To show that he is really serious, Kence even made the first move and channeled mana on his wand. A70 is also at the peak of Magic Apprentice, the same as Kence and their power should be close to each other

"[Ice Magic: Frost Birds!]" Kence pointed his wand towards Number A70 and three birds made from ice, formed in front of him

The ice birds then went on different directions. The one at the middle charged ahead while the other two went to A70's sides

The poor mage was suddenly facing attack on three directions. With just this, one can see how talented Kence is. He's still just a Magic Apprentice yet he can control his spell this skillfully, even to the point of using them to attack in three directions

However, unlike Kence, most of Calter's slaves from Magic Apprentices to Grand Knights have ample fighting experiences 

Kence might be training inside the Dungeon but he never fought with his life on the line before

"[Water Magic: Aqua Blessing!]" Number A70 pointed his wand at himself and a watery blue aura covered his body. The mage used the speed provided by his spell to dodge

In terms of speed, spells of wind, lightning, and light are the ones that can give the best result, but it doesn't mean that the other elements can't improve the mage's speed. It's just that, using magic like those three will give the most boost

Number A70 is not a dark type mage causing his value to lessen. The Number 1 priority on Calter's force were the dark type mage followed by the fire type ones

Of course, Calter still foster other type of mages but he can't give them a Grand Knight tutor

The mage dodged by using the boost in speed of his spell and Kence's attacks only hit an empty air. Kence immediately made another group of three birds to attack but Number A70 still dodged them

As Number A70 is not heaven defying like Kence and Calter that can use one spell after another, he needs to buy himself some time before using another one

"[Water Magic: Water Snakes!]" From A70's wand, came out five snakes made from water. Since the poor slave can't hold back because of Emily, he can only go all out.

The snakes opened their mouth and their figures cut the air to give Kence a good bite

Although inexperienced, Kence is still a talent and can adapt in the situation quickly

"[Ice Magic: Ice Barrier!]" Kence activated his spell and a bit more than a meter-tall wall of ice formed in front of him. Its defensive power was only enough to defend from the water snakes

As soon as the snakes slammed on the ice barrier, cracks appeared on it but in the process, the snakes were deformed and turned into puddles of normal water

Number A70 circled around Kence and attacked from another angle. But the youth's spell casting talent is really great, even after just forming his spell, Kence managed to use another one

"[Ice Magic: Ice Beam!]" As soon as A70 saw this, he immediately uses a spell to defend himself. "[Water Magic: Water Shield!]"

The ice hit the water and immediately froze it, but in return, the ice beam also used up all of its power. Kence's blood started pumping as this is the fight he really wants!

Only a fight like this is enough to make him stronger! Kence's blood boiled from excitement as he finally had a chance to go all out. However, his emotions gave his opponent a chance to counterattack

Letting your emotions affect you in a battle is very fatal!

"[Water Magic: Water Snakes!]" Number A70 made another group of five water snakes and they flew in the air to attack

Kence was taken aback by this and hastily made another Ice Barrier to protect himself. It barely protected him from A70, but he still sighs in relief as he wasn't defeated that fast

However, that is yet another mistake from his lack of experience. It gave Number A70 a few seconds that he needed to form another spell

"[Water Magic: Water Tentacles!]" Kence waited to see A70's spell to come to him but it didn't come exactly as he expected

Number A70 pointed his wand below Kence and the water that came from the water snakes spell of before turned into water tentacles that wrapped on Kence's body and ended the fight

The slave heaved a sigh of relief and wiped the sweat on his forehead. He succeeded in winning the fight without hurting his master's lover!

It brought great relief on his heart as if he was pardon from death

Kence pouted while looking at the water tentacles wrapped on his body. His master can fight mages above his level, but he can't even defeat one at his level

This made Kence frustrated ... just why is he so weak?

As to not court death for himself, Number A70 waved his wand and the water tentacles on Kence returned back into normal water

"Sigh ... This is because Calter's too overprotective on Kence" Emily muttered to herself as she watches Kence's defeat

Kence is a talented mage but what he lacked the most is experienced! Magic Beasts especially those at the Rank 0 or have powers comparable to Magic Apprentices are too easy to read

Their attack patterns are simple. The only things that make most mages unable to kill a beast at their level is because of the difference in physique

Most Magic Beasts have a bigger and more durable body making it hard to kill them. But low leveled Magic Beasts aren't like humans

Humans have complete sentience and can plan tactics to win over their enemies. In a battle between mages, the ones that have more experience and the one that can use their spells more effectively are often the winner

"Don't be discouraged, Mother is here to help you!" Emily said as soon as she reached Kence's side and this alleviated Kence's depression a bit

"Please help me, Mother!" Kence said in an almost desperate tone

"Alright, let us sit down first. I'll teach you some tips" Emily said and pointed on the shade of a tree nearby. Kence nodded his head and they sat there and used the tree to shade them from the sunlight

As soon as the two sat down, Emily immediately started teaching Kence

"Did you know why Number A70 beats you? It was because of his experience and he also know how to effectively use his spells" Emily started and Kence gave all of his attention to her

"What you lack the most is experience but you'll eventually have that. In the meantime, as long as you don't have much experience yet, you must learn how to use your strength effectively"

"As you saw there, Number A70 uses all of his spells with purpose. He first used a spell to increase his speed so that he'll be able to dodge your attacks"

"To win like he had planned, Number A70 can't always block your spells. The more time that will pass, the higher the chance that you might move on your position"

"He uses a not so powerful yet also not too weak of spell so that you won't think that there is something wrong. Number A70 becomes resourceful and planned to make the water he will make to land close to you so that he'll be able to bind you with the water tentacles "

Hearing all of Emily's words, Kence realizes why it ended like that. His face turned even more serious as he listened intently to Emily

"Mages must be cautious on their surroundings. Different Elements can be used in different ways. You must be cautious on what kind of Magic your opponent can use and think if they will be able to use your surroundings, got it?" Emily asked and Kence nodded his head

Kence is currently like a dry and hungry sponge absorbing as much water as he can

"Now, the fastest way for you to improve your fighting skills is to do like what Number A7. You can make Ice shards or other weapons. Even if it didn't hit the enemy and hit an empty air, you can still use it in the right time "

Kence imagined himself making tens of ice shards only for his enemy to enter they range. Then, he'll be able to use those ice shards to defeat his enemy

"Aside from that, you must also move around in the battlefield. You can't just stand there and attack or defend"

Kence's face blushed a bit at realizing how inexperienced he is. In the Dungeon, his guards will hold his enemies on their place and will only unsealed one for him to defeat. That is why, he's not used at moving while fighting

The amazement on Kence's heart towards Emily continuously grew as every word from the woman are something that Kence doesn't realize before

"Mother, you are amazing!" Kence praised and Emily only chuckled at that but was happy inside her from receiving such a praise from the cute Kence. "Go, have another round with Number A70. It doesn't matter if you'll be defeated again as long as you had an improvement from the first round"

Hearing Emily's words, the unfortunate Number A70 can only cursed on his heart. Why is he so unlucky today? Sparring with Kence already put a strain on his mind. It was hard fighting Kence seriously while also not inflicting any harm on him

If he and Kence sparred for the second time, Number A70 cannot guarantee that he won't hurt Kence. This Emily is really a cruel demon just like her son

Kence nodded his head and digested all the words that Emily said, and his eyes were burning with fighting spirit as he walked towards the fighting stage again

"Please help me again Number A70, thank you!"

Number A70 can only cry inside him. Although Kence is too adorable but A70 still wants to live and he'll prefer it if he will just continue being a normal guard / slave

The two then started a fight again

"[Ice Magic: Ice Aura!]"

"[Water Magic: Aqua Blessing!]"

The two mages activated their speed boosting spells and their bodies glowed with blue color but have different shades

Kence's own have an icy blue color while A70 naturally have a water blue one

As Kence's spell casting ability is greater, he was the one that attacked first again. "[Ice Magic: Ice Needles!]" Kence shot more than ten ice needles towards A70 but the mage dodged it using his spell

As A70 knows what Kence is planning to do, he moved far away from where the ice needles landed. Kence clicked his tongue on it while feeling dissatisfied with himself. It seems like he's the only one that is careless on his own surrounding

"[Water Magic: Water Bubbles!]" Small bubbles of water formed around A70 and he used it to attack Kence

As he wants to win on this second round, Kence naturally won't let himself be attacked by those water bubbles

"[Ice Magic: Ice Needles!]" Kence used the same spells and used it to pop the bubbles while thinking that if he makes enough ice on the surrounding, there will come a time that he'll be able to use it against A70

However, Emily, seeing this only shook her head. There is one thing that she didn't said as she thought Kence will get it. But it seems like Kence was really inexperienced. It is easy for him to learn things as long as it was shown to him. But to the ones that aren't, it's hard for him to realize it by himself

The fight progressed as what Emily predicted.. Kence made more and more ice and let them spread on his surroundings. But against a water mage, that tactic of his is a wrong one!
