Magic With You

Two mages died from Calter's attack and now, only four remained. Calter tried to attack them too but they spread out burning fires around and he was forced to jump away so that the fire won't touch even an inch of his body

The two sides stared at each other with the sea of ??????fire dividing them before the mages controlled the surrounding fire. Dogs suddenly formed and their bodies are all completely made from fire and they run towards Kence and Calter

The dogs numbered around ten and five dogs attacks each of the two. Kence puts his arms in front of him and a large ice lotus immediately appeared

The lotus starts glowing with an icy blue light before a stream of icy energy was shot by it. The dogs of course dodged and the icy energy wasn't able to touch and destroy them

However, Kence already anticipated that and the beam continued charging towards the two mages from the back. The mages were too focused on controlling the fire dogs and they didn't have a chance to protect themselves

The icy energy hits one of the mages' body and its body was thrown towards the other side of the cave before its whole body turned into an ice sculpture

As soon as Kence's attack ended, the mage's body starts to fall down and the ice sculpture immediately shattered into smaller pieces of ice

The dogs coming towards Kence also dissipated because of that and only one mage remained now

Calter uses a sword and he slammed it on the ground. The ground immediately cracked that spread to a wide area. The dogs ignored it though and they continued running towards him

However, when the dogs reach the area where the ground has some cracks, black energy suddenly erupted from the ground and the dogs were caught inside it causing them to be destroyed

Calter was really skillful on that attack as he immediately uses the remaining power from his earlier attack to form a new attack

Several black acid balls were formed by Calter by using the leftover energy from his attack and he threw them towards the last enemy

The mage controlled the surrounding fire and a barrier of fire suddenly appeared in front of him. However, Kence shot frosty energy from his palm and it froze a layer of the fire before it broke down into smaller pieces

That action of Kence gave Calter an opening and he had his acids attack the remaining mage by entering the area devoid of any fire

Soon, the acid balls hit the mage causing its body to start melting. The fire around starts to vanished and Calter immediately shot a black beam towards the mage's head successfully killing it

Calter heaved a sigh of relief because of that. Now that the sword, bows, and staff lane was cleared, he and Kence have lesser things to worry about. He can only hope that the next round would be easier

Calter was still only thinking of that when the ground starts to move again. He and Kence thought that the cave walls would just move but to their shock, that didn't happen

Instead of the walls revealing a pathway, it was the ground below them that vanishes. The hard and solid ground was suddenly replaced by water and if they weren't fast enough to use mana on their feet, they would have been submerged in it

As soon as the ground vanishes, Calter runs towards Kence as fast as he can to keep him safe from any incoming danger

Kence spread his ice around for a few meters so that he and Calter will have a solid footing. Standing on top of the water will continuously use up some mana, it would be better if they have a place they can stand on without using more mana than they already do

Soon, some rocks floated in the water along with some beautiful beings. The creatures all have the body of a human to their top but their bottom was completely fish like as they have tails

"Mermaids?" The two asked themselves. The creatures all look like mermaids. They are all women with beautiful face and long hair

Some shells were attached to their chest to cover their private area but aside from that, they don't have any piece of clothing in their bodies

The mermaid starts opening their mouth and Calter readied his sword. However, no attack or at least a visible one was made by the mermaid as they just start to sing some wonderful melody

Their voices were angelic and it was something that everyone would want to hear but Calter's countenance turned cold at that. He can feel how the mana inside his spirit sea starts to move as they are resisting a soul attack that was directed straight to his soul

If not for the mana inside Calter's spirit sea, he might have already fallen into an illusion

Calter has this kind of defense but the same cannot be said for Kence. The youth's eyes start to lose their spirit and he starts to wobble as if he will fall any second from now

Calter of course wouldn't let that happen and he wrapped his arm into Kence's waist to support the youth into standing. Calter also used his other hand and he puts it on Kence's head before sending some of his mana to the youth's brain to stimulate it a bit

"Release!"

Kence's body jolted in shock as that action of Calter woke him up and he stood up on his own again. "W-what happened?" Kence asked in confusion and Calter pointed at the still singing mermaids

Calter got angry at those mermaids for almost affecting Kence and he sent a wave of dark energy towards them. However, to their shock, some sort of an invisible barrier prevented Calter from harming them

Calter knitted his brows at that before sending another wave of stronger energy but the result was still the same. They weren't able to touch the mermaids at all

Kence also tried and the same ice lotus flower from before appeared in front of him that shot a laser energy towards one of the mermaids. However, he got the same result, although he continuously provided mana to the ice lotus so that it won't stop sending the stream of energy, the barrier didn't crack even just by a bit

"Are we not supposed to kill them?" Calter asked in confusion. If they cannot kill the mermaids then what is the point of this round?

However, Calter wasn't able to think further when he noticed that Kence starts being affected by the sound again

A wave of drowsiness starts to overcome Kence's body and he is on the brink of losing consciousness for the second time. Without a choice, Calter can only send another stream of mana to Kence's brain to stimulate it

Kence returned back to normal and they tried attacking the mermaids again. Too bad that no matter what kind of attack they used, they just can't harm the mermaids at all

"What to do?" Calter asked while sending another stream of mana straight to Kence's brain. He already does it a few times and he soon can't do it anymore

Calter helps Kence from exiting the illusion's effect by stimulating the youth's brain. If it's just once or twice, it wasn't that bad. However, he cannot continuously use it

Kence's brain would be damaged with the excessive times of stimulation. After all, Calter is using mana, it was a foreigner for Kence's body and after a few times, he should stop doing it

In fact, some side effects can already be seen as Kence's face starts to pale. This is not a good sign. Kence's brain is already being fatigued

"Kence, fight the illusion! Think of something that can stimulate your brain on its own. I can't keep sending mana to your brain" Calter said with visible worry on both his face and voice

"Stimulate ..?" Kence tried to think of something but no matter how hard he tries, he just can't think of something

"Stimulate ..." Kence thought inside him before drowsiness starts to overcome him again and his vision locked into Calter's lips

Calter saw Kence's situation and he sent yet another stream of mana to Kence's brain and that causes the youth's body to jolt in shock and he even shouted something

"KISS!" Kence shouted loudly causing Calter to blink his eyes repeatedly. Did Calter hear wrong?

Calter thought that he is the perverted one here, how come Kence is thinking of a kiss when they are in this kind of situation?

Kence realizes what he had blurted out and he lowered his head while feeling extremely embarrassed. Why does Kence need to remember the 'stimulating' kiss with Calter at this time? This was too embarrassing!

The two entered an awkward state where no one of them was talking again. However, Calter suddenly realizes something. Kence should have succumbed to the mermaids' voice in a shorter time the more fatigue Kence's brain becomes but it was taking too long for that to happen
