Love is a Sweet Poison

Amelia looked up and smiled, "with the care I received, I am feeling a lot better. Gabriel and his family are doing everything they can to accommodate me. Thank you for your concern." 

Gabriel bowed, "Since Nathaniel has all my assignments I will go and get them from him." He guided Amelia out of the room and walkers to the Student Council room. He unlocked the door and inside was Nathaniel resting on the table. Gabriel walked up to the desk and slammed the paper stack in his arms on the table right next to Nathaniel's head. 

"What!?" He jumped up and the chair he was sitting in fell to the ground. He looked at the girl that was giggling at the door confused. "How can I help you? If you are looking for Gabriel he is not in today." 

"I do believe that she is well aware of the fact that I am not in the office today. Nathaniel." Gabriel stood beside Nathaniel as he glanced up at him from her.

"Do you know how many females come here looking for you? So many want an omiai with you and it is ridiculous. When I tell them that you are not available they call me a liar. So what can I do for you?" Nathaniel was looking at Gabriel, ignoring the girl that was dressed up nicely.

"I do not care for other girls. This is Amelia, the girl that I fell in love with. I finally followed your advice and chatted with her. We are mutually in love. I want you to let her come here if she is feeling a little unwell." Gabriel held out his hand to her. 

Amelia walked closer and placed her hand in his. "This is a lovely room but what do you mean by me stopping here if I am feeling unwell?" 

"You can sleep here in the bedroom that is beyond that door. I will pass that office to you. You can run the student council and right not I can accept you as my treasurer. Nathaniel does everything else and will be able to show you the files for your job on Monday. I usually have to stay late so you and I will go home together." Gabriel handed her a key for the office. 

"Thank you," Amelia took the key and placed it in the kinchaku pouch. "Nathaniel, I am looking forward to working with you." 

Nathaniel watched the exchange and that was when it finally dawned on him. "You finally talked to the girl and the beauty in front of me is her? Congratulations to the both of you. I will come over on Sunday to celebrate." He pulled out a stack of papers and placed them down. "This is why you are here." 

"Thank you, I will take this and see you on Sunday. We have a few more things that we need to do today. Have a good day of classes." Gabriel placed his stack on hers and carried them out of the room.

"It was a pleasure to meet you. Chat again soon." She bowed towards him and then left the room. She skipped down the hallway and followed Gabriel back out to the carriage. He let her get in first then followed her in.

Amelia smiled and looked at the hospital. "This is one of the first times that I have come to the hospital and not needed to see a doctor. It is very unusual for me to show up here otherwise." 

Subaru looked at the big buildings and walked up the steps looking at the building in awe. "I knew that it was a big hospital but wow."   

Gabriel leads Amelia up the steps and makes sure that she is doing okay. About halfway up the stairs, he scoops her up and walks up the rest of the stairs carrying her. "Sorry, but I cannot allow you to struggle on your own." He lets her down and looks at Subaru, "Yes, well… this is my workplace so I am used to it. I guess for you this would be unheard of." 

"Yes, I am very shocked. Although, I know that you worked at a hospital. Thank you for teaching a small medicine man like myself." Subaru bowed to Gabriel.

"Don't thank me yet. You are going to be cursing me soon enough." Gabriel held the door open and closed it once they were all in and he leads them to the gift shop.

Aki jumps up and walks straight to Gabriel. "What is going on? Kazuki suddenly showed up with Sensei this morning and there has been nothing but gossip that you will not be taking over anymore." 

"That is because I never wanted to take over everything and that was always supposed to be Kazuki's job. I will continue to make medicines. Aki, this is Subaru. He is an apprentice that I picked up when I was herb hunting. He is a medicine man that wishes to increase his speed. "Is there anything that we are out of?" Gabriel introduces the two. 

"Well, then this will all work out. Fujiwara san is in there sorting out the medicines for the day. Maybe you can lend a hand real quick. I'm low on sleeping aids the most." Aki bowed to Subaru and Amelia. 

"It is good to see you again, Aki. Thank you for everything. My father shall be joining you here tomorrow after we finish what needs to be done." Amelia bowed back.
