Legendary Shadow

Chapter 162 - Zane's Promise

After Liam was done, he turned around and started walking away. Zane did not even have anything to say as he looked to Liam and thought that he was a monster. It was only a few seconds after Liam had walked away did Zane finally come to his senses as he cried out to Liam, "Wait for me master, please train me!"

The cool moment that Liam had as he walked away with the wind blowing through his jacket had entirely disappeared as he tripped and almost fell after hearing the words that Zane had said.

Liam looked at Zane and said, "Sorry buddy, but I'm nobody's master, and I'm not interested in being anybody's Master either. All you have to do is continue training and stop your mischievous ways, clear your mind, and once again do a lot of battles, and you shall be as strong as I am one day."

"I already tried that, Master; please take me under your wing. If you do, you will not regret it. I will not fail you master" Zane said in response.

Liam released a sigh and said, "But I'm nobody's master, so stop calling me that I'm not interested in taking anyone under my wing. Still, my family, which is my growing daughter, one day will be a Pokémon Master, and I want to be there every step of the way to show her the right path to becoming a Pokémon Master."

Zane was dedicated to becoming a student of Liam's after he saw what Liam could do. He did not even see a single Pokémon come out, but he watched as the two people he feared the most in this world were defeated in a few minutes by Liam and wanted to get training from him. If he could be as strong as Liam, who knows what he might do in the future? He could conquer the whole Johto region and more regions if given a chance. Still, he was not able to hide his greediness as Liam saw his face change and the greed in his eyes became very visible. Liam shook his head as he turned back around and left.

As he was leaving, Liam said, "See you later. I'm not interested in training a thug whose greed for nothing, but power has overcome him."

Zane panicked as he quickly got on his knees and started begging Liam to accept him as a student, but it was too late. Liam had used Shadow movement and had disappeared from in front of Zane. By the time Zane raised his head back up, Liam was already gone.

Zane got angry but quickly calmed down as he vowed to get stronger and defeat Liam. "This won't be the last time you see me. The next time you see me, I'll be more robust and I'll beat you, and I'll take whatever secrets you're hiding away from others and add it to my power to get stronger and conquer the world." He declared.

Liam got back to his room, and all he could hear was a crying baby. Sheila rushed up to Liam, and said, "Take Beth. Please, she is driving me nuts. You are the only one that can calm her down." Liam laughed a little before he started focusing on his baby girl and finding out what she needed.

'Hungry, hungry, hungry. Eat, eat, eat, eat.'

That is about what he got out of her as he quickly went to make some food for her from moo moo milk and fed her as she calmed down and went back to sleep. Sheila was always amazed at how good Liam was with babies and could not figure out how he could calm her down every single time.

"Honey" Sheila started to ask as she was curious, "Where were you? I was worried sick about you. I was going to look for you, but then your daughter started crying." Liam shook his head as he said, "Just dealing with a small issue, but it has been dealt with, so no need to worry about me next time."

Sheila nodded her head, and she said, "You're right. You are one of the strongest I know, so I'm sure you'll always be okay, and the Pokémon you left for me will also protect me well." Liam nodded his head as he said, "I have to get a Pokémon for little Beth too, one that she can grow up with."

Sheila got excited as she said, "That is a great idea. I think you should use a Pokémon egg, preferably. That way, when it hatches, Beth will be the first one he or she sees, and they can grow up together, but would you like her to be a Pokémon trainer too, just like you?" Liam nodded his head as he said, "Yes, I would, and I believe she would be one of the best trainers. There is something special about Beth," he said. Especially after he saw the glowing lights on her when he touched her the first time.

"Okay, let me get some sleep. I have a battle coming up in a few hours, and I believe the Challenger is pretty good. Also, I heard…" He was cut off as Sheila said, "Okay, honey, get some rest and make sure you win it all. Do not settle for second place."

Liam laughed a little before he tackled Sheila as they went for another round before, they all passed out.
