My Destined Werewolf Mate

Chapter 32 - Opposition

The fierce roaring voice of Zeus echoed the whole room as he howled at his father fuming in wrath.

"I don't like to repeat my words. I have already declared." Antonio sounded quite grumpy.

Zeus fiercely walked closer to his father with gallant steps and stared at him. "You can't just decide my life decisions on your own. I won't accept it and hereby, I reject your proposal." He groaned at him and immediately turned back to head straight to his room.

"Do you think you are in a position to oppose my verdict? It's an order from the former alpha of the pack you are leading on. So, better you prepare yourself to accept the new journey of your life." His voice seemed quite darkened as he replied to him.

Zeus clenched his fist in anger and halted his motion. He wanted to begin a rampage inside the mansion to express his grudge but didn't have a choice except to hold it back.

"And just how can you suddenly choose of me getting engaged to a person I don't even love? Ivory is just my close friend and I never had any lingering emotions towards her. Why would I have to follow your verdict?" He strongly opposed in a deep voice.

Antonio stood still for a moment and casually took out a pack of cigarettes from his pocket. While lighting it up, he glanced at Zeus once before speaking, "as your parents, we have the right to chose what's best for you. Ivory has been always beside you in your good and bad times as a strong pillar.

She has always wanted the best for you and that kind of partner can make a life cordially perfect. Besides, she is the strongest alpha she-werewolf of our pack. She is smart, elegant, artistic, and strong... just as perfect for a true powerful alpha like you. What's your point in rejecting such a precious lady?" He raised his pitch while bickering with him.

Zeus narrowed his eyes while glaring at him. Fuming in immense wrath, unknowingly, his dark black eyes transformed into bright red dominant alpha color. He scrunched his eyebrows and snapped back at him, "I don't love her and I won't be able to chose her."

...

"We don't always get to choose the ones we love."

A sudden deep voice from behind startled both of them. As they turned back, Aurelia was standing just behind Zeus with a frigid gaze towards him. She had a fretful expression buried deep down in her gaze.

He tried to tone down his anger a bit and responded, "mom? Why are you--"

"We don't get to select the ones we desire to be with. If you are living with that urge, you are just fooling yourself with a futile dream. Life is... very unfair, son." Her voice sounded quite wistful and slowly approached closer to him.

Zeus stood still and continued gawking at her. He was a bit startled with her response and lowered his face down with a glum eloquence. His heart commenced to ache with an ineffable pain.

"So it''s better, you must accept our choice and go with it. Believe me Zeus, no one will be perfect for you as Ivory." Antonio replied with a mild aspect as he seemed quite pleased with his wife's explanation.

"Dad, you decided it just to let me keep away from her... isn't it? Did a human maiden scare you so much?" He shifted his head sideways and whined at his father. His tone seemed rude as he was extremely vexed.

Antonio seemed agitated with his opposite response and immediately tried to dash towards him fiercely. But Aurelia abruptly came in between them to save her son from his rage and stopped him from approaching. She slightly turned her head sideface and firmly commanded, "go back to your room, Zeus. We will discuss about it later."

Zeus didn't utter a single word and dashed into his room in the blink of a second. As he left the room, she looked at him and he was already glaring at all the way Zeus just left inside.

"Why are you being so harsh on our son? At least... we could have quietly discussed--"

"There is no room left for discussion, Aurelia!" He furiously intervened her sentence and groaned at her by rolling his eyes wider. "Our son has already killed a pack member for that stupid human maiden! I am in awe, how could she was able to enter into his frozen heart? Do you ever think of the consequences if we continue this to let it happen? It would be dreadful for our entire existence!" He continued.

She lowered her eyes and fretted her eyebrows with anguish. "I guess, we have to stop our son from going after her... But... how can we just decide of choosing his mate without his own will! Even I believe... Ivory will be perfect for him, but he needs to accept her too..." She sounded quite concerned for him while responding.

Antonio turned backwards from her and gazed outside of the giant fenestration in their hallroom towards the dark night sky. The cresent moon was absolutely glimmering up, radiating a ecliptic illumination in the dark atmosphere. He continued contemplating at the dark azure with a blank gaze in his eyes.

"I am surprised to be honest... Till now, we never ad to worry for Zeus as he had encountered countless human maidens but, he was all indifferent and cold towards them. But why this lady is taming his frozen heart? How could she enter the place that no one couldn't do it till now, not even Ivory?" He voice seemed dubious.

Aurelia was staring at him with a dark gaze in her eyes and slowly walked towards him. "I am suspicious, is that lady really a pure blood human? Or... an evil spirit bewitching our Zeus? You already know it... there are thousand enemies lurking around him." She answered.

"I am unsure about it but something definitely must have been special about that lady which has caught his attention. But for now, it's extremely important to keep an eye on him.

A werewolf and a human can't exist together... It's absolutely forbidden and I won't allow an alpha of our pack to violate the principal rule of our world." He grumbled infuriatingly.
