Learning to Love Again

"Mr. Han, I've told you not to touch me. This is sexual harassment."

"Lian, I'm sorry. I'm sorry for everything." He does not let go of her waist but instead buries his head in the space between her neck and shoulder. "I can't get you out of my head, I don't want to either. Please, give me another chance."

Sorry?

Another chance?

She had been so devoted to him and he cheated on her. He left her so miserable and broken. As if a sorry could fix that.

And why would she give him another chance to break her heart?

She pushes him away. "You need to leave."

She turns her head around to face him but before she can say anymore, her lips get blocked.

Han Yuan had picked up a piece of chocolate and stuffed it in her mouth. "It's Teuscher. It traveled here all the way from Switzerland just to make you smile."

He didn't want to hear her rejection.

He knows it will take a while to make her accept him again, but he isn't willing to give up.

As long as she is still alive, he still has a chance.

Su Lian couldn't help but munch on the chocolate truffle in her mouth.

Sweet things are her weakness, she's completely helpless against them. But that doesn't mean she'll concede just like that.

Does he think that he can just bribe her with a piece of chocolate?

'Once I finish this, I'll kick him out.' She continues to chew with her cheeks puffed in anger, making her look like a munchkin kitten.

Staring at her facial expression, Han Yuan chuckles to himself. 'How adorable.'

While they were together, he had never noticed how cute she was. In fact, he hadn't noticed anything about her at all. It wasn't until she was gone that he realized the impact she had in his life.

Without him being aware, everything about her had been deeply ingrained in his mind.

Her laughter, her shyness, all of her qualities which he had once ignored, now keeps him up at night.

She haunts his dreams. He's so obsessed that he has a room filled with paintings he made of her.

He just wants to spoil her and see her laugh for him again. Taking her for granted was his biggest mistake.

He has never regretted anything more in his life.

If there was a way for him to start all over again he would.

But he can't.

Life doesn't give restart buttons. He can only beg for her forgiveness and try to redeem himself.

He stares at her. "I'll come back and visit you again tomorrow."

"Don't." Su Lian finishes the chocolate in her mouth and manages to restrain herself from taking another.

Han Yuan can't hide his disappointment. She still does not want to accept him. "In the four years you were gone, I never stopped looking for you. I never stopped thinking about you. Believe me, I want to make things right."

"You really want me to believe that you couldn't find little me with all your resources?"

She won't believe his lies. He had probably forgotten all about her.

Han Yuan remains silent.

He knows that there is no good way to explain this to her. Someone had been compromising their search. He doesn't know who it was or the reason why?

The moment he gets back, he'll find out and give her an answer.

"Wait for me." He walks out leaving her standing in a daze.
