“The sniper is in position. What’s your situation?”
Cross placed his hand on his earpiece. At this time, he was more than two kilometers from the No. 17 Textile Mill. Even top-class snipers couldn’t guarantee to hit their targets at this distance, but Cross could. He had tons of adrenaline pumping through his blood, and when it came to sniping, the farther, the better.
They had decided not to attack during the night. The cover of darkness would only interfere with Cross’s sniping. After all, the Textile Mill was the Fraternity’s territory, and its members were more familiar with its layout.
Cross was positioned right across from the Textiles Mill, and all of its high points were in his sniping area. This was a position he had selected after intensive investigation, and there were no other sniping spots that could threaten him.
Through the scope, he could see the garbage truck drive over the bridge and to the main gate of the Textile Mill.
“No problem! The rats are in position!” Fox coldly replied from the driver’s seat.
“Be careful. The rats will need some time to spread through the Textile Mill. You’ll be under fire while this is happening. Try your best not to fire, and I’ll do my best to protect you. We don’t want to run out of ammo.”
This was Cross’s style. If you could snipe, why use a handgun? If you could use a handgun, there was no need to fight with fists, and if you could fight with fists, there was no need to waste time chatting.
“Understood!”
After Fox replied, she nodded at Wesley, who immediately reversed the truck, slamming it into the gates of the Textile Mill.
The assassins of the Fraternity had noticed something was wrong the moment the garbage truck appeared, and many of them had looked out their windows to see what was going on. All of them were assassins and extremely wary, but it was also precisely because they were all assassins that they had never imagined that someone would attack this place.
Bang!!!
The gates of the Textile Mill were rammed open. It was only now that the assassins stirred from their stupor and began to aim their weapons.
Wesley had chosen the perfect place to park the truck, right inside the gate. From the walls, the inside of the gate was a blind spot, and the thick metal exterior of the garbage truck was not something that could be pierced by ordinary bullets.
Sloan saw the garbage truck through his window, and on his order, several dozen men began to fire, all of them equipped with automatic rifles.
Suddenly, Sloan sensed death approaching and instinctively dropped to the ground.
A scream came from the roof above, and then a corpse dropped past his window. Sloan’s face twitched, and when he heard the thud from the ground, his heart went cold.
“That damn Cross!”
Sloan crawled along the walls and left that dangerous window. The office on the third floor was the safest area in the Textile Mill. He was the leader and was responsible for issuing the orders from the Loom, not holding a gun and dealing with invaders.
Sloan had thought of many scenarios, but the one scene he hadn’t expected was Cross being so bold as to attack in the day. The difference in manpower was too stark, and anyone who knew a little arithmetic would never make such a choice.
He had called back all the members dispatched on assassination missions to engage in a large-scale search for Cross. He was somewhat regretting now that he hadn’t acted a little sooner.
Fox pushed a button, opening the garbage truck’s trash bin and dumping it out, allowing the one thousand rats to go free.
The gunfire had already thrown the rats into a complete panic, and as the bin opened, they fled in every direction. Wide-open spaces were of no comfort to them, and they found the shadows of the Textile Mill much safer and rushed toward it.
The sight of these rats made the Fraternity’s assassins uneasy. Some of them were smart people who knew the Exterminator, so they instinctively sensed how dangerous the rats were and began to fire on them.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang…
Cross began his happy harvest as a sniper. In Bullet Time, he could easily snipe the members of the fraternity on the walls and in the windows.
Realizing that the enemy had a sniper, the assassins began to take out their own sniper rifles. But when they saw that the sniper was two kilometers away, their courage failed.
It was too far beyond their range!
Bang! Bang! Bang!
After several more shots, no one dared to show their heads again.
Ten-some assassins are holding handguns charged out from a small door in the walls. They wanted to kill Wesley, and the high walls made it so that they didn’t have to worry about being hit by the sniper.
It was all very logical, but they had barely run out when they were forced back by the two grenades Wesley and Fox had thrown in through the door. After two explosions, this group of would-be heroes was heavily injured, and it took only a little effort to end their lives.
The grenades made the assassins unwilling to take any further reckless action, but the rats were spurred into hastily rushing into the Textile Mill.
The sounds of cursing and gunfire could soon be heard from within. The rats were madly rushing around in a panic, spreading like the plague. Ordinary rats would naturally have been of little concern for the assassins, but the explosive on their backs changed things.
More and more assassins began to work on eliminating the rats, but they were simply too scattered and numerous. The assassins began to howl in despair.
Killing the rats didn’t mean getting rid of the explosives. As the timers on the explosives ticked down, the Textile Mill grew even more chaotic.
There was no time to get rid of the explosives.
In their desire to survive, some people tried to charge out the main gate, but they were forced back by Cross and Wesley. Meanwhile, the assassins who tried to counterattack through the windows had their lives taken by Cross.
The impregnable stronghold had now become an inescapable coffin. Once they were dead, all that was needed was a pastor to come along and finish the burial!
As the seconds went by, Fox listened to the howls of despair from the Textile Mill, a hint of pity in her eyes.
There were many people in the Textile Mill, just like her, people who had been fooled by Sloan into thinking they were assassins of fate, people who fought to uphold peace in the world. Without knowing the truth, they had become Sloan’s accomplices.
Objectively speaking, they were innocent, merely sacrifices.
But Fox’s belief had turned her heart ice-cold. These assassins had been innocent, but so had their targets. Peaceful and happy household had been shattered, and numerous sons and daughters had been forced to bury their parents early. These assassins might have been unwitting, but they were guilty all the same.
“It’s the time!”
Fox looked at her watch and then crouched down on the ground together with Wesley, their hands covering their heads.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom…
Numerous explosions resounded through the Textile Mill, instantly shattering glass. Screams and howls of pain could be heard echoing amidst the dust and debris.
The Textile Mill had become a living hell. The dust had reduced visibility, and one could see shattered pieces of textile machinery on the ground, but one could see even more dark pools of blood and body parts.
The timed explosives weren’t strong enough to turn the Textile Mill into this wretched state, but things were different with the special ingredient in the peanut butter. It possessed impressive firepower when heated.
Those who had been killed directly by the explosions were lucky. They didn’t have to go through the pain of dying from blood loss, and those who had lost limbs or had been struck by wooden or metal shrapnel were even worse off. They didn’t have much time left. They wouldn’t make it until the ambulance arrived, and even if the ambulances did arrive, there were too many wounded to save.
“We can start! The plan is going smoothly, but you have to be careful. It will be hard for me to cover you while you’re inside.”
As Cross looked through his scope, there was a hint of happiness in his eyes. However, he continued to fulfill his role as a sniper, preventing anyone from escaping the Textile Mill. Given his understanding of the Fraternity, if there was anyone who wanted to escape, there was an eighty percent chance that person would be Sloan.
“Received!”
Wesley replied. He took in a deep breath, and his heart began to beat faster as he entered Bullet Time. But by the time he turned around, Fox had already charged in, and he hastily rushed to keep up.
As the two of them jumped through a shattered window, their nerves began to fire at superhuman speeds. Their thoughts became capable of rapidly processing the information received by their senses, and their brains rapidly issued commands to kill all the people who were still capable of resisting.
At the same time, Luo Su came in through a back window. The plan was to attack from both sides and to clean up the Textile Mill’s factory floor.
When Luo Su came in, the enemies in front of him were firing on Fox and Wesley. Seeing this, Luo Su threw out a grenade where the enemies were most concentrated and then began to spray the rest with his M4A1.
Of course, before this, he also threw out a flashbang!
