Magic With You

Calter smirked and a black magic wand appeared on his hand. It wasn't the wand that his mother gave him. And until now, Calter still didn't know where Emily got that wand. That wand might only be a few percent superior than the common wands in the market but it wasn't easy to have a wand like that! Even a single percent increase will make the wand much more expensive!

As Calter won from an opponent that has the power bordering those of Magic Warriors, he doesn't think he will lose to a mere Level 7 Magic Apprentice. Besides, it's not like he wants to hurt Caizha. That's why, for Calter, it wasn't necessary to use a more powerful wand. In fact, he can use his bare hands to fight without needing for a wand at all. But that will incur too much wrath from the woman which is not Calter's goal

"Gladly!" Calter answered and readied himself for spell casting

Caizha was the same, she gathered her mana around the tip of her icy blue wand. "[Ice Magic: Frozen Fist!]" In just a second, a fist completely made from ice was shot from the woman's wand advancing on Calter's direction

Frozen Fist is a Level 5 Spell and Caizha's skills were enough to finish casting it in a mere second. One can say that although she was pampered since young but she is still a talent!

If it were others who were agitated, they will surely use the most powerful spell they know to win. However, just because you can cast stronger and more powerful spells doesn't mean you will win!

One also need to consider the spell casting time!

Facing such an attack, Calter wasn't faze at all. His face was calm as if he didn't put the spell on his eyes

"[Dark Magic: Darkness Ball!]" Calter's signature spell was formed in less than a second and it advance to meet the ice fist

Caizha was surprise a bit but soon regained her calm. Calter's spell casting speed is fast but Caizha just think that it's because it was a low levelled spell

The young woman moved her wand and the frozen fist changed its direction a bit. It seems like she is also a talent in an actual fight! Most Magic Apprentices cannot change the direction of their spells after all

This wasn't a surprise to Calter, after all, Caizha is still the number 1 genius in the City. She should at least have this level of talent to be called the number 1

Calter did the same and control his spell to changed direction in midair. The way he did it was much more skillful than is opponent

Calter used four of the darkness balls to cancel out the frozen fist. His usual tactic of using low levelled spell to alter the trajectory of his opponent's attacks won't work on Caizha who can also control her spell in mid air

Each of his darkness ball contained the power of a level 3 Spell and four of them were more than enough to destroy a level 5 Spell. The last one was a surplus and Calter controlled it to flew on Caizha's direction

The woman was shock and didn't expected that what she thought of weak spell will easily cancel her own and one of it was actually flying to her

The young woman forced herself and gathered mana on her wand again. "[Ice Magic: Ice Barrier!]" A small barrier made from ice formed in front of Caizha and the darkness ball slammed on it

Caizha heaved a sigh of relief, if she wasn't fast enough, that spell will really hit her and she will lose the fight in a single exchange!

What she didn't know was that Calter actually hold back. The man's most talented aspect was his spell casting after all! If Calter wants, he can easily control the darkness ball to not hit the ice barrier and circle around Caizha to hit her on the back. But his goal wasn't to defeat the woman in a single exchange

Caizha was just about to catch her breath when Calter casted another spell again. "[Dark Summon Magic: Skeleton Warriors!]"

Calter pointed his wand on the ground and a few meters summoning circle appeared. From it, emerged five skeletons with burning black fires on their eye sockets holding a normal looking sword

The soul fire in the skeletons flickered before they slowly walk on Caizha's direction with an imposing manner. Caizha's face has a great change. Calter's spell casting speed was too much for her to take!

Their battlefield contained ice and snow, Caizha should have the advantage in that and even her rank was higher than Calter. But she was pushed to the edge in the first exchange. On the second exchange on the other hand, she needs to fight more than one opponent!

The woman gritted her teeth and run away from the skeletons. Fortunately for her, the skeleton's running speed were not that fast. The skeletons were also having a hard time running due to snow on their feet

Caizha stopped a bit far from the skeleton and Calter didn't chase her. She judged that the distance between them is far enough to dodge any spell that Calter will use

She put all of her focus on the skeletons charging at her with their swords

"[Ice Magic: Ice Disks!]" Three disks of ice formed in front of Caizha and she used it to kill the three skeletons closest to her. It was another Level 5 Spell but a single disk's power is weaker than normal Level 5 Spells. After all, it was a spell to use in multiple enemies which naturally made it a bit weaker individually

But it was more than enough! She controlled the disks and it flew on the skeletons. Two of them hit the skeletons on the neck, severing their heads. The soul fire inside those skeletons died out and their bodies turned into specks of black lights

The last ice disk on the other hand only hit the skeleton on its body and destroyed its bones. Although she wasn't able to directly kill it, but the skeleton's body was unsuitable for it to fight now

Caizha took a deep breath before she decided to run again so that the remaining skeletons won't reach her. But to her shock, small sparks of black fire flew on her direction in a fast speed

Caizha was startled and quickly formed another ice barrier. However, this put a burden on her soul. Although she's only feeling a slight ache on her head and it was still not enough to affect her. But if she continued to cast spells one after another, the burden on her soul will multiply until she won't be able to cast any spell at all!

Fortunately, the sparks of black flames were too weak and it wasn't able to shatter her hastily formed barrier. She just finished defending herself when Calter's voice entered her mind

"Another naivety thinking! Don't just assume things! In a battle, nothing is impossible! You might think that I can't hit you from that distance but if we are in real life or death battle that mistake of yours will cost you your life!" Calter said coldly which made Caizha to grit her teeth angrily

She knew it was her mistake to focus on the skeletons while ignoring the mage behind them. If Calter used a more powerful spell, her hastily made ice barrier won't be able to defend herself and she might lose her life in that instant. However, for Calter to throw it on her face like that made her angry

Caizha's face turned colder like an ice ready to erupt any time. She used more ice disks to finished the skeletons and charged back at Calter

Calter wasn't afraid though and summoned another group of five skeletons. It caused Caizha to stop on her tracks and use whatever spell she can to kill the skeletons as fast as possible

This naturally put a great burden on both her physical body and soul. But now, all she wants was to vent out her frustration from her master and Calter

Ice spells one after another was shot from her wand. From every spell she made, she will pour out her frustration on it. She only stopped when her mana run out

Even after using all of her mana and making her soul to ache badly, she still wasn't able to get close to Calter. You can't blame her though, Calter is like a machine gun continuously spewing out spells after spells

The difficulty of the spell was only at Level 3 and with Calter's mana, he can summon tens of skeletons. His soul was as strong as those of a Magic Warrior now. His magic theory comprehension and soul is qualified now for him to be a Magic Warrior. The only thing lacking now is the amount of mana he has and a slight increase on the quality of his body that wasn't hard to improve

But raising mana cannot be rushed too fast. A sudden huge increased in mana will cause irreparable damage on one's body and will weaken their foundation. That's why, although talent is important but one must also have time if they want to become strong!

Caizha supported herself by resting her hands on her knees while panting hard. Even though their surroundings were cold but bullets of sweat formed on her forehead

Her original extremely frustrated mood vanished as she vents it all out on her fight with Calter. It also cleared her mind and made her mentality came back to being flexible

Caizha heard Calter's footsteps nearing her and she raised her head weakly. Unlike her, Calter doesn't look a bit tired at all. Calter's soul was upgraded to the next level because of his fight with the Shan youth and he can cast spells with more ease now

"Putting too much of a strong front isn't that always good" Calter said while shaking his head. Although the young woman is extremely tired, but her pride was still high

As Caizha's mind is clearer now, she only smiled bitterly before her knees gave out and she landed on the soft snow below. Her chest was still moving in a fast manner due to how fast her heart is beating

She's still tired but at least it is easier to recover now as she stopped forcing herself in putting a brave front and rested on the ground

A few minutes passed without any of the two saying anything. Calter wants to leave to do his things but he can't just leave Caizha here just like that. Don't get him wrong, he doesn't really care about Caizha

It's just that, Calter felt really grateful to Otto for all of his help and he can't possibly be rude and leave his disciple here alone. Also, Caizha is Kence's senior sister. Showing her kindness might make her put more care to Kence. Anyone as long as it wasn't his rival is welcome to take care of Kence!

He wasn't as close minded like before, although he's still possessive in several areas but again, he is still too weak! He wants to have as many people as possible to care and protect Kence

After some time when Calter saw that Caizha already recovered a bit he decided to break the silence

"I hope our battle today will make you open your eyes. I won't stop or push you in entering the Enchanted Academy but simply knowing what you might encounter is not enough. Really understanding it is important. Stop being a frog at the bottom of the well!" Calter's words were hurtful but at this time Caizha is already used at his bluntness

Maybe, that was one of the reasons why she is attracted to Calter. She also admired the City Lord a lot and might be unconsciously wanting someone like Otto

Calter and Otto is a bit similar in they always said what they want directly without sugar coating their words, except when they are talking to someone, they love a lot

Calter is liked that to Kence. While Otto is also like that to Caizha as he thinks of her like she's his precious daughter

Their fight today put her mind in the right track but it also made Caizha's feelings for Calter to deepen. Having a magic battle with someone is not as brutal as it sounds

Sometimes, it was a bonding between people who pursue the path of magic and power! It can deepen their bonds and feelings!
