Magic With You

After some time, the two reached the restaurant they have eaten when they first went into the city. The atmosphere between them was a bit awkward and none of them were saying anything

Kence will sneakily turn to look at Calter that is embarrassed deep inside him. Calter just didn't show it but he's as shy as Kence, the only difference is that he can hide what his real feelings were

No matter how much Calter doesn't want to admit it but he is still realizing something .... there is something in Kence that is .... slowly making him fall for him. Maybe, Calter is already in love with Kence but he just doesn't know it or he refuses to accept it

However, Calter has huge plans for becoming as strong as possible. He doesn't need any distractions from anyone. But .... Calter looked at Kence and he was worried. If he really decided to keep his distance from Kence after this mission, can he really do that?

"W-why are you l-looking at me?" Since Calter is in deep thought, he didn't realize that he was already staring at Kence that made the youth even more embarrassed

"Just who is the one looking at me in a not so sneaky way before?" Calter thought inside him but he of course wouldn't say that

"Nothing" Calter simply said much to Kence's dissatisfaction

The two were only about the order their food when Caizher caught someone in his peripheral vision. When Kence turned to look at where Calter is looking, he saw the man they are investigating for the past week

"Should we follow him?" Kence asked before Calter thought of another plan. "Stay here, I'll follow him by myself"

Kence wants to refuse as he doesn't want to feel useless but Calter looked at him sternly. "Be good, eat here first or I'm the one that's going to eat you" Calter threatened but Kence just repeatedly blinked his eyes

"Huh?" Kence muttered while turning his head to the side. Calter almost facepalmed himself at that. "Just eat here, if you follow me I'll kiss you tonight"

"P-pervert!" Kence said angrily. Why is Calter always being like this? "Just stay here" Calter replied before exiting the restaurant to follow Gam

Calter saw Gam patrolling the town for any fights. Just like before, the people that saw him all bowed their heads respectfully at him

Gam always keep the town's peace and a lot of people respected him

Calter made sure to be sneaky so that Gam won't notice him. Fortunately, this area has quite a lot of people and it was easy to blend with them

After some time, Calter sensed magic fluctuations. It was weak and was hard to notice. Even Calter, a 'special' Magic Knight barely sensed that and it feels different than normal magic

If Calter wasn't focusing on Gam, even he, wouldn't notice it. As a result, Calter use his magic and no one noticed him too

Calter saw a camouflaged beam of green light and he had his ghost spy follow it while he personally followed Gam

Calter put his left hand on his left eye and covered it before connecting one of his eyes' vision to the ghost spy

This put a burden on Calter as he can see two things at the same time but he just gritted his teeth and endure

After a few minutes, Calter saw that the green light divided into two that entered the bodies of two people that were both drunk. Calter was surprised as the two just suddenly started fighting as if it was the most normal thing to do in the world. The cause of their fight wasn't even clear but since they were both drunks ... people will assume that they fought because they are in a drunken state

"This Gam, what is he planning to do?" Calter asked to himself

Soon, the magic fluctuations attracted a lot of attention and even Gam 'sensed it'

Gam immediately run towards the two drunkards with Calter following him. Fortunately, a lot of people were also curious and Calter didn't stand out like an eyesore because of his actions

After some time, Gam reached the area where the two were fighting and as soon as he arrives, the two drunkards immediately calmed down and apologize to him

"They calmed down just like that? No, their fight is caused by Gam himself and he will arrest them just like the previous times but what for?"

Calter didn't sense that Gam uses magic to instigate people into fighting before as he only spied on the man using his ghost spy. Calter doesn't want to be noticed by anyone in this town but that is also the reason why he didn't find anything even after a week

Seems like to succeed in this mission, risking it is the right thing to do. Being passive won't give Calter any results

However, although Calter already knows this, he still can't figure what Gam wants to achieve with this

"Is he the mastermind or just an underling? I better gauge his powers first" Deciding of this, Calter uses a lot of mana and they gathered into his eyes

Calter's dark and round pupils immediately changed shape and became a star shape one made from two triangles

"[Karami Magic: Endless Darkness!]" Calter stared at Gam's back and his vision entered the man's spirit sea

However .... to Calter's shock, Gam's soul has a layer of green light that has defensive properties. The protection was too strong as Calter can't even put Gam into an illusion even just a split second

"What is that? It doesn't feel like magic at all .... why do I feel that that power is a higher power than even magic itself?" Calter wondered but soon, the green light generated a strange wave and he was expelled out of Gam's spirit sea

Calter returned back to reality and saw Gam looking at him. That green light prevented Calter from successfully using his Karami and he was even discovered

"[Dark Magic: Dark Fog!]" Calter immediately covered the area a hundred meters around him with a dark fog and he blended in it

Gam is more tricky than what Calter thought and he is now almost a hundred percent sure that Gam has something to do with why the town is currently like this

Calter used several concealing spells to himself to flee from that area but Gam didn't make any move to stop him

Gam just stared at the black fog with a strange glint in his eyes

After running away from Gam, Calter arrived at Kence's location and saw the youth eating while having a pout on his face. Calter wants Kence to keep eating but now is not the time for that

"Kence, come with me" Calter said in a serious voice and Kence paid for his food first before coming with the man

"What happened?" Kence asked in worry. "We'll talk later, but for now, it would be better if we lay low first"

The two went into a secluded alley first and changed their appearance and clothes again before checking in on another inn different from the one they are staying in before

As soon as they entered their room, Calter immediately took out a rune from his spatial ring and covered the place with it. The runes have the ability to sense enemies in case Gam discovered Calter

Kence is not that insensitive and he quietly sat on one of the beds. He knew that Calter won't act like this unless something big happened

After the preparations were done, only then did Calter turned to look at Kence

"I am almost a hundred percent sure that Gam has connections to what happened in the Town. I tried putting him into an illusion but there's a protective green light covering his soul and I was unsuccessful. He even discovered me" Calter explained with a grim voice

The power that he sensed on Grim's soul can't be described with words and it causes Calter to worry. He is not afraid of Gam but Kence is currently with him

Gam's danger level is extremely high because of that green light that was enough to make Calter feel how little he is. Calter doesn't know if the Head Master knows this but this mission is far from ordinary!

Just what is that green light? Its aura was even stronger than the Escardon Academy's Head Master that is even stronger than the three Great Kings combined!

Calter is already considering to forfeit in this mission

Kence can sense Calter's panic and things might really be bad. Calter is a courageous man that won't act like this without a reason

Kence didn't know that Calter is panicking this much because of him. Calter isn't that afraid of danger but his heart won't settle down after knowing the danger. After all, the Calter at the Enchanted Star Realm will never let Kence be in any harm

That Calter is still the Calter in the Escardon Realm, the only difference is the memories!
