I'm The Boss's Secretary?!

Chapter 299 - Putting It To Place-III

"Are you alright, Miss Seoyeon?" ask Hans, the butler who appeared only three years older than Hwa when they left.

"I am alright," Seoyeon hold her wrist and Hans's attention fall on her wrist that were red. It was easy to know who had done it and why Mrs. Valerie had done it.

"I will quickly bring an ointment. There is an ointment use for bruises we always prepare at times like these," said the butler and Seoyeon didn't reject his offer. She waited for the butler to come with a flat circular case. Opening the lid by turning it on one direction, Hans passed the case to her hands.

Seoyeon was wondering about her job, if she had worked in a normal company, she was sure she might have been fired. Money had been her top priority as she needed it to pay Seojun's tuition but now she felt that the need to know about herself was more important and she had to put this case before her work.

After smearing the ointment to her skin, Seoyeon then wondered about the power that came from her earlier. In no way was a human would be able to grip a vampiress's hand until the skin discolor unless the person wasn't a human. Was it because she had seen the first catalyst from the lucid dream? Because once the dream became clearer to her on who it was that she dreamt of, now she could feel a stronger connection of her power. But on how to use it, Seoyeon didn't know how and she didn't want to try it for fear that she would kill people in her own trial.

"Earlier," Seoyeon said gathering Hans's attention as they let the corridor and Seoyeon made her way to the garden where grandfather Jung had brought her to. "What do you mean by having the ointment in hands for time like these? Does Mrs. Valerie often put others to the same disposition?"

"It was to the maids," Hans revealed, seeing nothing there is to hide as he couldn't care about Valerie's reputation. He found the lady to not only be demanding but a headache as well for him. "Some were often put to the same predicaments but she never kill others because Master Jung oppose her from killing others in the house."

Which mean if grandfather Jung hadn't warn Mrs. Valerie not to kill, she would have killed people, thought Seoyeon in silence. On the way, the statement Mrs. Valerie gave still lingers in her head. Still now, she doesn't doubt Jung Hwa and she wondered why Valerie had come to such a lie.

"How long have you've been working here, Mr. Hans?" Seoyeon asked the butler who accompany her by two steps behind.

Hans took time to recollect, "Not too long, maybe after the butler before me died, around the time after the death of young master's older brother death. The funeral was held here and I heard the house where the young master and the late lady live was sold."

"They don't live here?" Seoyeon asked but then she noticed that although there were things in Hwa's room, it doesn't seem like it hold any fond memories. She also noted how his room and his personal house were both empty that it almost had no sign of a living person there.

"They don't. They leave quite far away from Seoul. I remember it was in Daegu, Busan or maybe it was in Jeju Island," replied the butler unsure. "I remember that during the funeral was held here, it had a little trouble because the body needed to be transported soon. The master insisted on holding the funeral here to see his grandson once again for the last time."

"How was Hwa then?" Seoyeon asked, curious. She could somehow imagine his empty gaze, and his bleak eyes while watching the funeral session. Having lost someone before, Seoyeon could sympathize with his loss.

"I didn't see him," answered the butler, "I didn't see the first young master's body either. The funeral was discreet and hold privately."

"Was Mrs. Valerie there?" Seoyeon then questioned again and the butler nodded.

"There was a ruckus during the time she had entered the funeral, insisting to see the body which the master refused and admonished. It even take years for the master to forgive the scene Lady Valerie caused," sighed the butler when he remembered the disturbance she was put into and had to take care on his first day of work.

Seoyeon pulled her brows, "Do you know what was the reason?" and the butler shook his head.

"There is little things that we know as servants. We have arrive here, would you like to have your breakfast here as well, Miss?" questioned Hans.

"No, that won't be needed," Seoyeon tendered a smile to be butler who was polite to her. "I will eat the breakfast outside the house. I just need a little time of myself, is that alright?"

Being a sensible one, Hans didn't ask why and bowed, leaving the place. Seoyeon made her way to enter, standing at the heart of the garden where there was a fountain. Seeing the garden under the morning sky help her to have a better look at her surrounding. She wondered if her parents were killed in this house or maybe it was in the garden.

There were many emotions Seoyeon pick when it come to her dead parents. She didn't hate them but she indeed oppose their idea of killing innocent people or vampires. To hear that they had taken one last job in order to leave the bloody world of witches for good make her happy. In the past she wondered if her parents loved her like other child and it was only now that she finds out that even if it was late, they had sacrificed themselves for her and that is enough to have her pay them respect as her birth parents.

When she get to the two graves, Seoyeon bent her knees. She poured water on the gravestone that had webs covering and dusts. Once she had cleaned the gravestones, she then pulled out the wedding ring.

"Thank you for giving birth to me," Seoyeon said while staring at the gravestones, "Seeing how you two tried to leave the witchess's life, maybe it was a very dangerous place for me to live there and for making that choice of leaving thank you. I am grateful for all that you have domed for me and as for what you are not able, please be at rest, someone in place YP of you had helped me and they are great people. I hope you two could meet up there..." Seoyeon then realized how it must be impossible seeing how her parents had killed people while the Han couple had lived in harmony without bloodshed. "Maybe once you two have paid your sins. I will borrow the rings," Seoyeon took the rings to her finger, trying to fit where it would fit and as the ring didn't fit her ring finger, she decided to wear it on her index finger, using both at the same time.

After making a prayer, Seoyeon then left the garden when she heard a large howl filled the garden. Her eyes went wide and curiosity won over her. Making her way towards where the sound started from, she then saw a large kennel and a wolf stood on its four legs.

A lean male servant fell on the ground. Not far away from him was a bucket filled with raw meat. "Please don't scare me when you want to eat," the man sighed and he looked back, finding Seoyeon he once again cower on the ground, shocked as she had made no sound upon coming near the place.

"What are you doing?" She asked even though she could see what the servant was trying to do.

The servant noticed it was the guest, "Oh, Miss I am feeding the wolf. The young master often feed it if he comes and the wolf only eat from him that I often be in trouble like these. Maybe he thought I'm poisoning him? Though there is no advantage from poisoning a wolf. He is took wary."

"I will try," Seoyeon offered and the man looked at her confused.

"You wouldn't want to try it miss. Last time... Miss Barbara tried to feed the wolf," the servant started and ended his words with a sigh.

"She did?" Seoyeon didn't know Barbara came before, "And what happened?"

"She was bitten. The wolf took a large bite of her arm wounding the young miss's entire arm. I heard she is still suffering from pain even though she is a vampire. Wolves are said to be the opposite of vampires and maybe that is why," the servant said with a hum.

Is that why she didn't see Barabara with her mother earlier? Maybe the girl got scared once her arm was bitten by? "Can I take over for a moment?" The servant want to stop her and she said, "I have pat it before maybe it would take my presence better. Wolves remember scents of a human who comes near them and he might remember me."

The servant wondered when the guest had patted the wolf's head but didn't ask further and let her take over.

Seoyeon was still a little scared of the wolf who bared its sharp teeth on her. Coming nearer, she bent her knees to have an eye level contact with the wolves's bright eyes. With one palm in front, the wolf took a sniff on her only relaxing after a while. At first she wondered if the wolf wouldn't bite her and to her surprise it didn't. The way the wolf lowered its glaring eyes encourage her to reach out her hand to enter the kennel and softly she ruffled the fur above the wolf's mouth.

The wolf lowered its bottom, taking a seat and Seoyeon smiled at its behavior that were no less than a dog, "You can feed it now," she said. The servant was surprised and immediately did what she had instructed and to his surprise, the wolf took a well dine of the raw meat.

Seoyeon patted the wolf some more, and only patted away after a while. She find that even the most dangerous animal could be adorable if they were in your side. The animal reminded her when she had first found out she was a witch and Jung Hwa's decision of not killing or hating her which she couldn't express how relieved she was.

After leaving the garden from her small stroll, Seoyeon left the house to visit the hospital when from the garden a crisp cry of a cat rang but wasn't heard by anyone.
