Ability Index (Tenny)

COWARD'S PARADISE: Allows him to freely teleport to a destination of his choice, as well as automatically teleport a safe distance away from his adversary. Allows him to completely sense the location and shape, as well as other basic information of everything within his spatial range. He can create portals and distortions in space, as well as open up Gates, though it takes a lot of energy. He can switch locations with his target and switch the locations of two targets.

YEAR: 2161

LOCATION: Site F3, Examination Area, Orion Academy Outer Zone

Tenny was nervous, he had every reason to be.

Darey had told them all about the objectives of the Placement Exams beforehand, and what they were to aim for, though he never mentioned anything about himself.

Tenny knew what had to be done, but he was still anxious about what kind of test he would be given... After all, even Darey didn't know the nature of the exams he would be given.

He entered his Exam room, and the large blank drew him in. He entered, leaving the closing door behind him. He looked around, but couldn't see anyone in sight. Then suddenly he heard a voice.

"Welcome, Participant. Kindly move forward to the center of the room so you may begin your exam." A voice appeared.

Tenny nervously moved to the spot indicated to him. The tile, which was the center of the room, glowed faintly, and Tenny stood on it.

"Excellent. This is your Placement Supervisor speaking, in case you haven't noticed." The voice continued.

Tenny wasn't sure if it was just him, but the tone and language of the supervisor seemed awfully saucy. Was the Supervisor mocking him?

"Na, it's just my imagination." He said to himself.

"Now pay close attention to the rules of this exam. They will only be shown to you once, so pay close attention." The voice instructed.

Tenny was getting slightly irritated by the Supervisor's speech.

"Do they have to repeat the paying attention part? I'm not dumb, y'know?" Tenny grumbled to himself, but there was nothing he could do.

The blank wall displayed written contents in it, as though it was projected. Tenny went on to read it attentively.

RULES AND CONDITIONS

Primary Objective- Participant must survive the assaults of the enemies for the time allocated to him.

Intermediate Objective: Participant should destroy at least half of the enemies in the room within the time limit.

Ultimate Objective: Participant should finish the Advanced Objective within one hour.

Participant's Ability: COWARD'S PARADISE- Allows the user to warp space, allowing the user to teleport, not only himself but others, to any feasible location.

Handicap: Since it is not entirely an Offensive Ability, enemies will be of the high level and the level of difficulty will be reduced by 1. Number of enemies will be of high level.

Additional Information: No communication whatsoever will be allowed between participant and Supervisor until after the examination is completed. Furthermore, examination will begin immediately the participant accepts the conditions.

Time Limit: 3 hours

Minimum Conditions for Victory:

- Participant remaining conscious after the time limit is reached.

Conditions for Failure:

- The Participant loses consciousness before the end of the time limit.

- The Participant engages in any form of malpractice

- The Participant fails to use his Ability at least once before the end of the time limit

Tenny took his time to read every single word, paying attention to every detail. Since he wouldn't be getting any help from his Supervisor, he was literally going to be on his own. Besides, Darey had told him to always pay attention to the littlest details... He wasn't going to be careless.

"For the plan... I must succeed!" Tenny resolved within himself.

"I Accept" Tenny declared.

"Examination will now commence!" The Supervisor stated.

The projected writings immediately vanished, and then Tenny heard rumblings al around the room. Just what kind of enemies would he be facing?

The rumblings grew louder and louder, he looked everywhere, all around the blank room, but saw no signs of the enemy.

"I need to calm myself... Remember my training" Tenny said, closing his eyes.

Using his Special Ability, he could sense everything within that space, including the Supervisor. He had nearly forgotten that fact in the state of his panic. Since there were no Special Ability disabling properties in the room, he would be able to use his Special Abilities with no restrictions.

Tenny suddenly felt his lips quiver in anticipation as it formed a wide smile.

"Compared to training with Darey... This will be a breeze." Tenny said.

Suddenly he teleported away from his location, and immediately he did, the entire platform where he stood was destroyed. Tenny understood now.

But before he had time to think, he disappeared once again, and the spot in which he stood before vanishing was also destroyed.

Tenny appeared at a different spot once again.

After repeating this process a couple of times, he had grasped most of what his exams were about. To put it simply, there were a few things involved in his exams.

Firstly, the entire room was filled with motion sensors, cameras, homing and sensory devices, allowing his opponents to know his exact location immediately he was there.

Secondly, the rumbling at the start was merely a ruse for him to misconceive who and where his enemies were. They weren't giant robots or huge machines...

They were snipers.

Surrounding the room were multiple snipers, and they were cloaked for that matter. This meant that he couldn't see them, but had to guess ,or rather, pinpoint their location from the angle of the attacks.

Normally, that would prove very tricky for him, but... Using his Spatial Senses, he could tell exactly where the snipers were firing from. A major thing Darey ensured was that when registering Tenny, Kyron and even his own Special Abilities, they omitted certain parts of their abilities and their workings. This way, even Orion didn't know Tenny's full capabilities.

Using that to his advantage, he could easily win this examination. But... In order not to rouse caution and raise suspicion, he had to play by their rules, and most importantly, he had to stick to the plan.

One thing he knew for sure, however, was this...

"With the way I am now, with my mastery of my Special Ability, and with Darey's prior training... Even achieving the Ultimate Objective will be easy." Tenny thought.

But he wouldn't... He would stick to the plan.

An hour later, and Tenny had still not destroyed any of the snipers. In order to ensure that he didn't wear himself out, intervals were given in between the shots fired. Tenny knew there were 9 snipers, four at each corner of the room, four at the four walls of the room, and the final one was on the ceiling. He knew their exact locations, and since an hour had passed, this meant the Ultimate Objective could no longer be reached.

"Well then... Let us begin." He said to himself with a smile.

Tenny could sense the sniper by his left was about to launch an attack. Good, he was anticipating that.

As the shot was fired, Tenny teleported to the sniper's position and with a swift kick, blew away the mechanical gun. The cloaking effect wore off immediately, and Tenny saw with his own two eyes, the gun-like machine which had been firing at him for the past hour. The other snipers didn't give him time to rest though. Immediately he took one down, another fired, but Tenny was faster since he could predict when they would fire.

He teleported mid-air, and appeared to the location of the next sniper, dealing the same damage he dealt to the first, this time with his fist.. He was tired of running and wasting time. He was going to end this as quickly as possible.

Using his Spatial Senses one more time to determine the location of every one of the remaining snipers, he teleported. Appearing and disappearing almost immediately to every corner and part of the room where they were located.

By using his hands, to disassemble, his legs to hit, and his fists to pummel, he destroyed the remaining obstacles in his path.

Within seconds, all the snipers fell to the ground, their cloaks removed, and their metallic bodies damaged.

"All done" Tenny said, dusting his hands.

Tenny looked up, facing the location of the Supervisor, who was hidden behind the blank wall which she used to observe him.

"U-Uh... You pass." The Supervisor said nervously, stuttering and losing composure.

Tenny smiled, it felt good to shove her attitude down her ass. That's right, his supervisor was a woman. How did he know? Spatial Sense.

"Congratulations, you fulfilled the Advanced Objective. This means you are now an Advanced Stage student. Further details will be given to you subsequently. You may now leave the Examination Chamber." The Examination Supervisor retorted, still shocked at Tenny's performance.

"Why, thank you miss." Tenny said, waving as he left the room.

"W-Wait... How do you..." The flustered supervisor said, shocked by how he knew her gender, since the speaker displayed a neutral sounding voice, not her real one.

Before she could complete her question, Tenny was already gone.

"That kid... Just who is he?" She said, as she looked at all the snipers in the room, all destroyed.

"Within a minute, he decimated every single one... As though he knew where they were all along. That kid... He could have finished this exam within half an hour... No, probably within Ten minutes if he wanted..." She said to herself.

"Fufufufufufu... What an interesting kid..." She said, smiling to herself.
