I'm The Boss's Secretary?!

Chapter 328 - Blood To Blood-III

The red liquid continuously flow from his mother's mouth, like beautiful but also dreadful jewel-like fluid that gleamed when it reached the ground. Her beautiful face now was drenched with both blood and an extremely frightening expression twisted her face muscle in pain.

Her fingernails grew sharper and thicker and the moment she placed one hand on the glass table, trying to push herself from the chair, the glass surface crack, at the same time Jung Hwa, who had been watching the transformation that happened in a breath also felt his heart crack.

"H...Hwa..." came his mother's voice who was crawling her way toward him, staggering each steps like a drunk person but she wasn't drunk from alcohol— it was the pain.

"Mother," whispered Jung Hwa, his voice was utterly low, coming from the back of his throat as he had to push the word from his mouth with much difficulty.

He heard a sound of a cat's cry from his left side, finding the cat that he owned after he took it from his elder brother. The way the cat cry stuck in his mind in the split second. To him, it was as if the cry of the black cat was a warning of the tragedy and the choice he would have to take in a few other minutes.

"It-It is the tea. Poison..." said Jung Hyesu, clenching her chest where the pain started, her veins popped from her hands, showing it bluish-green and purplish veins that strummed above her skin, pulsating as if she had been electrocuted.

Jung Hwa did the same as what he did in the past, running to his mother's side, catching her on his hands, before the woman fell on the ground, "Poison? What poison?" His eyes darted form his mother who showed sign of transformation into a hollowed vampire while he looked a the teapot laid on the ground.

His mother managed to clenched her hand around his shirt, pulling him closer as she gagged on the blood that settled on the back of her throat, "Did you drink it?"

"I did," and Jung Hwa knew now that it was not the tea that had been poisoned it was something else but then he had no clue, "Stay with me mother, I will find a vampire doctor," he said in haste, trying to pick his mother when a sharper scream howled from his mother's mouth.

"No!" Breathed Jung Hyesu, still holding to Jung Hwa's collar with a vice grip. Her eyes had turned hollow and Jung Hwa could see her losing her focus as she stared at the sky instead of him when he was right in front of her. "You can't it's too late... I am already a loss cause."

"We don't know that yet, the doctor will be able to do something," Jung Hwa pressed, "I will bring someone to help you in less than a minute."

"Listen to me!" His mother yelled, she was in pain but all in his entire life, Jung Hwa remembered his mother to be a very proud woman that she won't allow herself to appear weak even when she was about to meet her demise.

"I have lost," his mother final words had been decided but Jung Hwa shook his head. She wasn't the best mother in the world but the only mother to him.

Jung Hwa clenched his jaw in the situation his mother went through, but managed to smile, "You haven't lost mother, you are always the winner you always say yourself. Trust me, we can do something about this, poison don't work to pureblood vampires."

"There is one that work," despite Jung Hyesu's strong nature, even she wasn't a winner against pain or death. Her voice went feeble, something that would have never come from her mouth. "It is a hollowed vampire's potion."

Jung Hwa shook his head, closing is eyes tight and opening it again as his red color gaze glistened. "Potion?"

"W...witch!" His mother said with struggle then went back to a series of scream of pain. Jung Hwa could only watch how gradually his mother fell into a state she had ever been. Her body convulsed and seeing her, caused him to panic as he had never been in this situation before.

He bit his lips, controlling his power he then closed his eyes, whispering, "Stop the potion from spreading," his words were rushed. Everything happened so suddenly that it was difficult for anyone to react, not even his mother was able to do anything.

The moment he had used his blood ability, Jung Hyesu's vein turn less errant. She could grasp her breaths again but had lost her sight. A tear trickled down from the corner of her eye, sliding down from her pale skin where it turn less alive with the sudden loss of blood she suffered through.

In a moment, she started to realize the warm liquid on her hand but noticed it wasn't hers. It was rather her son's. Throughout the pain sequence, she had used a deadly grip on her son's shoulder, causing blood to draw from Jung Hwa's shoulder but rather than running away, Jung Hwa stayed beside his mother.

"You know about the potion. Is there a way to heal it? Tell me, mother," Jung Hwa demanded for answer, his voice went lower but not to taunt rather because he was shocked and angry— angry over himself as he wasn't able to do anything.

"You and I both... know that nothing can heal a hollowed vampire, Hwa," she said, trying to focus her sight on him which continue to blur. "Are you there?"

Jung Hwa saw his mother's hand waving across his face as if trying to find its way to search for him and he took the hand preciously, placing it against his cheek, "I am here, mother." He gave her his ear, all his focuses, intently listening to what she said as her words became more difficult to catch by each passing seconds.

"In our world, there is nothing more painful then loosing our heart, turning into mindless being that would kill, a hollowed vampire. I don't want that to happen to me, I live by my own rule just as I have done, do you understand that?" She asked, holding to his cheeks. "Did you leave?"

Jung Hwa wanted to leave to find a medicine but was there a medicine. He knew it painfully that there was no medicine to cure a hollowed vampire. Throughout his life he had seen, killed them and knew it better than anyone that the last ending for a hollowed vampire was death.

Because death is a mercy to those hollowed vampires.

He shut his eyes, his hand on his side turning to a tight fist until his skin turn white, his knuckles crack, "I didn't leave mother, I am here. I understand what you mean."

"Then you also understand what to do to me, don't you?" Jung Hyesu asked and she felt him shake his head.

"Don't say that. There must be a way... I know there must be. There is no illness that cannot be cured."

"But death cannot be cured," said his mother, her words decisive as ever. "I have lived long enough, Hwa. I had experience the things I needed. My only regret is that I am not able to find the person who poisoned me and rip their heart but I trust that you would do that for me."

"I would," Jung Hwa swore an oath.  Not only will he kill the culprit, he swore to kill them in a method where they would be begging on their feet for death.. His hand grip tighter, causing his fingernails to extract blood from the graze of his palm.
