Loved By The Villain And The Male Lead

"Well aren't you looking especially chipper this morning," Minshi commented, looking at her friend up and down. Su Ning was wearing a light blue floral ruched off shoulder mini dress and her face was accentuated beautifully with light makeup. The dress ended a few inches above her knees and highlighted her straight white legs.

"He he. Am I? My friend is here for a visit," Su Ning asked, giggling. "I'm thinking of taking him out to some tourist spots after class," she continued.

A few seconds later Su Ning scrunched up her face and commented,  "Hold on. How come you're sounding so British."

"You only noticed now? SMH," Minshi said, rolling her eyes. "By the way, is your friend cute?"

Su Ning thought for a bit before responding hesitantly, "Uhm… yes he is good looking."

'Ah.. what is this? My chest feels a little bit stuffy.'

However Su Ning's response had Minshi thoroughly interested. "Oho! Is he single?" she asked with bright eyes.

"Uhh yes but.. he's from Cambridge. He's only here for a week," Su Ning explained, attempting to dissuade her friend.

Yet her explanation only served to heighten Minshi's interest. "I'm open to casual relationships," her friend indicated with a wide grin.

"…" Su Ning didn't respond. For some reason, she didn't like the thought of Minshi getting together with Gu YuChen even though she liked them both as friends. Her brows furrowed as she thought of what to say to her new friend.

"Those ones are the best. The s*x is more intense," Minshi chattered on, oblivious to Su Ning's worries. When Minshi glanced up at her friend, who had a shocked look on her face.

"…" 'What is this girl going on about?! How can I introduce my YuChen-ge to you?! You will eat him alive!?' she thought to herself.

Minshi giggled. "What is it? TMI?" she asked.

Author's Note: TMI means too much information. ┌( ಠ‿ಠ)┘

"Uhh yeah…" Su Ning muttered instead.

Minshi let out a sigh. "I nearly forgot, our little Karina is so innocent. She hasn't even had her first kiss," she said, pinching Su Ning's cheeks. The latter swatted Minshi's hand and rubbed her cheeks that had turned pink. 

"Alright! I'll keep our conversation PG," Minshi decided magnanimously.

"Er… thank you?" Su Ning answered with a perplexed look on her face.

"Pua ha ha ha! So are you going to introduce me to your friend?" Minshi laughed at Su Ning's funny expression.

"Uhhh…" Su Ning uttered. Somehow Su Ning was uncomfortable to even let the two meet but she couldn't come up with a reasonable excuse to decline her friend's request.

"Introduce me!" Minshi insisted.

Instead she tried a different way to tamp down Minshi's eagerness. "Gu YuChen already had someone he likes," Su Ning said carefully.

Unfortunately, Su Ning's comment didn't elicit the desired response and Minshi was even more gungho to meet Gu YuChen.

"Perfect!" Minshi exclaimed, taking Su Ning by surprise.

"It would be no strings attached!" Minshi exclaimed seeing her friend's uncomprehending face.

Author's Note: A no strings attached relationship is a relationship whereby two people  have a purely physical relationship. There's no emotional connection between them. (づ｡◕‿‿◕｡)づ

Su Ning had learned this term recently and being raised in C Country she was of a different mind than her peers who were raised in western countries. She felt it was okay to date a few boys before settling down but she was not keen on having flings or one night stands. So Minshi's words were extremely worrying for Su Ning. Minshi was also an outgoing and attractive young lady so Su Ning was anxious that Gu YuChen might become interested in her. 'But  I really  don't want Gu YuChen to be taken advantage of, lah! Minshi sounds like she will devour him,' Su Ning pondered restlessly. In her mind, Gu YuChen was a pure and innocent young man who was unable to approach girls since he has been in an unrequited love for the past 6 years.

"Uhm…" Su Ning muttered, stalling for time.

"What is it?" Minshi asked earnestly.

'Hold on… Maybe I can make this work. Minshi is only requesting an introduction. They don't have to date afterwards. I can just warn Gu YuChen to stay away from her. I am sure he will listen to me,' Su Ning thought optimistically.

"Mmm. I can. When are you free?" Su Ning finally responded.

"Today!" Minshi cried out excitedly.

"Huh? Don't you have night classes?" Su Ning asked with knitted brows.

"Oh Shit! You're right! I got lab too so I can't skip that. Okay let's do tomorrow!" Minshi decided.

'Great that gives me more time to explain things to Gu YuChen,' Su Ning thought with a discreet smile. 'They absolutely cannot get together.'

"Alright, we can have lunch together," Su Ning answered after a long pause.

"Awesome!" Minshi noted before turning her attention to the profession who had just entered class.

After her morning classes, Su Ning decided to stop by the food tasting club's office and chat with her friends before she headed off to her final class of the day. Their clubroom was small and had minimal furnishing since they were a relatively new and unpopular club. However, Su Ning really enjoyed all the activities they had done so far and felt that she had made the right decision joining in her first year. Since most of their group activities were outdoors in restaurants or having potluck in the park, the members mostly used the room to relax in between their classes. And Su Ning, who had made it a habit to pop in during her breaks, really liked being able to catch up with the other members in this manner. Oftentimes, they would decide to go out to grab a snack or have lunch in the school cafeteria which Su Ning greatly appreciated since she quite disliked eating alone. 

That afternoon, Allen was alone in the club room playing with his phone. He had a huge gap in between classes and was laying on the couch to pass the time. Thoroughly engrossed in his game, Allen didn't notice that Su Ning had made her way in front of the couch. 

"Hi Allen!" the pretty girl greeted him.

Su Ning's voice evidently caught Allen off guard causing the man to jerk up from the couch and drop his phone. The man must have accidentally pressed something in the process because a song suddenly began to play out loud. It was Su Ning's song. More specifically, it was the song she had sung during the time she participated in Chang Yue's annual singing competition, Xin Dong (Tempting Heart) by Lin Xiao Pei.

Su Ning's eyes met Allen's widened ones. He looked like a deer caught in the headlights. 

Su Ning bent over to pick up her friend's phone. Turning it over, she saw the live video of her taken at the event.

"Allen...How come you are listening to this?" Su Ning asked curiously.

"Oh...uh.. Uhm.. That is… the thing is…" Allen stuttered.

"Yes?" she prodded gently.

"Well...I saw the new skin at Star's World and you were singing there so…"

"Soo??" she asked, not really understanding the man's hesitation.

Allen coughed to hide his embarrassment before answering, "So I wanted to see if it was really your voice."

"Ah.." Su Ning said, nodding. 

"And so, I saw your performance in the Little Mermaid musical and uhmm… I really liked your voice so I began to look for other songs of yours," Allen admitted blushing. In fact, he had already downloaded several songs Su Ning sung in the musical in addition to 'mei ren yu' and he was actually in the process of looking for more. Allen was ecstatic to find the song 'tempting heart' which the girl had sung when she was merely 12 years old. Even back then, Su Ning already had the voice of an angel. Allen was completely smitten and he didn't even understand the language Su Ning was singing in.

"Oh," Su Ning answered feeling somewhat abashed. It was her first time meeting a fan that wasn't Lin JinYan and Gu YuChen. "Thank you," she said softly.

"Do you perhaps have songs in English?" Allen asked her.

"Mmm. I have some demos I recorded in English," she answered.

"Is it available for download by the public?" the man eagerly asked, causing Su Ning to laugh.

"Pfft. Let me ask and get back to you alright?" Su Ning said before taking a seat on the couch.

"Great!" Allen nodded. Turning to look at the girl who sat beside him, Allen suddenly recalled what he had seen the previous afternoon and his face unconsciously turned into a frown. After a moment's deliberation, he bit the bullet. 

"Hey Karina, can I ask you a question?"
