My Destined Werewolf Mate

Chapter 61 - A Witness

It was almost afternoon. Dressed up in the fancy maid outfit and walking along staggered, shuffling slow pace, Eva head straight towards her apartment because that's the one and only place she could go holding such a grieved broken heart. However, the passerby strangers were gawking at her with an absurd gesture, especially at her maid outfit. She looked like a cosplay actress but from her gesticulations and a pale face, she seemed totally wrecked from inside.

"EVA!"

All of a sudden someone shrieked aloud reverberating the whole neighbourhood in such a screeching voice. Eva was walking all forward lowering her grimace down at the ground. But the sudden familiar voice caused her to raise her chin up and ogle at the person who summoned her.

It was Clara, her only friend left in this world. She was running closer to her in a spree, looking extremely panicked and almost on the verge of tears. Immediately as she approached her, almost she jumped in her arms clutching her closer with a tight embrace. The hug was so sudden that for a few seconds, even she was baffled.

"EVA! TH-THANK GOODNESS! THANK GOD YOU CAME BACK! THANK GOD!" She started to sob bitterly absorbed in the fret while embracing her tightly. Eva stood still like a statue for a moment and slowly reciprocated her hug by putting her arms around her waist.

"Yeah... Sadly, I have nowhere to go apart from home. I had to come back..." She murmured.

Abruptly, Clara deviated away from her embrace and thoroughly monitored her all around. "Do you even know how fucking scared I was when I saw the letter you left behind? It was almost like...you were going to a lion den! Do you even realize how panicked I was?" She screamed aloud.

"I am sorry Clara--"

"You even left your phone behind! Do you know how many negative thoughts crossed my mind? I was about to head seek help from the police but thank God... Thank God... you are back!" Interrupting her words, she snapped at her venting out her frustration with an intensive teary stare.

"I am sorry... I must have scared you so bad." Softly wiping out her rolling tears, she mumbled her apology in a morose tone.

"Where the heck you had been since the morning? And..." Glancing at her with her frowned eyebrows, she probed her, "what's with this corny maid outfit? Did you go to a cosplay competition? Why are you dressed like this?"

Enduring a distressed look on her face, slowly she removed the ruffled hairband from the top of her head. "No... it was...it was kinda like a cosplay competition." All anxiously, she tried to come up with a lame excuse to escape from her interrogation.

"What?" With a scowled expression on her face, Clara continued staring at her in awe for a while. "You went to a cosplay competition in such an early morning, leaving behind such a scary letter? Do you think I am a crazy fool who will believe such a lame answer?"

She stood still all frigid and numb, lowering her gaze down from her. She was fidgeting on her own with her mind shrouded with several thoughts, "I can't tell her about Romano Mansion... I can't let her know about anything--"

"Eva, what's wrong? I am asking you something--"

"Clara...can we talk about all these later? I...I really feel very dizzy right now. I am not in the state both mentally and physically to face all these questions. I...I am very tired..." Her voice sounded very painful and distressed, with a grimacing look on her face.

"Ah...Al-Alright... Let's head inside first. You can answer me whenever you feel you are ready... But please, I beg you, Eva, I don't have anyone in this world apart from your precious friendship... Please, Please don't abandon me ever again." Gripping her arms tight, she quivered her pleading in a sorrowful tone.

"I am sorry for everything, Clara... I am really sorry." Murmuring in a guilt-stricken voice, she held onto her arm with a heavy heart.

....

"Madam Ivory... Did you summon me?"

Holding an arduous stern look in her dark, dubious brown eyes, Ivory was standing still on the giant sumptuous terrace of that magnificent Romano Mansion, staring at the endless horizon with a blank gaze. She seemed too quiet, with her frowned eyebrow ridge and still eyeballs looking all mystified. She had summoned Mr. Tylor, the chief butler of the mansion and he immediately arrived right there to follow up with her command.

"Yes. I called you out here." In a deep voice, she murmured.

"Do you want to convey something Madam--"

"I want to ask you something, Mr.Tylor. Be honest with me." Slowly, she shifted her dark gaze towards him by turning behind, evoking a small mysterious smirk. "Did you saw Czar bringing someone into our mansion?"

With her strict blunt question, he seemed to be fretted for a few seconds as he averted his gaze away from her. Squirming anxiously, he answered, "ye-yes Madam."

"Did you see that person? Didn't you ask him anything?" She continued her sharp query by taking a step closer to him.

"Well, to be honest, Master Czar had forbidden me to interrupt him any further. But--"

"But?"

"But...I will be honest with you, Madam. He brought inside a suspicious lady dressed in the maid outfit. That maiden was trying hard to cover her face from me and she was really acting absurd. I can guarantee, that person was someone from outside and probably...could be a human lady--"

GWAAWP!

All of a sudden, stabbing him with her razor-sharp fierce claws, Ivory shoved her entire right arm inside his gut and ripped it apart brutally! Blood droplets smeared all over the surface of the terrace including the thick droplets staining her silk gown

"AEEEKKK! MA-MADAM!" Spewing out warm thick blood from his quivering lips, immediately he plopped down on the ground as soon as she shoved her blood-coated arm from inside his abdomen. Lurking in pain for several minutes, slowly his body movements halted as he breathed his last gasp of air.

Staring intensively at his blood-covered ripped body, Ivory took a deep sigh out as she raised her chin up from the ground to stare at the limitless blue sky. She had a menacing grievous expression on her face with warm blood dripping down her claws on the ground.

"You... You were the only witness, Mr. Tylor... You could have easily spilled about today in front of anyone just like how you confessed before me... And... I didn't have any option left other than killing you... I am sorry, Mr. Tylor. You were like a father-figure for me...

But..." All of a sudden, her dark eyes obtained the dominant red alpha form as she lowered her eyes down at the ground. "To protect my Zeus... I can go beyond any boundaries...

I can... I can commit...everything..." She grumbled under low breath, clenching her blood-smeared fist.
