[Allen]: Hey Karina!

[Allen]: Thanks for introducing me to Chris!

[Allen]: He's a great guy!

[Allen]: He even offered me an internship at Sun Fox.

[NingNing_Star]: Woah. That's amazing.

'Turns out Gu YuChen liked his 'xiao fensi' Su Ning thought with a soft chuckle. She was glad that she introduced the two. She wanted Gu YuChen to realize the effect he had on people. Su Ning wanted her good friend to know that his creations both inspire and make people happy. 

Author's Note: Xiao Fensi means Little Fan. 

[Allen]: Karina, are you free next Saturday?

[NingNing_Star]: Hmmmm I think so. What's up?

[Allen]: Uhm do you want to go visit the Instant Ramen Museum with me?

[NingNing_Star]: The Cup Noodles Museum? Why so suddenly?

[Allen]: Oh! I happened to get an extra ticket. I thought you'd be interested to check it out.

Frankly speaking, Su Ning had been wanting to visit the Ramen Museum with Gu YuChen. However, she had been so busy with school work the past few days that they didn't get the chance to do so. 'Hmm I guess I can go check it out with Allen first. If it's any good, I'll take YuChen-ge and JinYan-ge next time,' she decided.

[Allen]: Have you ever been?

[NingNing_Star]: Not yet. I want to see it though. Let's go. 

[Allen]: Great! (≧◡≦)

......…

Su Ning woke up early the next day and was no longer surprised to see Gu YuChen already up and about. He had already ordered room service for them and was waiting for Su Ning to have breakfast together. Afterwards, the pair checked out of the Four Seasons Hotel and stopped by Fushimi Inari Shrine, Kinkakuji Temple, and the bamboo forest before heading back to Osaka. Su Ning thoroughly enjoyed playing tourist with Gu YuChen and was sad to see the day end so soon.

Just like that, the weekend was over in a flash and it was finally time for Gu YuChen to return to the UK. That Sunday night, Su Ning bade a tearful goodbye to Gu YuChen. They were only together for a week this time around but she was having a harder time separating from these kids as time went by. Per usual, Su Ning was in a dismal mood for several days immediately after Gu YuChen's departure.

So as was her habit, Su Ning occupied her time with her studies and spending time with her friends. Since she went to the Instant Ramen Museum with Allen, Su Ning realized that she quite enjoyed hanging out with him. Allen is funny, easygoing and comfortable to be around with. She felt at ease speaking with Allen in English as well. He didn't make fun of her whenever she made mistakes and instead patiently tried to correct her pronunciation and grammar. Now, Su Ning could honestly say that after a year of constantly using English to communicate both in class and with Lin JinYan aka Drill Sergeant Lin, she's become more confident in speaking the language. Plus, Allen and Su Ning both shared a love for food and mobile games. The two were able to chat and play for hours at a time. Naturally, the two found themselves hanging out more often outside of class.

Su Ning and Allen were like two peas in a pod that even Minshi commented about their apparent closeness. 

"Ei, you and Allen have been hanging out alot," Minshi casually mentioned. 

The two girls were in a library focus room studying for winter term finals. Su Ning had been in Japan for nearly a year. In a few weeks, it will be time for spring vacation. Su Ning will be flying back to C Country to visit her parents. In Minshi fashion, she self-invited herself to Su Ning's place. Even though Minshi's parents were from C Country, she had never visited the country and was really excited to have a native speaker as a guide. 

"Have you done gone replaced me as your bff?" Minshi demanded with an accusatory tone. The athletic girl was back to her outgoing self after wallowing in misery for the past several months. It seems she was finally over Gu YuChen.

'Done gone? Sometimes Minshi talks so weird. Is this how Americans normally speak?'  wondered Su Ning. "I haven't done gone replaced you as my bff," Su Ning reiterated purposefully copying Minshi's speaking style. 

"What do you guys do when you hang out anyways?" Minshi asked.

"Mmm.. Just normal stuff. We eat, play games, and do homework. You've been hanging out alot with Cody recently too," Su Ning pointed out. 

** cough cough cough ** "Oh that… he kept asking me to hang out so I just did him a favor," Minshi said defensively. 

"Hnng…" Su Ning made a soft skeptical sound. 

"There's nothing else to it. We're just friends," Minshi insisted. "Cody's not my type at all. I prefer someone handsome, smart, and rich like YuChen-ge!"

"I see," Su Ning said with a knowing smile. In fact, Allen had already sworn her to secrecy before telling Su Ning that Minshi and Cody are currently in a 'some' relationship. Apparently, the latter had been assiduously pursuing Minshi since the food tasting club's Kyoto day trip. Cody would wait for Minshi after class and offer to eat lunch together. He would bring her her favorite drinks and snacks and watch all her wrestling club matches. Even though Minshi was very irritable and short tempered towards Cody, the man didn't mind at all. He was completely smitten by this strong and independent woman. 

"Don't I see me," Minshi began before getting interrupted by a phone call from Cody. "Ahem, excuse me I need to get this," she said as an affectionate smile bloomed on her face.

"Oh, you can take your call here ah," Su Ning said with a sly grin. She saw Minshi's cheeks redden. 

** cough cough ** "I'd rather take this outside. I don't want to disturb your studies," Minshi said before hastily exiting the focus room.

"I'm really okay though. I don't get distracted easily," Su Ning called out but Minshi had already left. 

Su Ning let out a chuckle. It seems spring is in the air for her friend Minshi. Looks like time really heals all wounds. 'I'm glad Minshi is happy now,' thought Su Ning. She recalled the weeks after Gu YuChen left were particularly tough for Minshi. Her friend basically cried everyday and had no motivation to do anything. Her grades for her major courses also took a deep dive. But suddenly one day, she was back to her old self. 'Who would have thought we would have Cody to thank for this. I wonder if YuChen-ge has also gotten over that girl. He hasn't mentioned her in any of our calls since then. I need to make sure to ask him next time we talk.' 

The two ended up staying in the library until dinner time. When Su Ning asked Minshi if she'd like to have supper together, the girl evasively said that she already had an appointment; however, Minshi wouldn't say with whom. 'Curious. Very Curious,' thought Su Ning with a discreet smile. Today Minshi was also dressed especially nice; the girl wore a pair of skinny jeans, knee high boots and a black long sleeved turtle neck shirt. Minshi also had on a full face of makeup which was quite unusual for the sporty girl. 'Looks like someone has a date.'

So instead, Su Ning texted Allen asking whether he had eaten and the man immediately responded.

[Allen]: Not yet! Perfect timing!

[Allen]: Want to grab a meal together?

[NingNing_Star]: Haha I was just about to ask.

[Allen]: Let's have Chinese food today. I'm craving hotpot.

[NingNing_Star]:  Ho! Looks like I've trained you well.

[Allen]: LMFAO

[Allen]: Are you at the library?

[NingNing_Star]: Yep.

[Allen]: I'm walking over. Meet you out front?

[NingNing_Star]: Sure.

[Allen]: Alright, be there in 5.

Allen was a bundle of nerves. After getting to know Su Ning for the past year, he was quite certain that he truly liked and wanted to pursue the girl. He didn't immediately confess to Su Ning after speaking with Gu YuChen since he wanted to make sure that what he felt was more than just a passing fancy and due to her likeness to Star. Moreover, he would have felt guilty if he had taken Gu YuChen's offer for an internship only to break up with Su Ning shortly after. Now that was no longer the case. He's sure of his heart. And today when they finally meet for dinner, he intended to confess to her.
