As expected, even Ojii-san did not know how to incubate a Wyvern’s egg, so for now, why don’t I try warming it. I don’t think that the egg would turn into a boiled egg if I used body heat, and when I pour in my mana in order to turn it into a familiar, if I use recovery magic or something, then it would definitely be alright! …that was what should’ve happened.

「O~i, can you incubate this egg?」

One should go to a specialist for the best results, so I made a request to the professional of warming eggs. That’s right, it was the Big Kokkos. Their numbers were increasing favorably and there were more than a hundred of them at the farm. Most of them were Kokkos that were hatched from eggs. At the farm, there were no other egg hatching pros other than them. 

「This, is a Wyvern’s egg, but can you incubate it?」

I see, certainly, the egg was too big as well, huh. It seems that because the egg was big enough to hold, it would be difficult for the Big Kokkos to warm it up. In that case, perhaps I’ll call in reinforcements.

And so, the reinforcement that I called were them. They were the mother wolves and the mother Kolbolds. The fur of the wolves and Kolbolds would probably be good for warming the egg, so I tried calling them over. A child would, more or less, be born, so I tried getting mothers who had finished raising their children. There was quite the number of them, so it could be warmed in turns. As for me, I was the one in charge of pouring my mana into the egg. As a matter of fact, the egg was not yet my familiar. The reason was simple, the egg did not yet have a demon nucleus core. From my previous experience, if my mana was allowed to infiltrate into the demon nucleus core, then it would become my familiar, but perhaps it was because it was an egg as it could not be found. I would most likely be able to do it in the future, but I think that if I poured my mana into it from the beginning, then it would be much easier than before to turn it into my familiar, but…. And so, I continued pouring my mana into the egg day and night. I didn’t know how much to pour in, so I increased the amount gradually. Halfway, I suddenly thought of something and I tried changing the nature of my mana. I didn’t know if it would turn out well, but it would be good if it was born healthily. Once in a while, my younger sister would put the egg into her clothes to warm it, but I had to warm her so that she wouldn’t drop and crack it.

Two days after incubating the egg, I was pouring in my mana, but there had been no changes in the egg. However, it seems that the mana was absorbed by the egg, so perhaps it was effective.

Four days after incubating the egg, it seems that the mana that had been absorbed by the egg up until now was concentrated at the center of the egg. I hope that this was the correct development….

A week after incubating the egg, it seems that a demon nucleus core had formed in the egg. At this rate, if I continued to pour my mana into the demon nucleus core, I would definitely be able to turn the Wyvern into my familiar.

Ten days after incubating the egg, a problem had occurred. No, I don’t think that it was anything bad, but when I tried using『Appraisal』on it, thinking that it should become my familiar any time now, it had change from『Wyvern’s Egg』to『Wind Wyvern’s Egg』before I realized it. Perhaps it was because this was Dragon Forest, so the mana was of the wind attribute? And I was pouring the mana into it, so maybe that was the reason why. Indeed, I vaguely felt the wind attribute from the mana within Dragon Forest, but was the amount too much?

「Aah, it is definitely because of the wind attribute mana. There are also a lot of monsters that specialize in an attribute. This is also the case for the wolves as well, you know? They’re the Wind Wolf and Snow Wolf. Of course, the Wyverns are no exception.」

I asked Ojii-san about what I did not understand, and when I did so, it seems that, as expected, my mana was the cause of it. No, it was originally leaning towards the wind attribute, so it just gave it a push? If there’s a chance, I wanted to try raising Wyverns of different attributes, but as expected, the second and third Wyverns would be difficult. Before that, I needed to raise the Wind Wyvern properly.

And so, a month after incubating the egg, I did not know if this was slow or fast, but the Wind Wyvern finally hatched from the egg.
