Chapter 39 - Gym Class

Black's POV

The class continued until the bell for lunch time rang. "Alright, class." The teacher said. "If there aren't any questions, then class is dismissed. Be back here after lunch. Your next teacher is gonna be using this classroom too, so don't be late." He announced as he left the classroom.

"I'm glad that's over!" White exclaimed as he rested his head on the table. "I hate that teacher with a burning passion."

Ivory laughed. "What did he even do to you to deserve all that hate?"

"He's alive. That's what he's doing." I added. "That guy's a terror to work with."

"I can see why." Crimson said. "So are you gonna go to lunch or what?"

"I could go for something to eat." Ivory replied.

"Yeah, same." I agreed. "Where's Lilac? Let's ask her to come with us too."

"I don't think I've seen her in class." White replied. "Did she get lost or something?"

"I'll look for her." Crimson offered as he stood up and headed to the door.

"I guess that's it th-" I got interrupted by hearing Crimson.

"Oof!" Crimson exclaimed. We headed over by the door and saw him knocked down on the ground with a girl in her pe uniform in front of him. "Hey, sorry about that." He said as he stood up and offered his hand to the girl. The girl had a familiar purple shade... Wait!

The girl took Crimson's hand and stood up. "Thank you." She said.

"I knew it!" I exclaimed. "Lilac, why are you in your pe uniform?" I asked.

The girl fixed her hair, which looked like it just got wet, and revealed herself to actually be Lilac. "I tripped when my water bottle was open." She said.

"I went to the clinic. I had a few scratches when I tripped."

"Oh, okay. Do you wanna come with us for lunch?" Crimson offered.

"Lunch?" Lilac asked as she brushed her hair. "Sure, let me just get my money."

"We'll wait for you here." White said.

Lilac came back and the five of us walked to the cafeteria to buy food. I could hear the students around talking about us.

"Why are the princes hanging out with that delinquent?" One asked.

"Don't you think the girl they're with looks kinda cute?" Another added.

"I wish I could be friends with people like them."

I still have no idea why people see me as a prince. Honestly, I feel so plain compared to these guys. White has amazing charisma. Lilac is beautiful and so sweet. Crimson is talented as hell. I just don't feel like I even deserve to hang out with them. I feel like I don't belong.

"Oh." I said as I ran up to them. "Sorry, I'm coming."

"What kept you?" White asked.

"I was just thinking of something." I replied.

"You sure? You look sad." Lilac added.

"I'm fine. Geez, you guys worry too much."

The five of us got to the cafeteria and tried to find a place to sit down. Crimson, Lilac, and White offered to buy the food, while Ivory and I stayed at the table.

"So, how long have you known Crimson?" I asked. Thinking of a topic is a hassle, but if it's Crimson's friend, then I'll try.

"A few years." Ivory replied.

Damn. At least keep the topic going. "Uh, this might be a bit rude to ask..."

"You're the guy that fought with Crimson, right?" I asked.

"Yeah, that was me." He replied.

"So, you guys are okay now?"

He smiled, revealing two fang-like teeth on the side of his mouth. He reminded me of a vampire. "Yeah... We talked and worked things out."

"You look really happy. Were you guys close?"

"We were. Really close, but one mistake changed our friendship, you know?"

"Don't worry about it. At least you're friends again. I'm happy for the both of you."

"Did he... Did he tell you?"

"He did... I'm sorry."

"I think so."

He sighed heavily. "I'm glad he has somebody that he can open up to."

"You know, when he told me your story, he hated talking bad about you. I can't count how many times he said that he hated you and he just couldn't forgive you, but right after, he would say he wished he could."

"Really?"

"Yeah... I'm honestly jealous of the friendship you two have. It's really heartwarming to see."

"Why would you be?"

"I've never had a friend that I could be that close with."

"Why is that?"

"Um..."

"Sorry we took a bit long. The line was crazy long." Lilac added.

"I miss being able to sit down." White said as he put his arm around my shoulder and took a seat beside me.

"You're being overdramatic, princess." Crimson teased him.

"Oh shut up, hothead." White answered.

"Alright, that's enough." Lilac stopped them. "It's not nice to fight."

"You guys seem close." I whispered to White.

His expression turned sour as he handed me a burger. "No. Just no."

I chuckled. "Thanks. By the way, do you wanna come with me to the mall later?"

"Sure, it's not like I have anything to do anyway."

"The more, the merrier." I replied.

She looked at Crimson and Ivory. "What about you guys?"

"We're going somewhere later too." Crimson replied.

"We are?" Ivory asked.

"Yes, we are."

"Then I guess we are."

Lilac pouted. "I guess that leaves the three of us."

"What about your other friend?" I asked. "I think her name was Chartreuse?"

"Oh, she's absent today. She had somewhere to go to."

"She does? That sucks. I was hoping to know more about her."

She smiled as she moved closer to me. "Really?? You really wanna be her friend??"

I moved away a bit. "Uh, yeah." I replied nervously. "We had a bad start, but I think we could still be friends."

She took my hands held them tightly. "Thank you, Black. You're a really nice guy."

After lunch, the five of us headed back to our classes. We had PE next, so White and I headed straight to the gym's changing room. The other boys in our class followed after.

I took my shirt off and stuffed it inside my locker.

"Woah, do you go to the gym?" White asked.

"No?" I replied as I took my PE shirt out and closed the locker. "I just work out when I have time." He glared at me and moved closer. "What is it?" I asked.

He placed his hand on my ċhėst. "Why do you have such a nice body?" He asked. "Compared to mine, you look really good. It's almost unfair."

Now that I look at him, he's really thin. Not as thin as somebody with a life-threatening disease, but he's thinner than normal. Honestly, I didn't even notice I have a nice body. I always just thought it'd be nice to work out since I wanted to be healthy.

I chuckled. "It's fine. You just have to eat more." I told him. "And don't feel bad about it. Your face is better than mine anyway, so we're even." I said as I put my PE shirt on.

"What? Dude, you literally have tons of girls that are willing to kill just to date you. I think your face is way better than mine." He replied as he put his shirt on too.

"You're exaggerating. Trust me. Maybe if you wore more fashionable clothes then you'd probably be more confident. I'll buy you some later too."

"I... No thanks. I think I'm cool with my clothes."

I grabbed his shoulders. "I insist on buying you clothes. Maybe even some hoodies." I told him. I'd do anything just to get him not to wear any more of those tacky hoodies.

Our class began and we all formed into teams for dodgeball. It was literally the most generic PE class in the world, but whatever.

I honestly don't enjoy sports. It's the bane of my existence. I'm horrible at them, but for some reason, people still insist on making me play even though they know.

The class finished. Our team lost, obviously. I didn't really get to contribute much since I'm weak as hell, but nobody got mad at me. Are these the perks of being popular? Luckily, that was our last subject. All that's left to do now is to go home.
