Learning to Love Again

Han Lili sits at her desk and looks at new designs her team put together.

"These are all horrible." She sighs in frustration and tosses the sketches away. "What's wrong with everyone?"

Her assistant picks the papers up as if it's a part of her daily routine. "I'll have them re-make them."

There is nothing wrong with these designs, they're all great. It's just that Ms. Han has been in a foul mood ever since she had dinner with her parents a few days ago.

The assistant walked out, leaving Han Lili brooding with her thoughts.

"No fair, why does she have a son." She plants her face on her desk and whines.

Not too long after, her assistant walks back in with a stoic expression. "Miss, Xiao NaNa is here. She says she has to see you. Should I let her in?"

Xiao NaNa is one of Han Lili's old high school 'friends'. In her opinion, they are more like acquaintances. But she still one of the few people Han Lili gets along with. "Yeah, she can come."

"You posted on Weibo that you were gloomy so I dropped by." A young woman with a bright smile walks in and takes a seat. "I can't stay for long, but I brought a gift to cheer you up."

Han Lili looks up unimpressed. "What did you bring?"

"At least be more enthusiastic, I worked hard for these." Xiao NaNa brings out a white envelope. "They are tickets to see Kim Xia's live concert this evening. I was planning to go myself but my father just asked me to run some errands for him."

Han Lili pouts. "Why would I wanna go to a Kim Xia concert?"

"There are three tickets, you can go with your brother or friends." Xiao NaNa stands up. "I'm leaving now make sure you have fun."

The moment Xiao NaNa said friends, a person popped up into Han Lili's mind.

Even though she can no longer be her sister-in-law, that doesn't mean that they can't still be friends.

Han Lili didn't even wait for Xiao NaNa to walk out the door before she pulled out her phone and started texting Su Lian.

Lili: 'I have tickets to see Kim Xia's live concert. Wanna come with me?'

After a few minutes, she received a reply.

Lian: 'I can't. I promised my son we would spend time together today.'

Lili: 'That's great, you can bring him too. I have three tickets.'

There was no reply for a few minutes and Han Lili felt anxious.

Lian: 'What time?'

Lili: '6 PM'

Su Lian: 'That sounds good.'

Lili: 'I'll come and pick you up. Send me your address.'

Su Lian: 'Sure.'

Han Lili puts away her phone in elation.

She has a date tonight and gets to meet Su Lian's son.

She can't help but wonder how the boy looks?

Does he resemble Su Lian or his father, Su Lian's ex?

Does he have a godmother already? Will Su Lian let him call her aunty Lili?
