Loved By The Villain And The Male Lead

"Hi YuChen-ge! I'm so glad to finally meet you. You look even better in person."

Minshi eagerly introduced herself to the tall handsome man in front of her. 'Holy shit! Karina said her friend was good looking but seeing him in person completely blows my expectations! This appearance is otherworldly! He looks like a model! And he's hella tall! I bet he's over 6 ft. Wide shoulders and a firm body. He definitely works out, totally my type!' she thought excitedly as she eyed the man up and down.

"It's a pleasure to meet you. Karina often spoke about you," Gu YuChen replied with a gentlemanly smile.

'F*ck! His British accent sounds so sexy!' (Minshi)

"Oh all good stuff I hope!" Minshi commented coyly. 

"Of course. Shall we go? My car is in the garage behind the building," said Gu YuChen as he gestured forward to the two girls.

"Sounds good!" Minshi quipped happily.

"Did you have anything you'd like to eat?" Gu YuChen asked Su Ning's considerately.

"Oh, I can eat anything," Minshi said with a bashful smile.

This comment utterly confused Su Ning. 'Huh? What is Minshi talking about? Wasn't she a self proclaimed picky eater?'

"Wait..Minshi I thought—" Su Ning began only to be stopped by a sharp jab to her lower rib.

"Aiyah teng!" Su Ning cried out, causing the man who walked a step ahead of her to turn back in worry. 

"NingNing, Zen me le? Na li bu shu fu?" Gu YuChen promptly asked.

Author's Note: Teng means Ouch/ Hurts. 

Zen me le? Na li bu shu fu? Means What happened? Where does it hurt? (◍•ᴗ•◍)♡ ✧*.

"Oh..I'm," Su Ning started to explain but was quickly interrupted by her friend.

"Hahahah be careful over there Kari. The floor is uneven, you might trip," Minshi said laughingly, hooking her arm with Su Ning's.

"…" Su Ning gave Minshi a flabbergasted look. 'Woah, this girl's personality changed 100% ah! Young Master Gu's effect on normal people is so unbelievable,' thought Su Ning as she recalled how the group of girls surrounded the young man at the mall.

"NingNing?" Gu YuChen prodded.

"Ah! Yes, I'm fine. I just lost my balance a bit,' she said while giving Minshi a pointed glance.

"Would you like to hold on to my arm," Gu YuChen offered.

Before Su Ning could answer, Minshi interrupted, "No need! No need! Kari's got me. So lead the way, YuChen-ge!"

"Psst Kari! You sure YuChen-ge doesn't have a girlfriend?" Minshi whispered.

"Yeah. But, he has someone he likes though," Su Ning explained.

"Oh that's fine. As long as they're not together, it's still fair game," Minshi proudly proclaimed and Su Ning gave her a perplexed look.

'Wow. Minshi is really..confident,' thought Su Ning.

'Oh hold on, we haven't decided on the food place yet,' she realized. So she called out in her melodic voice, "YuChen-ge, where are we eating?"

"Hmm... Since it's the first time meeting Karina's friend, should we go to Hajime?" Gu YuChen asked both girls.

Minshi was the first to react. "Oh my, are you sure?" Minshi asked with a startled expression on her face. Hajime is a 2 star Michelin restaurant and the standard tasting menu for one person costs as much as $450. If one includes wine pairing, it would cost an additional $250 per person. 

"Of course, it's our first lunch together so I'd like to make a good impression," GunYuChen responded as he opened the door to the back seat of the Mercedes G Class for Su Ning's friend.

'Good looking, rich, and a gentleman! Jackpot' Minshi celebrated internally as she looked at the man's vehicle in appreciation.

"Thank you, YuChen-ge," Minshi told the man shyly before getting into the back seat.

'Tch. Why is Gu YuChen acting like Lin JinYan? It was always Lin JinYan who was chivalrous,' Su Ning thought with a click of her tongue. Su Ning let herself into the passenger side of the front seat, not waiting for Gu YuChen to help her. 

During the ride to the restaurant, Minshi was actively chatting with Gu YuChen asking him about his family, school life, and future career plans. It was obvious that the girl was very interested in the man. Gu YuChen answered the girl's questions politely albeit vaguely, mollifying Su Ning's previous misgivings somewhat.

'They had just met several minutes ago, if they suddenly become all chummy in that short span of time, I'll really be annoyed,' Su Ning huffed beside the man. She had to admit she felt unhappy having to share Gu YuChen's attention. She had gotten so used to being his special person that she had nearly forgotten that Gu YuChen was a man who was in a 6 year unrequited love with an unknown woman. 

"Wow YuChen-ge, you are studying law in Cambridge?! You must be hella smart!" Minshi commented, admiration evident in her tone.

"I'm alright," the man deflected in an even voice. He was never one to arrogantly flaunt his talents and achievements.

"You're so modest," Minshi noted with a huge grin on her face. "So how did you and Karina meet?" she asked.

"We're childhood friends from C Country," Gu YuChen answered succinctly.

However, the conversation took a sudden awkward turn when Minshi exclaimed, "Woah does that mean Karina's family is loaded too?" 

'Hmm Karina does wear a lot of good quality clothing and stays in a nice apartment. I can totally see her as a Young Miss.'

To Minshi's surprise, Su Ning responded otherwise.

"Not at all. My parents work for YuChen-ge's family," the young girl said calmly.

"Oh, that's surprising! I would've never expected that!" Minshi cried out. "That's awesome both your families are okay with that," she continued

"Hmm?" Gu YuChen murmured, his eyes still on the road.

"Well I just got these from C-dramas I would watch but usually aren't families in High Society you know very picky with the people they associate with. Like the rich only hang out with the rich and all. I mean Karina is very nice though don't get me wrong. Just surprised your friendship managed to overcome that," Minshi explained looking at the two on the front seat.

"I've been lucky. I never experienced any discrimation from YuChen-ge's family," Su Ning answered with a soft smile.

At the same time, Gu YuChen turned to catch Su Ning's gaze as he said, "Grandma Gu considers NingNing as her own granddaughter." The two shared an affectionate smile.

"Ohh…" Minshi nodded in understanding. 'Man I'm a little envious. They're that close huh? Hmm, now it kind of makes sense why Karina was so hesitant to introduce us. YuChen-ge is such a catch!' All of a sudden, Minshi seemed to recall something, "Wait.. Gu? Your last name is Gu? That Gu!? Gu Corp Ltd!? The conglomerate?"

'Shoot! Does this mean my plans of hooking up are all going down the drain?' Minshi wondered.

"Minshi….your voice is a little loud," Su Ning commented with an awkward expression on her face. 'Has Minshi always been this excitable?' Su Ning wondered.

"Oh sorry. I was too shocked. I didn't know we got a chaebol with us!" Minshi cried out once more before turning to Gu YuChen.

"YuChen-ge, should I call you Young Master Gu?"

"Just call me like you usually do," the young man said nonchalantly. 

"Great! I will. So.. since you're a chaebol and all… do you have to have an arranged marriage?" Minshi asked interestedly.

"Minshi…" Su Ning softly warned. 'Aiyah! This kid! You've barely known Gu YuChen for an hour and you're already asking these personal questions! Is this what people in America are like?'

"What? I'm just curious. I don't mean anything bad by it. Right, YuChen-ge?" Minshi quickly retorted.

"I have no intention of doing an arranged marriage," Gu YuChen quietly responded.

"Really?" "Nice!" Su Ning and Minshi exclaimed simultaneously. 

'Excellent! He's not going to have an arranged marriage!' Minshi made a fist pump before noticing something was off.

"Mhmm," Gu YuChen nodded.

"Wait, how come you are surprised?" Minshi asked her friend. "Since you two are childhood friends shouldn't you know about this?"

"Well, I always assumed YuChen-ge will have an arranged marriage," Su Ning said embarrassedly. 'Gu YuChen is of a different world after all.'

To her surprise, the man who sat beside her repeated vehemently, "I won't. I won't ever do that."

"Oh…" Su Ning uttered, taken aback by Gu YuChen's seriousness.
