Love, Jerk, and Affair

It's been two days for Evan to be treated, Mark hasn't given any news yet and his number still can't be reached. As long as the toddler was cared for, only Adriana and Dave looked after him. Margareth and Byanca didn't even visit. it made Adriana even sadder and hurt because Evan was just an innocent and ignorant child who was just ignored.

Sometimes, Zach still comes to visit Evan even if it's only for a while even though Adriana forbids him. the young mother could not avoid her always caring attitude, because she needed support. Because Mark as a husband even went somewhere.

Adriana was suspicious of Mark. because usually when out of town, her husband will notify her even if only a few times. but this time, the man didn't give any news at all, even his cellphone seemed to be switched off on purpose.

Adriana tried to cover up her suspicions and focused more on taking care of Evan who was sick. the boy was no longer looking for his father because Dave and Zach saw him often, making him feel more cared for.

"Find out where he is, there must be news today or I'll fire you!" exclaimed Dave on the phone with a tone of emphasis and gleaming eyes filled with rage. He was sure his brother wasn't out of town and might be having fun with another woman.

Dave tries to find Mark's whereabouts by ordering someone he trusts. He was annoyed at his brother because he had lied to Adriana too much. The young man also hated his mother and sister who didn't care about Evan.

In the afternoon after work, Dave decided to go home to reprimand his mother and sister, because they felt bad for Adriana for their behavior that did not show concern for Evan.

when he arrived home, Dave walked into the living room and saw his mother and younger sister sitting casually reading while a magazine on the sofa.

"You guys didn't have a heart!" said Dave in a high tone. He still stood staring at the hatred of two women who were important in his life.

"You just came. Why are you getting angry not clearly? What's wrong, Dave, are you drunk?" Margareth asked in surprise

"Evan was sick, he was being treated and you guys didn't visit him at all," Dave replied with a sharp gaze. "You guys are...!"

"What's the problem? isn't there Adriana who takes care of him?

Dave, who was annoyed because his sister did not appreciate it and instead acted indifferent, immediately grabbed the magazine and threw it away in any direction.

"Why the hell?" Asked Byanca who looked angry, she immediately stood up staring at her brother.

"Why are you fighting just because of that cheap woman, stop it now!" Margaret snapped.

"She's not a cheap woman! Why can you be this quiet?" asked Dave in a high voice. he was disgusted by the attitude of his mother who continued to think of Adriana as a cheap woman.

Margareth smiled sarcastically at the second son and instead asked, "what would it be called if not a cheap woman? she surrendered herself to your brother, then framed her pregnant so she could marry and live comfortably here, do you still want to defend her? "

"He's not like that, it was Mark who had ruined her future by seducing and getting her pregnant, married her, and brought her here while Mom was not nice. She also couldn't continue her education because of Mark. She is a victim and you shouldn't hate Evan!" Dave still insists on defending Adriana. Apart from being based on compassion and truth, he defended her because he loved her.

"Still she's in the wrong! Why do you always defend her, even now you dare to yell at mommy?" asked Margareth with her sharp eyes.

"Because he also likes Adriana, Mom," said Byanca who also cornered Dave.

"Is it true what your sister said?" asked Margareth with an angry look at Dave. Of course, she was angry, because the daughter-in-law he hated was liked by his second son as well.

Dave just silent glanced at Byanca, he was disgusted by the mouth of his little sister's like a stove. The young man chose to leave rather than answer his mother's question, which was true.

Dave drove his car at high speed towards the hospital. he paused thinking about his mother's question because he didn't understand his feelings either.

His smartphone which is located on the dashboard vibrates, Dave immediately checks it and sees an incoming call from Frank, his confidant.

"Hello, Frank. What's wrong?" asked Dave.

"I already know where Mark is," answered Frank from the telephone.

"Send the address, I'll be there!" exclaimed Dave, then immediately hung up the phone.

"I'm going to drag you home tonight, Mark!" murmured Dave as he continued to drive the car.

At the hospital, Adriana is feeding Evan a menu of soup bought by Zach. The man came suddenly and he could not afford to throw him away because his stubbornness could not be defeated easily.

"He likes it, right?" Zach asked as he watched Evan eat the soup voraciously.

"She likes soup, kids usually do like soup," said Adriana without turning her head, because she was still focused on feeding her child.

Zach nodded in understanding then asked again, "why hasn't your husband come yet, didn't you call him?"

"No," replied Adriana. "I do not want to worry him, maybe tomorrow he will be home," she continued.

Zach nodded in understanding, then looked back at Evan, who looked better and had no more fever.

"it seems like he's getting better," muttered Zach

"Yes, we can go home tomorrow," said Adriana

"Oh, That's good."

"You better go home, it's already late," said Adriana.

"Hey ... it's still seven o'clock," said Zach, looking at his watch.

Adriana exhaled roughly then looked at Zach's annoyance who was hard to get rid of. "But since the afternoon you are here. I don't want Dave or anyone else to misunderstand."

"By the way, Your brother-in-law seems to like you," Zach said casually. He felt that Dave was paying too much attention to being a brother-in-law.

"Nonsense." Adriana smiled sarcastically at Zach, then looked away. She returned to feed Evan, who focused on eating while playing with the toy car that the man had bought

"Hem ...." Zach sighed as he brushed his hair and then looked away from Adriana. "If you weren't Jack's ex-girlfriend, I might have married you," she muttered softly.

"Why talk about this? I'm already married. if you always had the intention to be with me, I wouldn't be stuck with Mark. Go, because after finishing eating, I'll immediately lay Evan to sleep!" said Adriana curtly.
