Monster Integration

3494 Mission Accomplished

He had been following us an hour after we left the hills.

He had been extremely discreet and maintained a large distance, that even Wanya couldn't sense him.

I did with my soul waves.

Every few minutes, I would release extremely faint waves of soul sense.

Usually, such methods are easy to detect, but thanks to the clever formation and tiny bit of forbidden energy naturally present in it. My waves are hard to detect.

He had followed us for hours before revealing himself.

It is not suspicious behavior; considering it was us who were acting suspiciously as we moved unconscious people into the dangerous place.

Still, I couldn't take the risk and used my strings.

Usually, I wouldn't dare to use them against the energy as strong as this one, but I had hours to do it and, at such time, I could use them without being detected.

It is a good thing; I had listened to my guts and took the chance.

Even without it, we would have been fine. Though capturing him would have been a challenge.

Wanya had been holding back a lot of her power, which is not surprising; at least to me.

I had seen how close she was to the first self-destruction of the cultist. She was barely a meter away when he had self-destructed and came out alive with minimal injury.

If she had the strength she had projected; there is no way she would have been able to survive that blast.

It struggled and struggled against my strings, but all it could do was twitch.

Finally, it seemed to understand what was happening and tried to self-destruct with the seal.

Buzz!

At the same time, formation in the string activated at its full power, and his eyes widened before he shook and fell unconscious, with blood coming out of all his orifices.

A smile couldn't help but appear on my face seeing that.

I didn't tinker with seal like I did with the last cultist. It would have detected it, so I had decided to trust my formation, which has been changed to deal with the seal.

I had studied the seal of the last cultist and saw how it worked.

So, when it activated, it was for self-destruction. My formation just diverted that power at his soul and knocked him out.

The process is a lot more complex than it looked. However, what matters is that it has worked.

"Let's go," I said as I added the half-elf to the group of unconscious people.

We resumed our journey without any question. As for the monsters. They ran away, the moment Wanya had revealed her power.

There are a lot of questions in the eyes of teammates, not only about me, but also about Wanya, but they didn't ask. Everybody has their secrets, and one shouldn't ask such questions.

We are also restricted in talking about it.

There is a clear text in the document that we couldn't discuss anything related to the mission after it was over. Everything that needed to be said should be said in the reports and nowhere else.

We didn't get much rest, as the few minutes after we have dealt with the Kenys. Another group of monsters had attacked us.

It was a small but powerful group. Thankfully, Wanya had dealt with it.

After that, we came across many monster groups, but they were weak enough that not a single one of them needed more than a minute to deal with.

We increased our speed, coming across more people. Some had tried to stop us, but as soon as we showed them our badges, they gave us the clear way.

"Finally, we are out," said Elra as walked out of the Olis grove and took a step into the wasteland.

Wanya took out the artifact to check the stability of the space as we moved into the wasteland.

This time, we didn't even walk and took the sky directly.

Earlier, we needed to be careful of our movements to not get discovered by the cultists, but now, we didn't have to be worried about that.

It would be good if we found a stable space in the wasteland, but wouldn't matter much if we didn't.

It wouldn't take us long to cross the wasteland.

"Found it,"

I was thinking about that when Wanya called out. Immediately, big smiles appeared on our tired faces.

We formed the square with thirty-two people inside and activated the beacon through our badges.

For a couple of seconds, there was nothing, before I felt the spatial force, and the second after that, it all turned silvery in front of me.

A few seconds later, I found myself on the red disk.

It is not the same disk we had gone out. That was the transmitter disk, this one was the receiver disk.

We walked out of the disk and stepped into the adjacent hall, where two Sky Sovereigns were sitting.

"These thirty are the victims and these two are cultists," informed Wanya, before placing a white crystal in front of them.

"This is my report," she added.

I appeared in front of the desk and placed the two crystals. The horned Sky Sovereign arched her brow, seeing the second crystal.

"The second one contains their medical information," I informed.

Elra and Gamin have also submitted their reports to the Sky Sovereigns.

Most Earth Sovereigns create reports while performing the mission. It helps them to be as detailed as possible and saves them time.

"You all are clear to go," said the Sky Sovereign.

We nodded respectfully and walked toward the teleportation formation.

A few minutes later, I walked into my suit and the first thing I did was remove the body I was wearing. It took over ten minutes; longer because it is not just the shifting of bones.

There is an alchemical method involved in it.

After I finished with it, I walked to the shower. While I am tired and hungry, I want to clean myself first.

Ten minutes later, I walked out of the shower and ate the food, my clone had cooked, before lying on the bed and falling sleep, within seconds.
