The shady man sat on a plain wooden chair. Everywhere was dimly lit, and so for the most part, dark. He kept toying with the knife he held, flinging it into the air, and catching it. His crazed smile indicated bloodlust, and his eyes were fixated on the person before him.
The woman was tied tightly to a giant board in front of him, and his gaze never left her for a moment. She was bait after all, to lure in his grand prize. He could hardly contain his urge... Such was the nature of the Reaper.
Suddenly the phone he hard on him started buzzing. Only his clients had the number which was on the phone, and given the timing, there was only one person who would call him at the moment. He picked the call.
"Is it done?" The distorted voice asked from the other end of the call.
The Reaper smiled a bit maniacally.
"Yes, I know. I can't say I approve of the way you do things, but just get the job done!" The voice replied.
"Have I ever failed?" The Reaper asked.
"No, so don't start now!" The voice snapped.
Then the call ended.
The reaper gave off a sign of irritation. He obviously didn't like the man's tone, but he had to tolerate it. Not for long though...
"Hehehehe... Just you wait Major, after 'Him', you'll be next!" He said with a wider grin and bloodthirsty eyes.
Then he bellowed in crazed laughter, the echoes of which filled the entire dark room he was in.

Darey had two options before him. One was to wait and finish off the suspicious characters surrounding his house. The second would be to head straight to finding his mom and her capturer.
Time was running out, and he was already exhausted. It wouldn't do him any good to drag things out any further. He felt frustrated, for him to have not considered the possibility of the situation happening... How pitiful.
The truth was that this never happened in his previous life, so it was as a result of him altering certain events that this new timeline had occurred. Of course he had expected alternate events occurring due to his interference. He had even counted on it. If he could not change events that occurred previously, then there was no way he would be able to stop the Harvest.
But this... This was sooner than he had predicted. His mom was supposed to die eventually, but it wasn't supposed to happen as soon as his, and the way she died previously was also different, meaning vents had been altered... Because of him. There was only one thing that connected these events together, other than him. Darey knew the mastermind behind this whole scenario.
"So you've finally made your move, Major." Darey said to himself.
There was no time to wait around, not with the situation he was in. Darey hurriedly went up the stairs leading to his room. He quickly opened the door to his room, shutting it loudly behind him. He opened his window and looked from it to the ground. The height was not too much.
Darey jumped out the window, something his assailants never expected. They all presumed that he would injure himself a bit, making their jobs easier, so they stood down. There was no such thing.
Darey landed on his two feet, crouching a bit to brace the impact he felt from fall. He wasted no time remaining in his position and sprinted away. The speed he displayed was beyond the expectations of the agents who had supposedly surrounded his vicinity.
According to their information, the Abilities the three boys had were not even enhancing powers, but non combative ones. Why then was the kid before them displaying such superhuman speed?
"Our intel tells us there are a total of three kids in the house. Team A, locate and apprehend the other two still inside, Team B stand by, the rest come with me. We're going after the brat." The leader of the intruders yelled immediately he realized what was going on.
"Yes sir." They responded.
Darey sensed the men pursuing him. They were in their vehicles, which would prove some trouble.
"Tch, what a pain." Darey said under his breath, increasing his pace.
From what he could sense, a total of 30 men had surrounded the house, 21 male, 9 female. About 9 were chasing him in the vehicle, while 10 were entering his house. The remaining 11 agents remained outside, securing the vicinity.
Darey decided not to take the major street path. In order to shake off his pursuers he had to be smarter. He began by running by the sidelines, and then by then by using the buildings in the area as cover, he moved swiftly. He disappeared from the sight of his pursuers in no time.
"The question is... What comes next?" Darey asked himself.
If he exposed himself or came out from where he hid, they would immediately pick him up. Also, he was sure they had at least one Ability User with them, probably a mediocre one though. They would also have some kind of heat and motion sensor on them. This would make running away difficult.
There was only one place he could go for the time being, even though he would end up wasting time. He had to get rid of his pursuers... No matter the cost.
Darey quickly dashed from where he hid, triggering the motion sensors which spanned the whole area. The agents immediately picked up on his location, and turned their vehicles swiftly to apprehend him.
It was a bold move for him, especially in his current state, and the factor of limited time, but he had to get rid of them.
After a while, the agents could pinpointed his location, Darey had halted. They immediately sped and arrived at the location, but couldn't find their targets. The agents came down from the vehicles they boarded, and the only thing their eyes could see was the Dump before them.
"That's strange... The Radar says he's exactly here..." The agent with the detection device said with a confused tone.
"Oh, so that's how it is..." The leader said with a smirk.
"Oh, You know what's going on?" Another agent asked.
"Yeah. An underground structure lies in this area. The entrance is somewhere around this dump. The kid must have somehow known of this place, that's probably why the Boss wants him dead." The Leader responded.
"I already have the blueprint to this area, the boss gave me just in case... Now, let's get our prey." The Leader said with a smirk, and his underlings nodded with approval, some smiling in response.
It didn't take them long to find the platform which opened the path to the underground structure. As soon as the platform took them down, the Leader signaled to his men, who immediately brought out their Diamantite equipment, which brightened up the dark space.
"Now, Let's see you hide brat." The Leader said with an assertive tone.
"I think you're all misunderstanding something here..." A voice suddenly spoke out, the echoes reverberating around the underground structure.
The agents looked all around for traces of their target.
"Wha... This doesn't make sense, he's supposed to be right in front of us." The Radar guy said in panic.
"About who's the predator, and who's the prey..." Darey's voice grew more menacing.
"Show yourself brat." The Leader said authoritatively.
Suddenly, a hazy silhouette appeared out of nowhere. Immediately, out of reflex the agents shot at the shadowy appearance before them. The loud noise of gunfire, and the sparks filled he whole expanse.
After a while the noise quieted down, and the agents looked around, and at one another, confirming their success... Or not.
"Looks like you missed." The voice suddenly began again.
Darey's figure suddenly appeared behind all the agents, and a red glow started shining behind them. Their eyes and faces turned, and they saw the horror that awaited them.
"Bang!" Darey said, his index finger pointing at them, and the red glow launched from his index finger, with his entire hand bent like a gun.
The red light moved too quick for them to even raise their guns and like a bullet, pierced every one of the agents which pursued him. The ball of light ricocheted and bounced from target to target, penetrating their bodies and exiting the other holes until their bodies were filled with holes. Their hands and legs had been rendered useless.
Immediately, they all fell to the ground and blood oozed from their wounds. Darey walked toward them slowly until he was close to their line of sight, directly above their lying bodies. Their vision was blurred, and head felt hazy. Their body also screamed in pain. They had been so confident of their certain victory... Success was assured. But what was this? They lost due to a single move from their target.
"I am the Hunter... And you unfortunate ones are the hunted." Darey spoke condescendingly to the powerless attackers beneath him.
"I intentionally avoided all your vital spots, but if you don't receive medical attention soon, you could die of blood loss and infection. I'd call the rest of the squad if I were you." Darey continued.
The Leader groaned, trying to regain posture, but he was too battered to make a move.
"Don't get the wrong idea here. I could kill you easily if I wanted. If you show the tiniest bit of resistance, I'll put you down here... Permanently." Darey spoke coldly, his eyes showing the sincerity of his words.
The Leader saw this and shuddered. He admitted it... It was his loss.
Darey left the agents, and then went back to the surface to continue his mission... It was a race against time!
"But... Sir, why didn't we use our trump card. We have an Ability User with us, if we had..." An agent asked, still groaning in pain from the attack.
"Forget it. It wouldn't have worked anyway. It would have just resulted in all of us being killed." The Leader said, broken down.
"B-But sir..." He protested.
The Leader's eyes fell. He was silent for a while, and then he looked at his junior.
"Didn't you see his eyes...? That kid... Those were the eyes of a killer! A true predator. I don't know what he did to piss of the Boss, but... This one will definitely cost him!" The Leader said, utterly defeated.
"That kid... He's definitely the most dangerous of all the men I've faced so far... And that includes the Boss himself." He finished.
The Diamantite lights flickered, as the only sound that filled the room was the groanings of the agents present, and the phone dial made to the rest of the agents for immediate assistance, and to steer clear of their target... No, their Predator... They could do no more than that.
Darey ran and ran, trying to determine the position of the enemy, of his mother. There were too many variables to consider, too many factors to analyze.
And then it struck him.
"Oh... So that's how it is!" Darey said in realization.
Sweat dripping from his face, and his entire outfit drenched with blood and his perspiration.
He quickly sped off, leaving nothing but dust behind him, headed toward the destination of the enemy... To Hunt!
