Lady Spring

Chapter 5.1

— Howdy! Translator of this sexy novel here! I just wanted to thank the readers for your love and support! This is my first time translating smut, and so far, I am having lots of fun. (Maybe too much fun…???) I hope you are all enjoying Saeun’s journey as well!

I will try my best to continue uploading as regularly as possible. I do, however, have several other gigs that I must focus on, so I hope you understand if I slow down a little from time to time.

But this is my baby, so I’m going to try really hard! (I mean, who needs sleep, right?!)

Anyway, I can tell you that the story gets hotter and hotter, and the story line improves greatly as well. So I hope you keep reading!

Thanks!

“You need to get some more clothes.”

Saeun looked down at Wooyoung, who was laying on the floor watching TV after breakfast. He was lazing around while still wearing the t-shirt and sweatpants she lent him the first night. The outer layer was one thing, but didn’t he need underwear? Saeun frowned awkwardly. It wasn’t that she had never bought men’s underwear before, but it was unpleasant every time she had to do it.

He raised an eyebrow.

“Do I look dirty? I washed them yesterday while you were out.”

“You know how to do laundry too?”

When her eyes widened in surprise, Wooyoung chuckled.

“Of course. Do you think they wash your underwear for you in the dorm? I have been washing my own clothes since the first day. If I don’t keep my them clean, Sehyun gets annoyed.”

“Sehyun?”

He frowned and smiled at the same time.

“You don’t know the other members of my group, do you?”

Of course not. She, of course, had Strawberry Fields’ albums and watched the group on TV. But her eyes were always glued to Wooyoung, so she couldn’t even remember the other members’ names. And it wasn’t like this group often appeared on any talk shows.

“Jay, whose real name is Jaejun, is the leader. Sangone, the tall one with long hair, is the youngest. And the shortest and youngest looking guy is Sehyun.  Sehyun is also our dance choreographer.”

“Oh, okay.”

She has never been interested in idols even in high school. That was why it felt strange to hear these big stars being described in ordinary terms. Wooyoung sat up and leaned against a wall.

“Jaejun writes all the songs. We all pitch in, of course, but Jaejun does the 90% of the work. Sangone works as our manager. He’s only 25, but somehow, he has been able to get all the good ad and sponsor contracts. Maybe it’s because he has a good personality, though sometimes, we all wonder if he has a brain at all under his long hair. And like I said before, Sehyun takes care of the choreography. If he didn’t become a singer, I think he would’ve majored in modern dance.”

“What are their ages?”

“Sehyun is a year older than me. Jaejun is three years older, so he’s a little too old for this now. Sangone is two years younger than me.”

Wooyoung rubbed his chin and smiled as he continued,

“I think I need a shaver first.”

His beard wasn’t very long. It was just enough to create a subtle shadow on his chin. The swelling on his face has improved a lot, leaving only some bruises and cuts. Wooyoung looked like a sexy gang from a movie.

Saeun offered,

“You can’t go out, right? I’ll go.”

“You’re gonna go buy men’s underwear? Don’t bother. I’ll go to a convenience store.”

“But you don’t even have any money.”

When she narrowed her eyes sarcastically, Wooyoung gave her a good natured smile. Even in high school, he used to smile often. Even when the other kids asked him to dance, sing, or imitate a comedian, he would do them with a smile.

But now, his smile looked different. Was it because he was older? Somehow, there was a tiredness in his smile. The kind you would see on an overworked salaryman. Saeun shrugged and asked,

“What are your pants and shirt sizes?”

“I wear pants waist size 30, but I need a belt too.  My legs are too long, so I need to wear a size larger.”

Saeun rolled her eyes and smirked.

“Good for you. As you would’ve expected, I always need to shorten my pants. Do you wear a size large on top?”

“Yeah, you can just eyeball the size for me. You’re my mistress after all, so I’ll wear whatever you get for me. Shall I clean the house while I wait?”

Saeun looked around and shook her head.

“My place is so tiny that there isn’t much to clean anyway, so don’t bother. You can do it tomorrow.”

Looking back one last time at Wooyoung, who was waving at her, Saeun headed towards the bus stop. The department store was only two stops away, so she could get his clothes there. Saeun decided against going to the street market because she felt guilty getting him cheap outfits. For herself, she always bought the cheapest clothes and makeup for herself, but this was Min Wooyoung we’re talking about. He had to be used to the best and most expensive clothes since he was a big star.

He probably wore high end brands that never even went on sale in the department store. But unfortunately, she couldn’t afford those things.

After purchasing two jeans and three shirts that were on sale, and a box of underwear, Saeun headed back home. On the way, she dropped by the market and bought fruits that were on sale and some other ingredients for dinner. There were so many bags in her hands that she found it hard to walk with them all.

Groaning, she got off the bus and walked towards her apartment when she heard Strawberry Fields’ new album from the nearby record store. Slowing down her steps, Saeun listened to it quietly.

I like the gentle autumn wind.

The first kiss tasted of the spring sun.

The spring that year was filled with the memories of you.

I fell in love when I was 17.

Thinking of you, who isn’t by my side anymore…

Most of Strawberry Fields’ songs were rock, but they sometimes sang ballads too. She liked this song very much because it was so sweet. But of course, it wasn’t easy to sing along.

So this song must’ve been written by that leader Wooyoung was talking about. This song, “Spring Lady”, wasn’t the only ballad in the new album, but she felt it touched her heart the most. It was light and soft, yet it was also filled with sadness.

Humming along, she finally arrived home. The bags she carried were too heavy, but she didn’t feel okay calling Wooyoung for help. It was her fault for buying too much anyway.

She was opening the door to her apartment when she heard a voice. It was Wooyoung and he sounded very angry.

“Just leave me alone! I just want a few days off, so why can’t I? What’s wrong with that? It’s not like there was anything important scheduled for me for a while.”

Saeun stood still. He must be talking to someone on the phone. Who was it? Maybe his manager?

“Why do you have to know where I am? What does it matter? I know, I know. I won’t cause any trouble, so please leave me alone, okay? Just for a few days. Please? I’m begging you.”

Just for a few days.
