I'm The Boss's Secretary?!

Min Hyuk's stallion did what he had said, protecting her from danger that helped Haneul to escape from the forest unscathed. She stepped down from the horse after seeing her mother who went to panic upon seeing a trace of blood on her clothes which Haneul didn't noticed it either until her mother pointed it out.

"What happened to you?! Where did you get hurt?" Mrs. Sol questioned, wanting answer as she held unto Haneul's shoulders tightly.

"I didn't get hurt. Min Hyuk is still inside the forest, we are under attack. There were people who fired arrows to us!" Haneul answered, her mother was taken aback, not knowing what to do as this was the first time her mother had to take care of such an abrupt matter of being under attack.

Haneul hadn't noticed it but Mr Han was near her and once he heard of what happened, he came toward her, "Did you see the attacker?"

"I didn't, but I think everyone was attacked," Haneul said, her hand squeeze in worry, "We need to tell the Queen." If the Queen knew about the danger, Haneul was sure the woman would immediately instruct all of her guards to the forest and catch the archers. 

"They should be on their way now, I have just notified them," convinced Mr. Han who then went to look at her cheek where a small straight red line was. "You have hurt yourself. Let me help you," he said. Before Haneul who was still shaken could understand what he says, the man reached out his hand to her cheeks. His deep eyes looked at her inky ones, finding a certain glimmer on Haneul's eyes which he had never seen in others before. 

"Look at that! Someone came out from the forest!" The man who was near the forest screamed upon seeing another man stepped out from the forest. From the top of his head, blood smeared all over his hair. The clothes he wear which was in the color of blue was soaked by blood, almost turning its color into purple due to the amount of blood that covered his body. In his hand was a head of a person and he dragged them along with the person's body, pulling it across the forest effortlessly.

Mr. Han whose hands were in the air, wanting to touch Haneul's cheeks then was suspended when he saw her neck twist and her eyes brightened when she found Min Hyuk stepping out from the forest. Without another word, Haneul left her mother and Mr. Han's side, going toward Min Hyuk, she was happy and relieved he could escape the forest but seeing the blood, her eyes grew wary.

"It's not my blood," Min Hyuk answered as if he had read her mind, "It's blood of these men's ally. I went and scouted around the forest."

"Did you find anything?" Asked Haneul then, seeing him shaking his head.

"Only this body. Don't worry, as for the rest of the archer I have managed to kill then, but I am not sure if I had hunted them all," Min Hyuk raised his hand that were exempted from blood, touching her cheek and then brushed over the wound. "Are you alright?"

"Very, because of you," Haneul didn't let her gaze leave Min Hyuk's. She watched him unblinkingly just like how he stared at her.

"You should go," Min Hyuk said then. Haneul raised her brows, seeing him looking behind her and she followed his gaze, meeting her mother's upset expression. Wordlessly, her mother turned her body, leaving as she didn't want to make a scene here, out in the open. "I will leave to take care of this. Go with your mother somewhere safety."

Haneul didn't want to leave Min Hyuk after what they had went through. She held the sleeve of his robe, her expression told what she wanted to say. Min Hyuk knew what Haneul was thinking but with the growing eyes, he didn't want her to be in the spotlight. "We will meet again," Haneul said as a statement not as a question, almost like a demand which had Min Hyuk's smile to widened.

"We will, soon."

Receiving Min Hyuk's words, Haneul then left his side unwillingly. She continued to stare at him as he left toward the direction where the Queen's tent was. Her head then turn to meet her mother who was angered.

Once she was back home, Mrs. Sol slammed the door of her room, bringing Haneul inside. "What are you thinking, going by that vampire again! Haven't I warned you many times never to be with him?! Why do you like to be with that monster all the time despite all my warnings?"

Surprised, Haneul looked at her mother who had suddenly snapped in anger and yelled at her. On the receiving end of her mother's burst of anger wasn't the problem to her but the way her mother called Min Hyuk as a monster hurt her. "Min Hyuk is my friend, mother. He helped me today, and yet you call him monster instead of thanking him!"

"Thank?" Her mother scoffed as if the very idea vexed her. "It's because that monster that you went to the forest with him. I have told you not to associate yourself with him again! What will you do if you become the center of the gossip as a woman who is in relationship with a vampire?"

"And what's wrong with loving a vampire? They have heart mother. They are no less than us-"

SLAP!!

Stinging and burning pain form on Haneul's cheek. Her face had turned to the left side with the force her mother put when slapping her. It happened all to sudden that it shocked Haneul as she didn't expect her mother would suddenly slap her.

"Throw that dirty idea off your mind!" Her mother yelled, her eyes glowed in anger. "Loving a vampire? Unless you are insane and mad, you wouldn't take him as a love interest. He is a vampire! A vampire! And what are you, Haneul? You are a human. You are both cut from two different piece of clothe. You cannot change what you are and neither could he! Love between vampire and human have never been accepted anywhere. Do you think after all that, you will still be able to be with him?!"

Haneul didn't reply, she was still startled by her mother who had raised her hand across her cheeks. She curled her finger that was over her cheeks, "No one will accept us if you, my own mother doesn't accept me."

"I will never accept it, over my dead body that my only daughter is in a relationship with a vampire! You have only a single choice, Haneul," Her mother warned and Haneul could feel the raw ire her mother showed to her which she had never seen before regardless of how her mother was angry. "To forget that detestable vampire and marry Mr. Han."

"I don't want to-" Haneul saw her mother's hand raised and another slap was delivered to the same cheek Mrs. Sol had slapped earlier.

Mrs. Sol stepped out of the room and then locked the door from the outside.

"Mother!" Haneul yelled, knocking on the door when she heard her mother yelled for everyone including her who was in the room to hear,

"Don't open this door until Haneul reflect on her wrongdoings and mistake. No food should be delivered to her either! If anyone one of you dare to go against my word, you can expect for the worse!" Mrs. Sol ordered the servants who stood in front of Haneul's words. Then her mother turned to the door, knowing her daughter was in front of it, saying, "It is time for you to learn what you can do and the line you should never cross. Vampires are being of another world. They live differently than us. Do you know how much hatred is between vampire and humans? We don't accept them as they do to us. The only thing I will not allow in my life is to have my daughter in the hand of a vampire. Unless you remove that thought from your head and the very disgusting imagination you built with that vampire, you should be locked in your room for your entire life!"

"Mother?" Haneul asked when she heard no more sound. "Mother!" She yelled again, banging her hand on the door. She could tell there was servants outside but it was Mrs. Sol's words against Haneul, they can't do anything that could upset the lady unless they want to be fired from the house. 

With no one hearing her voice, Haneul's hand that turn to a fist loosened and her body slid on the door.. "Min Hyuk," she whispered the name of the man who she wish to meet now, the man who was her solace.
