should visit for a study, Miss Seoyeon, seeing the body structure of a dark witch earn us more knowledge to their weakness."

Seoyeon did not want to see a body dissected as it reminded her of the incident she was about to go through but to know the dark witch's weakness, she gave some thought before thoughtfully say, "I will try to come."

Jung Hwa tittered for Seoyeon to meet his eyes that had been looking at her advertently, "You don't need to if you do not want. I could tell you in the details."

"Yes, Mister Jung was with me the entire time I open the witch's body," Min Beomgyu chided, and Seoyeon was not sure with his term of 'open' as it sounded grisly.

"It was worthwhile to see the witch's inner organs," cruelty was in his voice that was less surprising to hear to Seoyeon's ears as she could imagine what expression Jung Hwa would use by taking amusement in seeing the insides of a dark witch's body. "I learn that next time we should push a dagger to the right side of a dark witch's body."

Seoyeon, who was fast to guess things coherently, asked, "Their heart is on the right side?"

"Yes, on this side, much more slanted over to the right side," Jung Hwa placed his hand on his own chest, marking where the heart was, "Their blood is pitch black like ink, it's the same liquid the white witch put on your bowl from earlier."

Was the spell she did is to create a potion against dark witches? Seeing how the black liquid turned to smoke the moment it came in contact with the potion she created in the bowl, confirm her potion was a success. The potion would be valuable when fighting a witch, thought Seoyeon to herself. Seoyeon turned to look at Min Beomgyu, who smiled widely, "I thought I was a red witch, but I could use this potion. Are there witches who could be two types of colored witch?"

"No, a witch could only belong to one type of colored witch; and you are certainly a red witch, this potion is one that I tried to create, but the effect is less than yours. You should keep this potion with you," Min Beomgyu took the bowl and a new flask to pour the potion she made.

Jung Hwa continued to watch her when Seoyeon turned to look at him and her lips that were set in a line whispered, "Can I learn how to make that?"

"Of course," his words made her happy, and Jung Hwa thought of how easy it was to make Seoyeon happy. Her smile was always bright to his eyes, which he loves to see. "But next time, today he only comes to help you find what you are. You can go back, white witch. I think you wouldn't like to see dark witches roaming around at night for your lives."

Seoyeon's shoulders slightly slumped. She was curious to know the content of the potion so she would be able to aid Jung Hwa in their upcoming fights.

"Seoyeon, can you bring me the book that I place on the table of my study room?" Jung Hwa requested her, and she wondered why he had asked her when he could ask Alfred until he continued, "I can only trust this to you, darling."

Seoyeon licked her lips where she felt her cheeks reddened and she stood up from her chair after whispering, "Okay."

As Seoyeon had left, the smile over Jung Hwa's lips fell small when he looked at the white witch, "I still have some questions, white witch. She is a red witch but the power of her lucid dream is not a power red witch could have, is it?"
