Magic With You

Chapter 16 - 16

"Hey, hey am I seeing an illusion?" The head chef, Rannie asked in disbelief. Everyone that encountered the Young Master Calter would feel some fear. He was unapproachable and cold to other people but now.... to see him wearing a pink apron like that... if this isn't illusion then what is this?

"I-I think I'm seeing an illusion too" the vice head chef, Lanna muttered, no chefs would believe that their Young Master would wear something like that

"Can someone slap me? This illusion is too...unrealistic"

Pak!

Rannie felt a stinging pain on his face as Lanna slapped him hard on the cheeks. One can even see a palm print on his face, this made the other chefs to giggle a bit

"Pain... pain.... this is real?" The head chef was still clinging to this scene being an illusion or dream but since he felt the pain then... this is real?

Rannie then glared hatefully at the vice chef "Do you need to slap me that hard woman?!" Lanna didn't answer and just giggle at him

However, the group of chefs peeping on the kitchen's door suddenly felt the temperature around them dropped as if a demon was staring menacingly at them. They saw their Young Master looking at them darkly causing bullets of sweat to formed on their bodies

They immediately run away from the scene, afraid that the demon would eat them

Calter snorted and went to chopped some onions and vegetables, with his skills the pieces were uniform and neat. This might be the case when he was preparing the ingredients but he doesn't know why he always messed up in the actual cooking

Just a few minutes after putting the ingredients on the pan the same thing that happened for the past week happened. Smokes once again filled the kitchen and the ingredients were burned

Calter gritted his teeth in anger, just why? He's extremely talented yet he can't even do some simple cooking! This is too unscientific!

"Hahahaha, Big Brother is that the most delicious food in the world?" Kence teased while looking at the food that turned into some black like thing that even dogs wouldn't eat

Calter's face turned red, just why does he need to boast before? This was simply courting one's own death

"Argh, I'm sorry. I want to cook you special meals but I can't" Calter said dejectedly. Cooking for the one you love was suppose to be a romantic and sweet thing but his cooking skills simply sucks!

His words warmed Kence's heart. "How about Big Brother will do the preparation and I will cook?" Since his master showed him great kindness then he naturally must do the same

Calter nodded his head as this was plausible. It's like the husband helping his wife to cook. But in this case its like husband was helping his 'husband' to cook

The Young Master then went to prepare all the things that Kence needs. Whether it be cutting vegetables, meats or making the sauce, all those fields were something he excelled at. But in the actual cooking he simple sucks and was just wasting ingredients. The cooking was left for Kence to do

After a bit more than thirty minutes when both of them were already extremely hungry their 'cooking date' finally ended. It were just simple dishes composed of vegetable, meat, and soup dish. After putting all the dishes in the kitchen counter the two removed their apron and Calter went to grab chairs

The kitchen was also turned into their date location and they decided to eat inside as they were really starving now. Calter used his spoon and fork to put some vegetables on Kence's plate. This made the latter to pout and looked at the vegetable in disgust

"You can't eat meat unless you eat vegetables" Kence's body was still the same as normal humans. Eating too much meat and not eating vegetables will harm his body. Calter of course wants his lover to be healthy

Kence doesn't have a choice but to pitifully nod his head while eating the vegetables reluctantly. The two ate in peace while occasionally chatting. As the two were always together they almost knew everything each other that's why Kence was always wondering why his master suddenly changed so much. It's not a bad change though as he felt that the new Calter was independent and strong

Kence was extremely honest and told Calter what he really think of him. This made Calter to be satisfied as Kence has a good impression on him. It was almost perfect but the Sternix Clan Patriarch graced his presence in the kitchen. This made Calter to be extremely annoyed as he was having a good time with Kence

"Son, from now on I'll help you train" Narry was an earth type Magician but as a Magic Knight his grasp on general magic knowledge was still much higher than Magic Apprentices. As his son was still weak, his teaching would still suffice. But in the future, Narry would surely find Calter a good Darkness Type Magician teacher

Calter frowned, in his past life he even achieved a higher cultivation base than his own father. How can Narry teach him anything?

"Father, I'm fine. I still didn't encounter a barrier in my cultivation" although Calter's treatment on his own father was not as cold as other people but it still didn't come to the point of how should a son treat their father

Narry sighed inside him as he made a big mistake before. He was dissatisfied with his son before as Calter was a trash. But now, in just a few weeks his son was already a Level 3 Magic Apprentice. As the Young Master of the Clan and the only one than can help Sternix retain its Nobility Title even the Patriarch needs to compromise to Calter

Narry thought that Calter didn't want him as a teacher as he was hurt by his father but the biggest reason was for Calter it was a huge waste of time. He can just train on his own and it would be much faster than when he was with his father

'If only I showered him with love and care before' Narry thought in regret. "Fine, but if you still didn't broke through after a month, I need to guide you" he already compromised on his son but if Calter's progress was too slow he can only force Calter to listen to his teachings

He can't let his son's stubbornness lead to their clan's demise. If that happened, he wouldn't be able to face his ancestors in death

Calter just nodded his head. What a joke, although being a Core Magician made it ten times harder to break through as he also needs to absorb ten times more mana than other people. His talent was still high and he doesn't need a month to become a Level 4 Magician

Normal people would only absorb mana causing their cultivation speed to be faster but learning a spell and becoming a Magic Warrior would be extremely hard for them

Those with talent not only will absorb mana to advance but their comprehension and grasp on magic theory needs to match up their level. They might be slower in cultivation but they can easily fight normal magician above their level

Calter on the other hand already has comprehension akin to a Rank 3 Magician, it was his cultivation base that doesn't match up to his Magical Knowledge. Hence, Magic Apprentice cultivation was extremely easy for him even if the difficulty rose to ten times

Narry exited the kitchen and went to continue working with the Clan's affairs

"Big Brother why did you not let the patriarch guide you? He's strong and can help you" Kence said in concern, he doesn't want his master to get hurt again. The last time it happened made him to worry a lot

"Don't worry about me, I have a way to be stronger okay?" Kence nodded his head. If the master said he has a way then he has. This was his trust to Calter

"You can rest first in our room, I'll go train" as Kence was always sleeping in Calter's room it became their room

Kence shook his head "I want to train first, I'm not tired" Calter can only smile bitterly at how hardworking Kence is. They already practiced back at the academy yet he still wants to train

"Then, let me walk you there. I need to go inside the special room" Kence nodded and the two went to their places

Kence was left in the open area where the two mostly trained while Calter went inside the special room. Just like when he entered it to become a Core Magician, he ordered the guards to go away

The guards didn't dare defy him and can only do what he ordered. Calter sat in the middle of the special room and a Dungeon Core appeared on his hand

He wants to go back inside the ruins where he got the inheritance on how to become a Core Magician but his strength was still not enough. It's not his priority though as aside from the manual there wasn't anything that worth a lot or something mysterious inside the ruins

He was already a Rank 3 Magician before but even he still didn't sensed anything special aside from the manual. Even the manual aside from not being destroyed with the passing of time doesn't have much use

Calter gritted his teeth and his mana covered the core while his willpower was ready to defend himself. He already experienced how painful it was to absorb a Dungeon Core to become a Core Magician . It's not surprising if absorbing another core would also be more painful

Calter's own mana neutralize the mana inside the Dungeon Core. Although the amount of mana inside the core was much denser than all of Calter's mana but these are free manas. No one owned them and there was no one to control it. With Calter's mana control the mana of the core wasn't able to harm him

The difficulty lies in the powerful will inside the core. The will clashed with his own and slammed on Calter's soul. The core containing Calter's soul can defend him from any soul attacks but in front of another core his own core just let the will pass it and attack his soul

According to the manual a Core Magician can absorb 1 Dungeon Core per level. He already absorbed one before and as he is a Level 3 Magician he can absorb two more. Of course, this is for normal people, some can exceed that by infinite number of times

As this was just the first one, Calter easily defended himself and his soul was strengthen a bit. Strengthening of the soul may not sound much but other Magicians would kill for a method to increase the power of their soul

Just why does many humans stuck at the peak of Magic Apprentice and not breaking through in the Magic Warrior Rank their whole lives? That is because of their weak soul!

To become a Magic Warrior there was a threshold on how much magical knowledge one has to have. With weaker soul their comprehension would be weaker. A human's soul can at most make one a peak Magic Apprentice but pass that they need to make their soul stronger

Strong Magic Knowledge and powerful soul was required to break through! Every manual to make one's soul stronger was hoarded by powerful clans and organizations and normal people has no hope to have one

They will kill to have a soul training manual but Calter was here that can strengthen his soul as long as he withstand the will inside the core

Defending himself from the willpower inside the Dungeon Core will damage his soul and the left over power of the willpower will be use to heal his soul and strengthen it in a process

Of course, he needs to have a sturdy willpower himself if not then his soul might be destroyed in the process. The path of Core Magician can only let him absorb one Dungeon Core per level if he wants to absorb more then he need to have a strong willpower and soul
